-
- Last minute notes
- =================
- Please make sure you have read the file "ReadThis.txt" which
- came with this SIS installation of JWIN. This may contain
- very important last minute notes.
-
- About the Program
- =================
- JWIN for EPOC is a port ("transfer") of a program by the same name
- which runs on the Psion 3a/3c/3mx/Siena.
-
- The original program was written because I wanted to have a useful
- collection of general utilities that were quick and easy to access,
- but didn't take up a huge amount of space. After much development and
- many refinements, I thought that the program was in an acceptable state
- to be publicly released, and more importantly, to be of use to other
- EPOC users. When the first EPOC machines were released, I tried
- to port JWIN as soon as possible so that all users could benefit from
- it's functionality.
-
- The program has been fully tested and appears to have no bugs, but if
- you find any or have a comment/suggestion for future versions then I
- welcome your input. Feel free to e-mail me on:
-
- nicko@nildram.co.uk
-
- Updates of JWIN (and all my other programs) can be found on my web
- page at:
-
- http://www.spencer.nildram.co.uk/
-
- If you are able to, please also check this site if you plan to contact
- me, as it will ALWAYS house the most accurate and up-to-date contact
- details for me.
-
- Disabled Features
- =================
- JWIN is FULLY WORKING shareware. This means there are NO, yes
- that's correct NO, disabled features in JWIN while it's unregistered.
- All you will see to remind you to register is a nag screen on startup. If
- you exceed the 25 day evaluation period (see below), then you will also
- get a nag screen every time you switch to JWIN.
-
- Registration
- ============
- JWIN is distributed as Shareware - it is NOT free! You may use JWIN in
- it's unregistered form for 25 days. If, after this trial period, you find
- JWIN useful and want to keep using it, you MUST register.
-
- To register the program you can:
-
- 1) Send 10 UK Pounds or 15 US Dollars (OR the equivalent in another
- foreign currency PLUS 10% EXTRA) to:
-
- Phil Spencer
- 10 Wheeler Close
- Aylesbury
- Bucks
- ENGLAND
- HP20 1JU
-
- NO FOREIGN CHEQUES (CHECKS) PLEASE. Sorry, I know this is
- inconvenient, but the banks charge too much to convert and then
- cash cheques made out to me in foreign currencies - in most cases,
- they will charge MORE than the value of the cheques (checks) I
- have to deal with!
-
- Please also remember to include either your E-Mail address OR a
- stamped, self addressed envelope so that I will be able to send you
- your personalised key code which unlocks the program's features and
- gets rid of the nags.
-
- 2) Use the excellent RegNet service on the web and register
- JWIN by going to:
-
- http://www.reg.net/product.asp?ID=1670
-
- for Geofox-One registrations, or:
-
- http://www.reg.net/product.asp?ID=757
-
- for any other EPOC machine.
-
- Company/multi-user use of JWIN requires an individual registration for
- *EACH* copy being used. However, I do offer significant "bulk buy"
- discounts on JWIN's price. If you want to take advantage of this,
- please contact me (see above for addresses etc).
-
- When registered you will be entitled to any future upgrades FREE, you
- also get to take advantage of the new versions before many users as
- they will appear on my homepage BEFORE they're released to other
- places (e.g. CompuServe's Psion Forum). Finally, you also get a direct
- say in future developments and more importantly a clear conscience!
-
- When it comes down to it, 10 UK Pounds isn't a lot to register and it'll
- help me develop future versions (and other programs). Besides, I don't
- have much time free as I'm a student, and so I need an incentive :-)
-
- JWIN's history
- ==============
- To stop this readme file from getting to big, I've decided to leave
- out a history section. If you really want one (!) then visit my
- web site (see above) where you can see an on-line copy.
