Rib Editor Help
The rib editor is similar to the edge editor, but has a
few extra options (ie. Single & Double Title)
The icons at the bottom of the screen represent the
different functions available to you. In order these are:
~Pencil~, ~Line~, ~Rectangle~, ~Ellipse~, ~Font~, ~Brush~, ~Fill~,
~Move~, ~Warp~, ~Erase~ and ~Fatbits~. Clicking on these
icons with the left mouse button will select them. Using
the right mouse button will pop up an option box so that
you can change the available options (to pop down option
boxes use the right mouse button on the same icon).
`Option Descriptions` (L=left mouse button, R=right):
~Pencil~ - L:draw in black, R:white
~Line~ - L:draw in black, fix point or join points
R:start a new poly sequence
~Rectangle~ - L:draw rectangle in black
R:scales block (moves bottom right corner)
~Circle~ - L:draw circle in black
R:scales block
~Font~ - L:displays text in black
R:enter text to be written
~Brush~ - L:draw in black, R:white
~Fill~ - L:flood fills an enclosed area, colour depends
on starting pixel.

R:scale block
~Warp~ - L:1=select source block, 2=destination block
R:move point/scale block
R&L:select point to move
~Erase~ - L:erase in white
~Fatbits~ - L:zoom in, R:scale block
NB: warp can be used to produce 3D effects

Rib Editor Help - Special Functions
`Special Functions
~Undo~ - removes effects of last function
~Single Title~ -
The text which is entered is scaled to span the rib.
~Double Title~ -
Two titles are entered, the longer one is scaled to
span the rib, the other is written in the same font.
~Double Title 2~ -
Two titles entered, both are scaled to span width,
plus a line is drawn to divide them.
~Soften~ -
Simply removes alternating pixels.
*
Special Functions (continued...)
~Clear~ - Blanks the whole editting area
~Trash It~ -
Ignores all changes and leaves editor. If you
reach an important stage of editting and are
planning major modifications it is a good idea
to select 'Finished' and then return to the
editor thereby 'storing' your artwork. If you
mess up you can select 'Trash it' and return to
your old image.
~Finished~ - Exit editor and save image to tape cover.
NB: When editing text to be displayed by the titles,
one can change the font style by using the function
keys (F1 to F9 correspond to styles 1 to 9). The
background colour indicates the style number
(white=1,yellow=2,pink=3,red=4 etc.)

Rib Editor Help - Tips
`Tips When Designing Cover Edges
∙ Use fatbits to remove extra dots which appear when
using outline font style.
∙ Use double title 2 for two titles - it looks better
∙ Don't draw too close to edges - doesn't look great
∙ Use different font styles for tape title and artist
(bold and outline for example)
