ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. Help for Record Information ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The Record Dialog Box is used to record .wav files for System Sounds.
The High Input checkbox allows recording at high or low input. When checked
this indicated to the system to record at a high input level.
The Monitor checkbox allows the recording to be monitored through the audio
speakers on the audio board. When it is checked monitoring is enabled.
The Time display indicates the length of the recording in minutes, seconds,
milliseconds.
The Sample Rate radio buttons allow for the selection of different sampling
rates for recording. They are 11.025 kHz, 22.050 kHz or 44.100 kHz. The
higher the sampling rate, the broader the recorded frequency range and the
larger the generated .wav file.
Select the Rewind push button causes the recorder to rewind to the beginning of
the .wav file for either re record or play.
Select the Stop push button causes the recorder to stop record or play.
Select the Play push button causes the recorder to play the current .wav file.
Select the Record push button causes the recorder to begin recording. This will
destroy the current recording. Be sure to Save the current recording before
selecting Record a second time.
The Input radio buttons indicate the audio source for recording. The audio may
be recorded from line in or microphone.
The Resolution radio buttons allow for the selection of data resolution in
recording. Either 8 or 16 bits per sample may be selected. The higher the
recording resolution the better the representation of the original wave form
amplitude.
The Channels radio buttons indicate the number of channels to be recorded.
Either mono or stereo may be selected.
Select the OK push button dismissed the dialog without saving the recorded .wav
file.
Select the New push button resets the recorder to allow recording of a new
file. All current settings remain as selected.
Select the Save push button to bring up the standard file save dialog, then
enter a file name. The file should be saved with a .wav suffix.
Select the Help push button to view this help panel.
