What You Should Have:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The files included in ET000.ZIP are:
EARTEST0.DOC -> this file
EARTEST.EXE -> the EarTest program
What EarTest 0.00 Is:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
EarTest 0.00 attempts to measure the frequency response of
your hearing using your PC's speaker. This method of testing is in
no way a substitute for testing by a real doctor. In other words,
YOU HAVE THE BRAIN CAPACITY OF GROUND BEEF IF YOU ASSUME YOUR
HEARING TEST AS PERFORMED BY THIS PROGRAM IS 100% ACCURATE!!!
Installing EarTest 0.00:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Place EARTEST.EXE in the directory you intend to use it.
What EarTest 0.00 does:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When you get to the screen that asks you to press a key when
you are ready, do so if you are ready.
EarTest generates 120 test tones at forty different
frequencies from 500 to 20 000 Hz. After a five second pause,
EarTest will sound a random frequency for two seconds, then ask you
if you heard it. If you did, answer [Y]es. If not, answer [N]o.
If you wish to quit, press "Q". When the test is completed or you
have decided to quit, EarTest will pause to allow you to write down
your results or print them via PrintScreen.
EarTest works entirely in CGA 16-color 80x25 text mode,
assuring that it will work on machines ranging from the lowliest
8088 to the Pentium. Anyone interested enough to evaluate their
hearing should be able to interpret their results. If there is any
question about your results, SEE YOUR DOCTOR!!!
If You Like EarTest 0.00... :

I originally wrote this one afternoon while fooling around
with some new graphics-like text ideas. Nothing seen here is
revolutionary. Let's just call it practice.
