  4. 48   CONTINUED:

  6.     Time seems to stand still for these two men. The SOUND 
  7.     of the crowd FADES AWAY and for this instant, it seems 
  8.     as though no one else is here.
  9.  
  10.     Worf searches in Martok's face for something... and 
  11.     finally finds it. It is a moment of Tova'dok -- Worf 
  12.     knows what's in Martok's heart and now Worf knows what 
  13.     he must do...
  14.  
  15. 49   NEW ANGLE 
  16.  
  17.     As we return to real time. Worf breaks the hold and 
  18.     moves back to circle for another chance. Martok is now 
  19.     the aggressor, charging and slashing at Worf with a 
  20.     ferocity only hinted at earlier.
  21.  
  22. 50   THE CROWD 
  23.  
  24.     is a little surprised by Martok's new offensive 
  25.     posture, but their bloodlust is in full cry and it 
  26.     doesn't really matter to them who wins and who loses at 
  27.     this point -- their screams are incoherent, almost 
  28.     insane as they give themselves over to the madness of 
  29.     combat.
  30.  
  31. 51   THE FIGHT 
  32.  
  33.     Martok presses the fight... Worf retreats... then 
  34.     finally Worf makes a fatal mistake and Martok KNOCKS 
  35.     the knife out of Worf's hand and sends it flying across 
  36.     the Bridge. Martok snarls and PLUNGES the knife deep
  37.     into Worf's side and then pulls it out again -- a 
  38.     grave, but not fatal wound -- and Worf goes down onto 
  39.     the deck.
  40.  
  41.     The crowd falls silent for a shocked moment as Worf 
  42.     hits the deck... Martok turns to them, breathing 
  43.     heavy... and then Kornan begins the chant:
  44.  
  45.                     KORNAN
  46.             Martok... Martok... Martok...
  47.  
  48.     And in a moment, they all take it up, until it is a 
  49.     frenzy of screaming voices:
  50.  
  51.                     ALL
  52.             MARTOK! MARTOK! MARTOK!!
  53.             MARTOK!!
