  13.             Last time I saw her she was across 
  14.             the square.  I'll take you to her.

  16. 16   EXT. ANOTHER PART OF YADERAN SETTLEMENT - NIGHT

  18.     An alien girl (TAYA) sits alone on a stairway, absentmindedly 
  19.     playing with an alien toy which vaguely resembles a large 
  20.     top.  Taya's about nine, and looks lost and forlorn.  She 
  21.     hears a noise... a footstep or some movement... and looks up 
  22.     and sees...

  24. 17   ODO AND RURIGAN
  25.  
  26.     walking toward her.  Odo's face is hidden by the darkness.
  27.  
  28.                     RURIGAN
  29.             Taya?
  30.  
  31.     Rurigan steps into the light.  Odo follows and the beam of 
  32.     harsh light illuminates his face, making it look even more 
  33.     bizarre and unreal.

  35. 18   ON TAYA
  36.  
  37.     As she reacts to Odo's strange appearance, shying away.
  38.  
  39. 19   RESUME SCENE
  40.  
  41.     Odo can't help but notice the girl's reaction.  Rurigan 
  42.     notices it, too.

  44.                     RURIGAN
  45.             Don't be afraid, Taya.  He's a friend 
  46.             of Protector Colyus.  He just wants 
  47.             you to answer some questions.

  50.             Do I have to?
