  11.             parents had to come forward and 
  12.             admit that they'd broken the law 
  13.             so their children could get 
  14.             treatment.

  17.             Sounds like they waited too long.

  19.                     BASHIR 
  20.                 (agreeing) 
  21.             There wasn't much the doctors at 
  22.             the Institute could do for them -- 
  23.             cases like theirs are so rare 
  24.             there's no standard treatment.

  26.                     KIRA
  27.             I can't imagine it was a very 
  28.             challenging environment for them.

  30.                     BASHIR
  31.             That's exactly what Doctor Loews 
  32.             felt when she first came to the 
  33.             Institute. She got permission to 
  34.             separate them from the other 
  35.             residents so she could work with 
  36.             them.

  39.             Why did she bring them here?

  41.                     BASHIR
  42.             She thought they might respond to 
  43.             meeting someone who was like them, 
  44.             but was living a normal life. 
  45.             She's hoping that someday they'll 
  46.             be able to live on their own and 
  47.             be productive.

  49.     O'Brien smiles, shakes his head --
