  4. 59   INT. KIRA'S QUARTERS

  6.     It's the next morning. Kira is lying awake in bed, 
  7.     staring up at the ceiling. It's hard to say how long 
  8.     she's been awake. The Computer Voice finally speaks.
  9.  
  10.                     COMPUTER VOICE 
  11.             The time is zero five hundred 
  12.             hours.
  13.  
  14.     Kira swings her legs out of bed and stands. But 
  15.     there's no power behind her movements today, no 
  16.     strength of will, just the familiar pattern of routine 
  17.     as she looks into the mirror and stares at her image... 
  18.     leans in closer to examine the eyes... and today, no 
  19.     smile appears on her face.
  20.  
  21.                                     CUT TO:
  22.  
  23. 60   INT. CORRIDOR/TURBOLIFT
  24.  
  25.     Kira is waiting outside the turbolift doors, carrying 
  26.     a PADD. The doors OPEN and she ENTERS to find the 
  27.     usual morning crowd of N.D. Cardassians and Jem'Hadar. 
  28.     To the other passengers, this is just another morning, 
  29.     but something has changed in Kira. The death of Yassim 
  30.     is heavy on her mind and she avoids eye contact with 
  31.     everyone in the lift.

  33.                                     CUT TO:
  34.  
  35. 61   INT. OPS 
  36.  
  37.     The turbolift ENTERS Ops and Kira gets off along with 
  38.     everyone else. The normal routine proceeds as the duty 
  39.     shift changes. Kira heads to her console. The N.D. 
  40.     Cardassian approaches with a cup of raktajino and Kira 
  41.     takes it by rote.

  44.             Thanks, Mavek.
  45.  
  46.     She lifts the mug to her lips, but as she does so she 
  47.     lifts her eyes and looks around -- really looks around -- 
  48.     Ops as if for the very first time.
