  22.   This is the Latin name for our
  23. herb.  It is a bulbous perennial
  24. plant of the lily  family and is
  25. used to flavor foods.  The aroma
  26. is powerful and  onion-like, and
  27. the taste is pungent.  Garlic is 
  28. a  classic  ingredient  in  many
  29. national cuisines  yet it didn't
  30. become popular in the  US  until
  31. after  World  War II.  The  bulb
  32. contains a  natural  antibiotic,
  33. allicin.  Garlic has antiseptic,
