  9.     Trevean pitches his voice for all to hear...

  11.                     TREVEAN 
  12.             Others have come to our city with 
  13.             promises of a cure. They stirred 
  14.             up hope... took food and clothes 
  15.             in exchange for their elixirs, 
  16.             then moved on.
  17.                 (beat)
  18.             But their promises were always 
  19.             lies.
  20.  
  21.     Murmurs of assent from the crowd...
  22.  
  23.                     TREVEAN 
  24.             And the poor wretches who believed 
  25.             in them always came to me in the 
  26.             end, begging for release...
  27.  
  28.                     BASHIR 
  29.             I just want to do what I can to 
  30.             help. I'm not making any 
  31.             promises.

  33.                     TREVEAN 
  34.             Take care that you don't. Because 
  35.             we've dealt with those who give 
  36.             false hope before. Wherever 
  37.             they'd moved on to, we found 
  38.             them...
  39.                 (with an edge)
  40.             And believe me, their deaths made 
  41.             the Blight look like a blessing...

  43.     With the crowd swayed to his side, their mood ugly, 
  44.     Trevean turns and moves away... off Bashir's face as he 
  45.     takes in his words...
