Version 1.1 06/21/88 Added carrier detect check so that an
errorlevel 1 is returned and the program
is exited upon loss of carrier.
Added a local feature that inhibits output
to the com port if the string local is found
anywhere on the command line.
Version 1.2 06/27/88 Added internal interrupt driven comm port
interrupt service routines since WildCat
disables comm port communications during
a call to arc_view function.
Version 1.3 06/30/88 Fixed interrupt vector bug in internal
interrupt driven service routine.
Version 1.4 01/22/89 Fixed divide by zero error upon encountering
an unknown storage type.
Added detection of Crunched and Crushed
stowage types.
Completely revised the modem/console
i/o routines.
Version 2.0 01/23/89 Added option to read text files
within an archive.
Version 2.1 01/31/89 Made the default mode local.
Added temporary extraction pathname.
Version 2.2 02/07/89 Added the ability to download selected
files within an archive. Made two status
lines to accomodate longer pathnames.
Version 2.3 02/11/89 Extended number of possible filenames in
archive from 128 to 255. Fixed problem
of negative numbers being assigned to
filenames.

Version 2.4 02/19/89 Removed Carey Nash's arcview code and
replaced it with my own which was derived
from descriptions of archive file headers.
Added support for zipfiles and .pak files.
Added ability to mark files and copy them
to a temporary archive for downloading.
Version 2.5 02/19/89 Added activity log. Added ability to
specify directories to search by reading
a configuration file. Removed the system()
calls and replaced them with spawnlp(). The
result is smaller memory requirement and
faster operation.
Version 2.6 03/04/89 Added feature to disable the activity log.
Added option to call dsz from a batch file
by putting the path to the batch file in
the environment.
Version 2.7 03/11/89 Added option to ask for another filename to
view when using the /c parameter. Fixed the
incorrect CRC display with .zip and .zoo files.
Version 2.8 03/18/89 Aviewcom now searches through WildCat's
Activity.log file to determine who is online.
Version 3.0 03/26/89 Removed the 'search activity.log' feature
and replaced it with a 'read CALLINFO.bbs'
feature. AViewCom uses the information in
CALLINFO.bbs to limit the number of downloads
and the number of download kbytes.
Added LHARC (.lzh) format.
Version 3.0b 04/01/89 Updated AVIEWCOM.DOC to reflect more changes.
Added AViewCom.scr as welcome screen. Fixed
lzhview to prompt for more after 23 lines.
Version 3.0c 04/07/89 Repaired lzhview to re-list archive filenames
correctly and included lharc as option in
aviewcom.cnf file. Fixed problem with first
character of filename being displayed as
graphic character when it should be a number.
Added feature to retry download on error.

Version 3.1 04/10/89 Repaired some bugs in the lzhview() function.
Packed some of the code into smaller segments.
Updated the CALLINFO.COM program to eliminate
lockups under some conditions.
Version 3.2 04/13/89 Fixed bug that cause "cannot send \.zip"
message when attempting to download
aviewtmp.zip.
Version 3.3 07/19/89 Fixed many lockup problems associated with
memory corruption by splitting AVIEWCOM into
two programs and using an overlay scheme.

Version 4.0 09/30/89 Added support for WildCat v2.0. Added feature
to update WildCat's file and caller databases to
reflect the caller's number of total downloads
and total download kbytes.

Repaired AViewCom /C to write correct
"data bits" number.
Version 4.5c 09/29/90 Added disk swapping code to reduce memory
usage. Deleted VIEW.OVL. Moved this
history listing to AVIEWCOM.HST. Added
SysOp HOT-keys. Added re-[V]iew option.
Revised the Setup menu. Added option to
disable direct screen writes. Fixed several
user statistic routines such as allowed
download ratio. Added code to return screen
color back to original before AViewCom ran.

Version 4.5d 10/01/90 Repaired broken .ARC view. The header was
overwriting the archive file number. Added
support for ARC v6.02 and PAK v2.50.
Version 4.5e 10/04/90 Fixed remote caller CR/LF problem. Fixed
callinfo.bbs line 9 and line 34 problems.
Version 4.5f 10/14/90 Added -i to command line - com port irq #.
Fixed /U option to look in the AVIEWCOM home
directory for the AVIEWCOM.USR file. Added
Additional print statements for status during
/U option run time.
Version 4.5g 10/25/90 Added more code to make 7E1 communications
work even while running under WildCat!
Modified comm I/O routines to enable comms
with DTE locked at 19200 or whatever. Added
external protocols.
Version 4.6a 12/28/90 Added support for ARJ.EXE
Version 4.6b 02/11/91 Added suport for LHA.EXE. Added -b to command
line for com port base address.
Version 4.6c 03/02/91 Updated documentation.
Version 4.6d 05/11/91 Added support for 38400 baud. Added support
for full pathnames stored in archives.
Completely changed all file access to share
mode. Changed AVIEWTMP.??? to AVIEWnnn.???
where nnn is a number chosen to create a
unique filename. This number is also
incremented each time the user downloads
additional temporary archives.
Version 5.0a 05/19/91 Revised the time left calculations from
CALLINFO.BBS. Fixed "No Carrier" message when
signing on locally. Added "Mins Left" to
prompt. Added "Leave AViewCom" message at
exit time. Added com port number as %1 to
the AVIEWCOM.PRO file.
Version 5.1a 05/26/91 Included the ORDER.FRM into the archive.
Added support for archive and file comments
in .arj formats. Extensively improved archive
type identification for both self-extracting
and other archive types. Fixed "background
changing to white" bug in monochrome text
display routine. Fixed "no pause" after
display of .bbs or .scr file.
Version 5.2c 06/04/91 Fixed bugs in improved archive type ID
routines. Working on DesqView lock problem
Fixed lockups with ARJ v2.10. Corrected
display of ansi graphic screen files. Added
"-q" option to call a batch file to perform
the extraction. This is provided for systems
under desqview which lock up during extraction.
Version 5.3c 06/11/91 Added %2 parameter to AVIEWCOM.PRO file which
will pass the comm port base address and irq
number in the form ADDR,IRQ to the external
protocol such as the DSZ PORTX parameter.
Version 5.4a 06/21/91 Added -r option to command line for passing
the connect rate to use for file transfer
time calculations. Fixed missing UserName
entry at bottom of screen.
Version 6.0a 07/27/91 Added support to read DOOR.SYS file.
Version 6.0b 07/28/91 Added support to read environment variable
for port, base, and irq numbers.
Version 6.1a 08/25/91 Included AVIEWREG.EXE for registered users.
Version 6.1b 09/03/91 Added COM0 as local. Fixed CTS problem. Added

Version 6.1d 09/12/91 Fixed non-ascii file display inhibit. Fixed
viewing files with no extension. Fixed viewing
.zip files with numeric extension. Fixed the
download function which got broken. Added the
update user function. Added support for

Version 6.1e 03/11/92 Fixed failure to check for caller's time limit
at more prompt while displaying files. Fixed
several default values not being initialized
when the AVIEWCOM.CFG file exists. Now the
shareware version reads USERINFO.DAT to
determine whether or not the SysOp is logging
on locally.
Version 6.1f 03/22/92 Added page-up, page-dn, home, end, back, search
to the view text file routine.
Version 6.2a 03/30/92 Completely restructured the entire code.
Increased archive file filename capacity from
255 to no limit. Added prompt to archive when
a single file is reqested for download. Added
option to download entire archive. Removed
optional AVIEWCOM.CFG binary configuration file
and AVIEWCOM /S setup routine.
Version 6.2b 04/05/92 Fixed several bugs that found their way into
the rewrite. Updated the help display.
Version 6.3a 04/14/92 Found a scheme to avoid crashes under DesqView.
For the moment, this is a patch not a fix.
The true fix will come in future versions.
Version 6.3b 04/15/92 Changed the -q parameter to disable DV patch.
Version 6.3c 04/16/92 Redirected stdout to AVIEWCOM.STD when shelling
to an external archiver or extractor which is
rewritten for each shell. If errors occur when
extracting or archiving, examination of this
file may be useful.
Version 6.3d 04/23/92 Fixed problem with displaying PKZIP v1.93a
files using new compression type "deflated".
Fixed broken file transfer protocol routine.
Fixed broken '*' command line arguement.
Fixed extracting wrong file when selecting
a single archive and answering archive yes.
AViewCom will now not shell to a file xfer
protocol when in the local mode.
Version 6.3e 06/07/92 Added optional password required for local
sysop to drop to dos. Removed the prompt for
carriage return before extracting when running
under desqview. Added option to pass a list
file to AViewCom of files to view using @list.
Added End Of File message at end of file.
Version 6.4a 06/28/92 Fixed -z options to work as stated in docs.
Corrected a problem with the temporary filename
used with downloads. Added #size parameter to
the CNF file and command line. Deleted the no
longer used AVIEWDSZ.BAT file from the program.
Corrected the display of minutes left on the
caller's screen to decrement as used. Added
FILENAME as %3 to AVIEWCOM.PRO file.
Version 6.4b 07/09/92 Removed pathname from temporary archive created
when downloading. With use of -c, prompts for
another filename if last one not found. Added
baud rate as %4 to AVIEWCOM.PRO file.
Version 6.4c 07/25/92 Repaired %3 parameter to AVIEWCOM.PRO file.
Added [U]nmark to the mark file menu.
Version 6.4d 08/03/92 Added command line option to read text file
Version 6.4e 09/02/92 Added support for extracting files stored with
full pathnames in .lzh and .zip files.
Version 6.4f 10/19/92 Repaired download ratio problem. Repaired drop
carrier on exit problem.
Version 6.4g 04/03/93 Changed default temporary working directory
from the current directory to the home path
(where aviewcom.exe resides). Updated docs
to mention PKZIP v2.04g. Updated copyright
dates. Revised download feature. Changed
the text display function to not clear the
screen when encountering a form feed character.
Added -f parameter to display straight text
file instead of viewing an archive. Fixed
bug with extracting filenames beginning with
a dash character ('-').
Version 6.4h 10/02/93 If a caller had 0 uploads, the ratio check was
not performed - fixed. Changed log filename
to AVIEWnnn.LOG where nnn is the node number.
Fixed strange problem with "Download Archive"
option. Fixed "View another archive" prompt
when using the -c option with the * parameter.
Separated help screen into two parts.
Version 6.5a 10/03/93 Added memory swapping routines.
