  11. problems and requests.

  79. M1  -Install board in a different slot
  80.     -AMI Bios:  use no lower version than 1.00.10.AX1 (BIOS update).
  81.     -Disable Bios Option "Video Snoop Palette".
  82.     -Award Bios: use Update from Version 4.50G Rel. 1404.0103.     
  83.     -Conflict with Adaptec 2940 Controller or Netcontroller?   
  84.      (try Intel-NCR SCSI Controller Typ PCISCSINR.)
  85.     -Enable System Bios Option "ISA Shared Memory".
  86.     -Conflict with other drivers?  (e.g. disable Netinstallation).
  87.     -Too less base memory after system boot up (> 575K) !!!
  88.     -Other playback applications (e.g. Media Player) should not
  89.      be active at the same time!
  90.     -load MSCDEX.EXE /M:50 after SMARTDRV.EXE (see AUTOEXEC.BAT)!!!
  91.     -SMARTDRV Configuration: 
  92.      CONFIG.SYS:  disable device=smartdrv...!
  93.      AUTOEXC.BAT: set smartdrv.exe on max. 1024 setzen!
  94.     -Set environment variable "GDC" to the ShowTime installation
  95.      directory. (e.g. SET GDC=C:\SPEA\GDC).
  96.  
  97. M2  Note: ShowTime contains no hardware compression for AVI
  98.     recordings. Configure for one of the offered software compression 
  99.     types (e.g. Cinepak) not for full frame recording!
  100.     SYSTEM BIOS - Chipset Setup: Set option "PCI posted write buffer"
  101.     to DISABLED. 
  102.  
  103. M4  Delete MEDIASTA.MST (contains bitmaps) and in MEDIASTA.INI - 
  104.     Section [MediaStation] the programs 1 ... 99 or delete the complete 
  105.     file.
  106.  
  107. M5  Install only "VIDEO for WINDOWS" Rel. 1.1e from the actual SHOWTIME 
  108.     software version >=0595!
  109.     Is the function of MSTATION under DOS correct? 
  110.     Note for different PCI (ASI) Motherboards that Int A has to be 
  111.     attached to a PCI Slot and a free IRQ (e.g. IRQ 15, 12, 11, 10).  
  112.     On some motherboards Int A,B,C are defined for certain slots. 
  113.     Please see the system bios setup for this configuration, set the 
  114.     options "PCI IRQ achieved by: Level" and "1st available IRQ:15"
  115.     and install the board in the "Int A" slot.
  116.     For VL-boards IRQ 9 should be used! 
  117.     This configuration has to be set by jumper on the motherboard in 
  118.     addition to the system Bios setup! 
  119.     Please note the manual of the motherboards.
  120.     Sony CD-ROM 55E drive: Use driver update Rel. 2.19.
  121.     Important: Always use the actuel CD-ROM driver!    
  122.  
  123. M6  Close all applications and MediaStation and then call MST again.
  124.  
  125. M7  - MPEG file contains no audio track?!
  126.     - Connect speakers at the audio connector of the ShowTime.
  127.     - Call (DOS) SOUND.BAT (see GDC directory). 
  128.     - Windows Mediaplayer: Run MPEG-File and set in the Menu 
  129.       OPTION CONFIGURE the audio level to max.
  130.       MediaStation: Set audio level to max.; switch off the mute button.
  131.  
  132. M8  Is not supported by the board. An additional sound board is required.
  133.  
  134. M9  Select the corresponding Video input via VIDCap or MediaStation 
  135.     (ADVANCED SETTINGS): Choose between Composite or SVHS. 
  136.  
  137. M10 Select a smaller resolution. The image size depends on the size of
  138.     the video display. It can be zoomed about double the size (for physical
  139.     reasons).  
  140.  
  141. M11 Was another graphics board with a Weitel processor installed before 
  142.     (e.g. V7-STORM PRO)?
  143.     Remove the Weitek driver entries from the SYSTEM.INI file, reconfigure 
  144.     the board to VGA and reinstall the SHOWTIME drivers.   
  145.         
  146. M12 In principle not with the MediaStation, but ....
  147.     MS Video for Windows (Full Version): Parallel sound recording only via 
  148.     a separate sound board. 
  149.  
  150. M13 The analogue sound recording cannot be played back via the SPEA SHOWTIME.
  151.     For sound playback connect the audio output of the video recorder or 
  152.     tv with the sound board via the -AUX/Line/Micro Input connector.  
  153.  
  154. M14 Check whether your SYSTEM.INI file contains the entry 'DEVICE=DVA.386' 
  155.     under the section [386enh] twice. If yes, then delete one of the entries.
  156.  
  157. M15 Install all programs of the SPEA SHOWTIME PLUS in one directory and take 
  158.     care that the environment variable GDC is set.  
  159.  
  160. M16 Using the Mitsumi mouse driver 6.0 only 256 colors are available 
  161.     under Windows 3.1. Use the actual (Microsoft) mouse driver.
