  2.                         NEWSCHAT ECHO RULES

  4.     This is an echo for sysops and users to read the weekly Fidonet News online
  5. and to comment, chat and discuss what's happening in Fidonet as read about in
  6. FidoNews. Please try NOT to address messages to EDITOR since I can't guarantee
  7. that Tom Jennings will see them.  Durned if I even know if he reads this echo.
  8. <sigh>  Send all mail for him directly to him via netmail.  However, messages
  9. addressed to EDITOR in here will be assumed to be to ALL.

  15.     The rules are simple.
  16.  
  17.   1.   No submissions of articles for FidoNews will be accepted. Please
  18.        make sure and send your submissions directly to 1:1/1.
  19.  
  20.   2.   Though the news messages indicate that the news is issuing from
  21.        1:1/1, please understand that they are coming from my system. If
  22.        you have a problem, please netmail me directly and not 1:1/1.
  23.  
  24.   3.   Play nice. This means CHALLENGE the issue, not the message poster.
  25.        If you have a problem, please netmail the moderator.
  26.  
  27.   4.   Foul language belongs in the street not here. Remember, people of
  28.        all ages will be reading this conference. Please keep it clean.

  30.   5.   Spelling doesn't count! But check it anyway. You don't want to be
  31.        embarrassed. Do you? <hehehehehe>

  33.   6.   This conference MAY NOT be ported to the BIX echomail system,
  34.        GroupMail or to any other network's echomail system without
  35.        permission of the Moderator.

  37.   7.   There is only one Moderator. If you feel someone has broken the
  38.        rules please NETMAIL the Moderator and don't take it upon yourself
  39.        to admonish anyone.

  41.   8.   Messages from the moderator concerning enforcement of the rules
  42.        are not considered offtopic, however, neither are they topics for
  43.        general discussion by anyone other than the moderator and the person
  44.        being addressed.

  46.   9.   No advertising. You can advertise to your heart's content in the
  47.        Fidonews itself and it will get here.

  49.  10.   Discussions in this echo on ANY subject should be limited to one
  50.        or two weeks ... long enough to determine if you'd like to continue
  51.        in a more appropriate echo, netmail or drop the talk altogether but
  52.        no longer. Let's not get bogged down on any one topic since Fidonews
  53.        contains so many of interest.

  56.  11.   Participation in this echo indicates acceptance of these rules!

  58.     The SysOp of each board carrying this echo is granted the right to
  59. Edit or Kill messages which, in their opinion, are inappropriate and
  60. unacceptable on their system.  Exception to this rule is the killing or
  61. editing of any messages received prior to feeding them to linked
  62. systems.  This is NOT permitted.  Please use common sense when
  63. interpreting this rule and, if in doubt, netmail queries will be
  64. promptly answered.

  66.      That's it, except that if someone comes up with a new and
  67.      improved way to aggravate all and sundry I reserve the right
  68.      to make a rule to fit the occasion.
