  6.     Silaran picks up a laser scalpel from the cart and 
  7.     tests it -- a fine CUTTING BEAM comes a few inches out 
  8.     of the scalpel for a moment.
  9.  
  10.     Kira is thinking as fast as she can... desperate for 
  11.     some way, any way out of this... Silaran turns to Kira 
  12.     and prepares to apply the scalpel to her abdomen.
  13.  
  14.                     KIRA 
  15.             Wait! Please, I'm begging you -- 
  16.             at least give me a sedative -- 
  17.             show some compassion! Don't just 
  18.             cut me open!
  19.  
  20.     Silaran pauses and looks deep into her eyes for a beat. 
  21.     He takes pity on her at last.
  22.  
  23.                     SILARAN
  24.             All right. I'll show more mercy 
  25.             than you have.
  26.  
  27.     He turns to the cart, picks up a hypospray, makes an 
  28.     adjustment to his hypospray and then leans in close to 
  29.     Kira's face again.
  30.  
  31.                     SILARAN
  32.             Take a good look at my face, Kira.
  33.             I want it to be the last thing you
  34.             see.
  35.  
  36.     She looks up at his twisted features for a moment and 
  37.     then he applies the hypospray to her neck. Kira passes out.
  38.  
  39.                     SILARAN
  40.             The creature slept, dreaming its 
  41.             dark dreams and happy to be out of 
  42.             the light. The innocent life it 
  43.             held would awaken in brilliance, 
  44.             and never know darkness again.
  45.  
  46.     He switches OFF the restraining field, and then picks 
  47.     up the laser scalpel again. He points it at her belly 
  48.     and is just about to activate it...
  49.  
  50.     When suddenly Kira comes out of the chair swinging and 
  51.     we realize that she's been faking. Silaran lets out an 
  52.     anguished scream as she hits him hard and fast... he's 
  53.     knocked back into a table, grabs a large heavy piece of 
  54.     computer hardware and swings it at her with deadly 
  55.     force. Kira twists out of the way, stumbles, almost 
  56.     falls... Silaran comes at her again and she just 
  57.     manages to get to her phaser on the workbench. She 
  58.     turns and FIRES just before Silaran could get a chance 
  59.     to cave in her skull with the hardware.
