  2. │   Fax Mail is here (Beta version).                                          │

  6. │   For a while now, JOB SEARCH has had the ability to generate faxes to      │
  7. │   notify users of messages or job listings that were of particular          │
  8. │   interest to them.                                                         │
  9. │                                                                             │
  10. │   We have now upgraded our software to also allow users to post messages to │
  11. │   be faxed.                                                                 │
  12. │                                                                             │
  13. │   Simply use our new FAX command.  It will prompt you for the fax number    │
  14. │   as well as for the name of the person/company you're sending it to, and   │
  15. │   for the subject.  The latter two items are for the coversheet we are      │
  16. │   automatically sending with your fax.                                      │
  17. │                                                                             │
  18. │   Then the system'll put you in edit mode to enter or upload the text for   │
  19. │   your fax.                                                                 │
  20. │                                                                             │
  21. │   The fax number must be a seven digit number that is a local call to Metro │
  22. │   Toronto.  It must be a working fax number and it must be online when      │
  23. │   we do our faxing.  We try only twice to send each fax, twice if the       │
  24. │   line is busy.                                                             │

  26. │   The system will automatically post a message to your attention (in conf   │
  27. │   58) if it could not send the fax, or if you requested confirmation.       │
  28. │                                                                             │
  29. │   Please note that we can only offering OUTBOUND faxing, i.e. the ability   │
  30. │   to send faxes.  We will not accept or pass on faxes for any users.        │
  31. │   Sorry, but no exceptions.                                                 │
  32. │                                                                             │
  33. │   We will fax at set times during the day.  At present only in the          │
  34. │   3:00 to 5:00AM time slot.                                                 │
  35. │                                                                             │
  36. │   Of course, our standards of behaviour  also apply to faxes.               │

  40. │   During beta testing (this is new software), Fax mail will be available to │
  41. │   all users, but there is a limit of two faxes per user per day.            │
  42. │   After testing it will be available to subscribing members only.           │
  43. │                                                                             │
  44. │   During testing it may take us a day or two to get a fax out, expect some  │
  45. │   delays.                                                                   │
