- <f1><c000> NOTHING TO REGRET <f0>
- growin' up in the hands of fujiland
-
- personal note from Grey / Mystic Bytes
- ----------------------------------------------------------------- -- - --- ----
-
- It's already 16 years since I entered this great land :) I was 9 years old when
- I got my dreamed of Atari 65XE with a humble tape-recorder. Who cared that the
- waiting time for loading games was longer than an elephant's dick... who cared
- that it failed many times and you could see the lovely "SELF TEST" screen? I
- was just so excited to have a possibility to play on all these great
- games...It's an unforgettable feeling which is so hard to resurrect nowadays...
-
- So that's how it started. The love for Atari computers has been injected to my
- blood since this first moment till this day. I've been a "fuji warrior"
- fighting with everyone trying to poke fun even with Atari's name (this word was
- almost holy for me! - and in fact it still is, hehe). It was at the beginin' of
- the 90's when ppl started to look at the enemys' camp... The reason was so
- cruel - many software houses began to turn their backs on Atari... :( It was a
- knife put deeply into my shoulders... I was totally SMASHED.
-
- My school friends started to switch to the still active C-64 world, I felt more
- and more alone every month... But even in that HARD time I was never THINKING
- about betraying Atari, I didn't want to join the same enemy camp as my friends
- did. I stood faithful to the roots! Even more! I still did my best to force ppl
- to buy Atari showing the lows of C-64 and highs of 65XE... :) (faster BASIC
- language, faster floppy drives, bigger palette with 256 colours, 4chn sound...
- only highlights, hehe). Of course in hindsight it sounds kinda lame but I was
- quite young ;) The future verifes it all!
-
- ...and You know what? time showed it was a good choice :) not 'coz C-64's
- software houses started to vanish so quickly. And NOT 'coz Atari (what was a
- big surprise!) grew up in power thanx to the many NEW game publishers from
- Poland... NO... Because of the COMMUNITY. During this time I met a lot of great
- ppl who shared the same passion. I became a member of the great world :) A
- world which was always a place to forget about the harsh reality, various
- troubles at school as well as in real life. Attending Atari parties and meeting
- many scene-friends always helped me to do it. I could even risk to say that
- Atari scene built my personality nowadays...
-
- Surely for someone who never entered this world, all these words above are only
- a boring moaning and form a picture of an "obsessed bloke". I can understand it
- but I never WAS and I WON'T be ashamed to be Atarian!
-
- I grew up in hands of the fujiland and if I could turn back time.. I would like
- to live through it once again! :)
-
- There is NOTHING TO REGRET !!!
