  41.     Grey:  Feeling a bit CONFUSed? :) What da hell is that? I've been searching
  42.            for any  CNF  member to do an interview, but... it's just impossible
  43.            to find anyone! But  a  miracle  happened  and  I  found your e-mail 
  44.            address  somewhere  on the inet... suddenly,  totally  unexpectedly! 
  45.            So let's do it man! It's time for your confessional conversation for
  46.            the Chosneck columns!  What  your parents call you, how old are you?
  47.            Is  there  anything you do besides the so called "scene"? :) There's
  48.            some questions for you, lets hear some answers!

  50. Meverick:  My name  is  Kamil Andruszewicz - I'm  23 now  and  I still don't do 
  51.            anything except computing - no spare time - well almost :)

  53.     Grey:  Could you dig deep into your memorybank  and  try to recall when you
  54.            did it for the 1st time...? Yummie, adult stuff in da house... :) Of
  55.            course I mean  about "touching" atari keys... :) How and when did it
  56.            land on your desk?

  58. Meverick:  My first own Atari (1040STFM) was a christmas gift. But this was not 
  59.            my first contact with Atari.  My friend had a superb 130XE with tape 
  60.            drive three years before so I grew up with little XL/XE before I got
  61.            the ST. My parents saw that I liked  Atari  so  it was a fairly well
  62.            considered gift!

  64.     Grey:  Do you remember what  thoughts came into your mind when you saw your 
  65.            1st demo ever? :) What kind of impressions?

  67. Meverick:  I wonder if anyone was ever as  suprised  as me when visited a local 
  68.            copy-party - so full of colours,  music - a real  shock  for a young 
  69.            mind. For  the  ST  it was something like "Syntax Terror". The first 
  70.            impression? I think it would be - 'what the hell is this for ?' :)

  72.     Grey:  When  did  you  join  'CONFUSIONS'  group  and  why?  What  was your 
  73.            function?

  75. Meverick:  I think it was somewhere in 95/96. It was a long time ago... But I'm 
  76.            sure I was a coder.

  78.     Grey:  Could  you try to throw us  the  names of scene-prods released under 
  79.            'CNF' label  with  short  description of them all? (date of release, 
  80.            machine needed etc.)

  82. Meverick:  The first one  was  surely  an  intro  released on Orneta in 96 - my 
  83.            1st and last  official intro  for  ST/STE with some grafix by Raster 
  84.            with  no real name - just some greetings to friends from that party. 
  85.            Does anybody remember that nice raster-fire ? ;) There was a diskmag 
  86.            by Maskotka but I really can't remember  the name - and I can't tell 
  87.            if it was released (grey's note:  the mag  was called  "Filler"  and 
  88.            some  issues  have been kicked out). AMBLERY - slideshow released in 
  89.            '96/'97 - two versions,  one for ST and one for STE. That was around 
  90.            the time I left CNF, and subsequently in '97, AMOK was done.

  92.     Grey:  "AMOK" was the first  and unfortunately  the  only  SERIOUS  project
  93.            finished  under ' CNF'  wings (as in a full multi-part demo). It was 
  94.            surely  a  cool demo,  however  there  was no design  (effects shown 
  95.            chaotically without much continuity), no  msx sync  and  some pretty 
  96.            ugly graphics... (esp. the one pic with skull - Bloody hell! It  was 
  97.            more shitty than shitty shit!). Were  you  satisfied with  the final 
  98.            result?

  100. Meverick:  Me? No ;) - Well to be honest I  didn't  do  anything for that demo. 
  101.            It was first shown on Orneta in '97 when Spirit  and I were not part
  102.            of CNF anymore.  From  the  coding side it isn't so bad. It was done
  103.            by  our  new coder  who  I haven't  even met in person (grey's note:
  104.            it was Sqward of coz, hehe). Not all the  grafix  are as ugly as the 
  105.            skull though!

  107.     Grey:  And tell us honestly - Did  you  know  that  the  last effect (green
  108.            torus) was a clever cheat? :)))

  110. Meverick:  Know - no. Suspected - yes,  like  always  when I see something like 
  111.            this for the first time :)

  113.     Grey:  Ok, let's back to the  group's  affairs... I know that 'CNF' doesn't 
  114.            exists  anymore  but  do  you  know  what  the  other guys are up to 
  115.            nowadays?

  117. Meverick:  No :( I've  heard  that  Raster  was  active  for a long time on the 
  118.            Atari. CNF was a group of  Atari ST  freaks that felt the need to do 
  119.            something and we did - maybe not in the most excellent way ;)

  121.     Grey:  Have you seen any  ST demos  released within the last few years? New
  122.            standards have been set in coding!

  124. Meverick:  Yes - It's quite amazing. Nowadays  demos  are  more  technical  but 
  125.            from the other side the design is on a far higher level - finally it 
  126.            exists ;). I really admire the work  of  Oxygene  for example. For a
  127.            long time there was nothing new but now old guys return to say hello 
  128.            once again.

  130.     Grey:  Did  you  sell  Your  ST or is it  hidden  somewhere awaiting better 
  131.            times?

  133. Meverick:  Maybe it's a common scenario but  it's  under my bed. I really can't
  134.            say why I can't move it from there.

  136.     Grey:  Is it possible that you  could  dig  it out  and start to code on it 
  137.            once again?

  139. Meverick:  Hmm, it would be  quite  interesting  just  to  find  out if I still  
  140.            remember anything.
