  12.           System Requirements:
  13.  
  14.                TaxList requires an IBM personal computer or compatible
  15.                with 640k  of RAM.  A  hard drive is not  necessary.  A
  16.                color monitor  is not required, but  recommended due to
  17.                the use of color  in certain procedures.  At  a minimum
  18.                TaxList  will work off of one 720k floppy diskette or a
  19.                dual 360k  system.  Under  no circumstances try  to run
  20.                TaxList off of a single 360k diskette.  The program and
  21.                its data files require somewhat more space than 360k.

  25.                TaxList is  a fast intuitive program  that maintains an
  26.                ordered list of  tax related  financial information  to
  27.                make  April 15  a  little less  painful.   The  program
  28.                allows the  rapid entry of  random data and  sorts this
  29.                information in  chronological order  as it  is entered.
  30.                The information can be entered piecemeal throughout the
  31.                year or it can be done at a single sitting.

  33.                TaxList  produces  two styles  of sorted  and formatted
  34.                reports  on disk.  If desired, the user can install the
  35.                MS-DOS spooling/printing utility, PRINT.COM,  and print
  36.                the reports  from within TaxList.   In the alternative,
  37.                the user could print the reports at a later date.

  39.                TaxList  uses a  finite  array to  manage its  records,
  40.                making  all  operations extremely  fast.   As currently
  41.                designed, the program has room for 1500 records.

  43.                If   a   mouse   driver  is   detected,   the   program
  44.                automatically  displays scroll  bars  and  enables  hot
  45.                spots for the mouse.

  49.                TaxList  is compressed  into a  self-extracting archive
  50.                called TL.EXE.   Before  decompressing, make  sure that
  51.                the  disk   with  the  compressed   program  is   write
  52.                protected.

  54.                To  decompress   onto  a  hard  drive,   put  the  disk
  55.                containing the  compressed program into a floppy drive,
  56.                eg. A.  Change to the root directory of your hard drive
  57.                and  create a  subdirectory  called  TAXLIST, or  other
  58.                name.   Change to  this new subdirectory  and issue the
  59.                command "A:TL"  without the  quotes.  TL.EXE  will then
  60.                decompress into four files in the new subdirectory.

  66.                To decompress onto a 720k (or larger) floppy disk, copy
  67.                TL.EXE to  clean formatted disk.   Change to  the drive
  68.                with  the copy and  issue the command  "TL" without the
  69.                quotes.  TL.EXE will then decompress into four files on
  70.                the new floppy.

  72.                To decompress on a dual 360k floppy system, put a clean
  73.                formatted  disk  in drive  B.   Put  the disk  with the
  74.                compressed program in drive  A.  Change to drive  B and
  75.                issue the  command "A:TL"  without the quotes.   TL.EXE
  76.                will then decompress  into four files onto  the disk in
  77.                drive B.

  79.                When TaxList  is  decompressed  it  will  produce  four
  80.                files,   TAXLIST.EXE,  TAXLIST.LIB,   TAXLIST.DOC,  and
  81.                READ.ME.

  83.                TAXLIST.EXE         This is the main program file.

  85.                TAXLIST.LIB         This is a small file containing the data
  86.                                    used by  the  entry/edit system.    This
  87.                                    file should NOT be edited.

  89.                TAXLIST.DOC         The user's manual.

  91.                READ.ME             Contains   instructions   for   printing
  92.                                    TAXLIST.DOC.

  94.                When  the  program  executes  the first  time  it  will
  95.                produce a large (approximately  129k) data file  called
  96.                TAXLIST.DAT.  The size of TAXLIST.DAT  remains constant
  97.                regardless of the number of records in it.

  102.                please register  it by completing the registration form
