Notes
\-------/
First I would like to say thanks for using my program. Second I must
say sorry for the grammar and spelling. The only good word processor I have
is for Windows :( I would like to know of any problems you have with this.
If you have problems, comments or want the newest version call Mystic
Castle ][ at 219.672.8951 and E-Mail Airwolf with your problems and comments
and to get the newest version, just download it from the file area. I can
also be reached on FidoNet through the Tag Door echo.
I'm not sure if this will work on any other BBS software other than
TAG, if you can get it to work on another please tell me how you did it...
Thanks and enjoy!
Airwolf
P.S. T.A.G. picks the rumor, not this program, so if the same one keeps
popping up, blame T.A.G. :)
P.P.S. I've tested this a bunch, but there may be a major mess-up
somewhere, so please please TELL ME!

Installtion
\-------------/
Step I.
Make a directory JUST for Rumorz and Rumorz only and run the install program.
Step II.
Make a file called RUMORZ.BAT (or anything else, but anywhere in here it says
RUMORZ.BAT, make sure you put it in as you have it) in you main T.A.G.
directory.
The .bat file should look something like this:
/-------------------\
cd\
cd\tag\rumorz
rumorz
cd\tag
\-------------------/
Step III.
Next you go into T.A.G. and goto to the menu editor and add these things.
I'm not good at giving directions but I think you should get the idea.
Here is the way I have it setup on a board I'm sysop of.
First I made a new menu. Here is what it looks like
/------------------------------------------------------\
1. Menu number : 16
2. Menu name: Rumors!
3. Prompt: Rumors!!!
4. General SL : 10
5. AR flag: @
6. Help file ID : ""
7. Password: ""
8. Fallback menu : 1
9. Start help lvl: 0 <User Default>
L. Menu location : Main System
F. Flags: SL access check, GSL and AR, Time/Help ON
Board NORMAL, Menu name NORMAL
\------------------------------------------------------/
Second I added these commands to it. There is also a number 4 but it is
hidden.
/--------------------------------------------------------------------------\
Cmd# Short Desc.Cmd# Short Desc.Cmd# Short Desc.
---- --------------- ---- --------------- ---- ---------------
1 (A)dd a Rumor 3 (D)isplay Rumor 5 (Q)uit to Main
2 (L)ook at Rumor
\--------------------------------------------------------------------------/
First Command:
You must have commands 6, 7, and F like mine. 1-5 can be anything you want
it to be.
/-------------------------------------------------------------------------\
Command number : 1
1. Long desc. : (A)dd a Rumor
2. Short desc. : (A)dd a Rumor
3. Key: A
4. General SL : 10
5. AR flag: @
6. Program key : ?
7. Program data : "@RUMORQ.MSG"
F. Flags: SL access check, GSL and AR, Normal Command, Linked To Next
\-------------------------------------------------------------------------/
Second Command:
Have the second command hidden like this. Then for program key have : and
then have 7 as RUMOR.BAT
/-------------------------------------------------------------------------\ \
Command number : 2
1. Long desc. :
2. Short desc. :
3. Key:
4. General SL : 10
5. AR flag: @
6. Program key : :
7. Program data : "RUMORZ.BAT"
F. Flags: SL access check, GSL and AR, Normal Command, No Linking
\-------------------------------------------------------------------------/
Third Command:
This is the command you use to display a random rumor. Use the program key
as : and have the name of the rumor output be the program data.
/-------------------------------------------------------------------------\
Command number : 3
1. Long desc. : (D)isplay Rumor
2. Short desc. : (D)isplay Rumor
3. Key: D
4. General SL : 10
5. AR flag: @
6. Program key : 8
7. Program data : "RUMORS"
F. Flags: SL access check, GSL and AR, Normal Command, No Linking
\-------------------------------------------------------------------------/
Fourth Command:
This command can be used by the sysops so they can see all of the rumors.
have program key 8 and the rumor output file be the program data.
/-------------------------------------------------------------------------\
Command number : 4
1. Long desc. : (L)ook at Rumors
2. Short desc. : (L)ook at Rumor
3. Key: L
4. General SL : 255
5. AR flag: @
6. Program key : !
7. Program data : "RUMORS"
F. Flags: SL access check, GSL and AR, Normal Command, No Linking
\-------------------------------------------------------------------------/
Fifth Command:
This command is used to exit to the main menu
/-------------------------------------------------------------------------\
Command number : 5
1. Long desc. : (Q)uit to Main
2. Short desc. : (Q)uit to Main
3. Key: Q
4. General SL : 10
5. AR flag: @
6. Program key : ^
7. Program data : "1"
F. Flags: SL access check, GSL and AR, Normal Command, No Linking
\-------------------------------------------------------------------------/
That should get it to work fine.
If you picked the option for just the rumor, you may want to add this command.
/-------------------------------------------------------------------------\
Command number : 1
1. Long desc. :
2. Short desc. :
3. Key: AUTOEXEC
4. General SL : 10
5. AR flag: @
6. Program key : 8
7. Program data : "just-rum"
F. Flags: SL access check, GSL and AR, Normal Command, No Linking
\-------------------------------------------------------------------------/
Add this to the BEGINNING of the menus you want it to show up at. 1 and 2 are
supposed to be cleared, and 7 is the name of the file you chose in the
installation.
/--------------\
Next Version
\--------------/
■ Hopefully make the Install program better
■ Hopefully make the Docs better
■ Maybe add a border around the Rumor
Those are some of the upgrades coming up, I will also be fixing any bugs found
in this one (I hope that will be none). The next version should be done in 3-4
weeks.
