  13.     A few days later.  As the Meridians go about their activities, 
  14.     Dax and Deral are seated side-by-side at a table, a few PADDS 
  15.     spread out around them.  They've been working for hours.  
  16.     After a beat, she looks up from her PADD.
  17.  
  18.                     DAX
  19.             How are those calculations coming... ?
  20.  
  21.                     DERAL
  22.             I'm checking them now...
  23.  
  24.     A beat as he works.
  25.  
  26.                     DERAL
  27.                 (frustrated)
  28.             It's the same as before... there's 
  29.             nothing to indicate that gamma bursts 
  30.             are causing the quantum fluctuations.
  31.  
  32.     He tosses his PADD down.  Dax sees how frustrated he is, 
  33.     leans closer to him, caresses his face with her hand...
  34.  
  35.                     DAX
  36.             Then something else must be triggering 
  37.             the dimensional shifts.  Whatever it 
  38.             is, we'll find it.
  39.  
  40.     He looks at her for a beat, then nods... takes her hand -- 
  41.     they're in this together.  Dax's combadge SOUNDS.
