Greetings, and thanks for trying ENC!. This file contains a variety of
information you should read before installing ENC!. If you have tried
shareware copy of ENC! and want to register, our order form is
included separately in the file ORDER.FRM. After registering ENC!,
we will provide you technical support and will inform you of future
updates at the earliest moment.
The license agreement which governs your use of shareware version of
ENC! is included separately in the file LICENSE.DOC. Please read it
before installing ENC!. The text is written in plain English, and
clearly explains your rights and responsibilities as a shareware user
of ENC!.
For complete installation instructions, please read Chapter 1 in the
file MANUAL.DOC. You can use your printer to print the user manual
which is about 23 pages long. From DOS command line, type:
copy manual.doc prn

IMPORTANT NOTES:
If you run Microsoft Windows in enhanced mode and you use EMM386
and SMARTDRV, you must read Chapter 4 [Section - running Windows in
enhanced mode] of MANUAL.DOC. If you use On-The-Fly compression
programs such as Stacker and Double space, you must read Chapter 4
[Section - working with data compression programs] of MANUAL.DOC.

Multi-System Licenses:
Whether you are a major corporation, a small business, or an
individual with more than one computer, if you plan to use our
products on multiple systems you can save money by ordering a
multi-system license rather than individual copies.
Multi-system licenses may be used at a single site, multiple sites,
or company-wide, as long as all support and distribution are
handled through a single location.
Resale and Bundling of ENC!:
We offer a resale version of ENC!. It includes a copy of regular
version ENC!, a manual, and registration card packaged in an
attractive box suitable for shelf display. We offer reseller
discounts for this resale version. If you are a dealer, consultant,
or reseller please contact us for pricing or check off the line on
the ENC! order form.
We also offer attractive bundling arrangements for OEMs, VARs, and
consultants who wish to bundle ENC! with another hardware or
software product. The details and pricing are flexible to meet
your specific situation. Please contact us for more information.

Release Notes

1. UNINSTALL ENC!
If for any reason you want to uninstall ENC!, follow
the steps below:
A. Use ENC.EXE to obtain private access privilege using
the private password.
B. For every hard disk drive that contains encrypted
files, type
decrypt [drive]\*.* /s <enter>
where [drive] is the drive letter such as c:
C. If you have any floppy diskette that contains
encrypted files, insert it into the floppy drive
and type:
decrypt [drive]\*.* /s <enter>
where [drive] is the drive letter of the floppy drive
such as a:
D. Run ENC.EXE and choose option F3 to disable ENC!.
E. Use a text editor to delete the following lines from
AUTOEXEC.BAT file:
set enc=mono
encdrv.exe
enc.exe
Also, remove ENC! program directory from the path.
F. Reboot the system.
G. Erase all files in ENC! program directory and remove
the directory.
H. If you have renamed WIN.COM to other name as described in
MANUAL.DOC, Chapter 4 [Section - Running Windows in Enhanced
Mode], rename it back to WIN.COM.
