UPGRADE.DOC
The primary reason for ordering the licensed copy is to obtain use of
additional memory. It is also somewhat faster. This licensed version has been
tested to 640k systems, and we believe it will make use of most of a megabyte
on an AT. In any case the licensed copy is much more useful since the space
left after a reasonable library has been loaded is much larger. We can make
much larger jobs on a 640k system than we can stand to wait to redraw. We do
not see that much more memory will be useful.
We are presently testing Enhanced Graphics Adapter Support. This version will
allow extended user selection of colors.
One defect of the present version is that the last color written overwrites the
previous color. We are coding a version which "OR"s the colors so that you
will be able to tell when two lines are on top of each other. When tested this
will be included in the enhanced version.
We will either ship the enhanced version with above improvements or send
updates. The following improvements are under consideration. We would like to
hear from users. Submit WISH.DOC.
1) Dot matrix printer plots. This can be done at present with DOS 2.0 print
screen, lots of redraws, and lots of Scotch tape. We plan an automatic
process.
2) Dual display on the EGA. There are two ways we might use the extended
memory of the EGA. One would be to give two graphics displays and a quick
switch between them. The other would be to put up some of the Setups on pages
so that they could be more conveniently edited.
3) Better setup editing. Present scheme is awful.
4) Mouse input.
5) Printed manual.
6) Move Lines, Pads, and Symbols.
7) Make (an area) a Symbol.
8) Copy Lines, Pads, and Symbols.
9) Insert points in lines.
