  6.     She moves off, fighting the urge to break into a run.  As 
  7.     she comes around the free-standing directory console, she has 
  8.     to stop short to keep from running into the masked figure -- 
  9.     it's standing directly in her path, not six feet away.
  10.  
  11.     Before Dax even has time to react the figure reaches up and 
  12.     tears off its mask, ripping it in half -- revealing a 
  13.     sinister, identifiably masculine mask, from behind which 
  14.     piercing humanoid eyes stare at her.
  15.  
  16.     Dax gasps, steps back... and bumps smack into someone -- she 
  17.     reacts, startled, and we --
  18.  
  19.                                     CUT TO:

  23. 8    NEW ANGLE - NORMAL LIGHTING

  25.     where we see that Dax has backed into QUARK.  The Promenade 
  26.     is full of people as before.  Quark sees her troubled 
  27.     expression.

  29.                     QUARK
  30.             Something wrong, Lieutenant?
  31.  
  32.     Dax doesn't answer; when she turns back toward the masked 
  33.     figure, he's gone.  Dax looks around, trying to find him in 
  34.     the crowd -- but he's disappeared.  Off her troubled features 
  35.     we...
