  21. VIEW_MAN v1.00 r01/01/94 MicroMetric <ASP>: VIEW_MAN will perform the functions
  22. of viewing, editing and/or printing a selected file in both Hex and ASCII. File
  23. selection is by menu choice rather that typing the path. Viewing and editing
  24. task features include file positioning, search for string, search and count,
  25. and search and replace. Program options may be specified by command line/menu
  26. selection and saved as defaults; a macro may be defined and run for repetative
  27. tasks. Printing may be directed to any serial or parallel port or a disk file.

  43. IBM PC, XT, AT or true compatibles operating with PC/MS-DOS, version 3.0
  44. through 6.0, any monitor, and a printer for the print function.

  65.   to sixteen text pages per sheet, to conserve paper.

  68.   backup file before exiting the program.
  69. * No limit on the selected file size for viewing or editing.
  70. * A macro may be defined through a "learning" process and then repeatedly run.

  98. ╒╡ SHAREWARE EVALUATION LICENSE ╞═════════════════════════════════════════════╕
  99. VIEW_MAN is being distributed as SHAREWARE. The SHAREWARE concept allows users
  100. to examine a program on a trial basis, at no (or minimal) charge, before pur-
  101. chasing it. In addition, by decreasing marketing costs, professional quality
  102. software may be distributed for a fraction of the cost of a comparable commer-
  103. cial product. Regardless of whether you register the program, please help dis-
  104. tribute VIEW_MAN by sharing unmodified copies of it and its files with others
  105. on a private non-commercial basis. Liability is limited to replacing the soft-
  106. ware for registered users. There is no liability for any damage or loss caused
  107. by this software, directly or indirectly.

  109. You are hereby granted the right to use the VIEW_MAN program for a thirty (30)
  110. day evaluation period. If you find VIEW_MAN of value, and continue to use it
  111. after this evaluation period, YOU MUST REGISTER YOUR PROGRAM USE. Please see
  112. the file, VIEW_MAN.ORD, for registration information. After the thirty day
  113. evaluation license period, if you decide not to register the program, PLEASE
  114. REMOVE THE PROGRAM AND ALL OF ITS FILES FROM YOUR SYSTEM.

  116. ╒╡ SPECIAL INSTALLATION INFORMATION ╞═════════════════════════════════════════╕
  117. 1.  To install the shareware version normally supplied on diskette, copy the
  118.     self extracting file "VMANvvv.EXE" (vvv is the version) to either a sepa-
  119.     rate directory - such as "VMAN" - or a directory that is referenced in the
  120.     path statement. At the DOS prompt, change to this drive-directory, type
  121.     "VMANvvv" and press [ENTER].
  122. 2.  To install the shareware version downloaded from a BBS, unpack the file
  123.     "VMANvvv.ZIP" (vvv is the version) to either a separate directory - such as
  124.     "VMAN" - or a directory that is referenced in the path statement. 
  125. 3.  To install and "BRAND" the registered version, run the supplied program
  126.     "INSTALL".
  127. 4.  To just "BRAND" the registered version without running the INSTALL program,
  128.     press [F4] at the shareware registration reminder screen.
  129. 5.  To run the program, change to the drive-directory on which it is located
  130.     (only if it isn't on a path referenced directory), type "VIEW_MAN" and
  131.     press [ENTER].
