  27. | 1. 05/07/93  MOD TYPES ON 3270 EMULATOR WINDOWS.            |                 
  28. |    There are different mod types available for a 3270       |                 
  29. |    emulator window, to see/change the mod type do the       |                 
  30. |    following from the Communications Manager Main Menu:     |                 
  31. |    ADVANCED > CONFIGURATION > 3270 FEATURE PROFILES >       |                 
  32. |    Select the DLC that is being used, then select CREATE/   |                 
  33. |    CHANGE > Select the session that is to be be changed >   |                 
  34. |    Select PRESENTATION SPACE SIZE. There are 5 MODs:        |                 
  35. |    a. MOD 2 - 25 x 80                                       |                 
  36. |    b. MOD 3 - 33 x 80                                       |                 
  37. |    c. MOD 4 - 44 x 80                                       |                 
  38. |    d. MOD 5 - 28 x 132                                      |                 
  39. |    e. OTHER - User selects the size.                        |

  41. |    There are two "presentation space sizes" that are sent   |                 
  42. |    from the Host:                                           |                 
  43. |                                                             |                 
  44. |    a. PRIMARY size - the default that Host sends at start   |                 
  45. |       up time - this is ALWAYS 25 x 80.                     |                 
  46. |    b. ALTERNATE size - the size that the Host will change   |                 
  47. |       to (according to application), this size depends on   |                 
  48. |       which MOD type was selected for the session in the    |                 
  49. |       3270 Feature Profiles.                                |

  52. |    There are different font sizes available on a 3270       |                 
  53. |    Emulator window, to see/change the font size do the      |

  55. |    a. Use mouse to click on the upper left side box on      |                 
  56. |       3270 Emulator Window.                                 |                 
  57. |    b. Select Emulator Operations                            |                 
  58. |    c. Select FONT SIZE, then OK                             |

  61. |    THE FONT SIZE SELECTED BY THE USER, NOT THE WINDOW       |

  64. |       present the data on the mod type selected (for ALT    |                 
  65. |       sized information) then SCROLL BARS will be displayed |                 
  66. |    b. If user doesn't like the scroll bars then they will   |                 
  67. |       have to select a font size big enough to cover the    |                 
  68. |       mod type for the emulator session.                    |

  75. | 1. 05/07/93  UNDER EXTENDED SERVICES THE FIRST 3270 SESSION |                 
  76. |    DOES NOT REMEMBER PRIOR SETTINGS AT BOOT UP.             |                 
  77. |              User has at least two 3270 sessions defined.   |                 
  78. |              If 3270 emulator sessions are minimized and    |                 
  79. |              then Shutdown is performed, when the system is |                 
  80. |              rebooted the A session comes up with default   |                 
  81. |              values (not minimized), other sessions come up |                 
  82. |              fine.                                          |

  96. |              on desktop, then all are minimized and Shutdown|                 
  97. |              is performed. When the workstation is rebooted |                 
  98. |              the previous sizing and position of the session|                 
  99. |              windows is lost.                               |

  106. |              viewer. Restore the window from the window list|                 
  107. |              or the minimized window viewer. The window will|                 
  108. |              be restored with the upper left corner of the  |                 
  109. |              window in its initial position, but the size   |                 
  110. |              will be the size of a full screen window.      |

  116. |              3270 emulator session is 43 x 80, and the font |                 
  117. |              size is 48 x 85. When session is full screen   |                 
  118. |              size the title bar goes to the top of the      |                 
  119. |              screen. If mouse is clicked anywhere in the    |                 
  120. |              center of the screen, the screen moves up about|                 
  121. |              1/3 the height of the title bar line, causing  |                 
  122. |              portion of it to move up out of the viewing    |
