- ..waiting for the release of a (hard-) disk-magazine can be fun, if it comes in
- the quality of the lastest Chosneck-issue. Fine intro by Remo, fantastic in-mag
- design, great music by Nils and - most important - a whole bunch of interesting
- articles I'll read through the next days!
-
- Scenemates, don't hesitate and download this magazine! You won't regret!
-
- MSB and all the authors: Thank you for enriching the scene with another
- high-end production!
-
- Best wishes,
- Torsten
-
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- Yo Torsten! Thx for Your short but pithy comment :o) It took us so long time to
- put it all together but the final effect seemed to be well accepted by the
- scene. Moonwalker our "visual artist" deserves the credits for the general
- quality of the mag. He made all gfx stuph by himself. Buildin' the "content" of
- the magazine wasn't that easy - we were searching for new ideas to try and get
- everyone's eye to various stuff in each topic. And it seems we achieved the
- success :) If you read the editorial then you probably know that in the current
- issue we've tried to touch the subject of distressing things happening on the
- scene. But when I only remind these sensless battles directed to Moondog I feel
- the little thrill on my shoulders ;o) I hope it won't be "a repeat of the
- history" ;o) I guess you know what I mean 'coz you experienced that on your own
- skin being a part of UCM :o)
-
- Keep readin' us and don't forget to show us the lows of the magazine!
- Constructive words of criticism are very welcome!

- Chosneck-Team: Thank you a lot for this great issue of your mag. I really
- enjoyed the hours of reading that load of interesting articles.
- Great interview section! Great writing style of Saulot! Great
- Design & Tunes! Thanks to everyone of the involved people!
-
- Remo: Cool blending-effect screen! Keep on making such great stuff!
-
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- Oh No! It's You again :o) It seems You have become the steady reader of our new
- babe. What could I add? Thx for the praise, we'll try to keep or even improve
- the level of the mag, still careing about the details! Probably we will never
- manage to be -the- monthly scene publication but MSB motto is:
-
- QUALITY. THAT'S WHAT COUNTS.
-
- Keep an eye open on Remo ;o) He's learning so fast and his current skills are
- visible already! :o)

- "The diskmag scene looks bright"
- by Mark Duckworth
-
- After going through the latest selection of disk magazines for Atari computers,
- I've noticed that the situation looks far from bleak. But what is special about
- disk magazines? Well personally I have never actually peered into one. The
- latest chosneck is a staggering 7 megabytes compressed while Alive 4 is not
- absolutely tiny either. What I found however is next to stunning. Here we have
- not only the work of journalism with 30+ articles in each and every disk
- magazine but programming works of as well. The first Chosneck magazine
- features high resolution graphics as well as a VERY neat web browser-like
- environment. The magazines tend to feature high quality background music and
- some even have an intro or small demo that plays at the beginning. I was kind
- of turned off by Chosneck because I couldn't figure out how to reconnect
- the archives. So as a first, I offer the complete chosneck.zip file which is
- not separated but instead will unzip to the installed directory. You can pick
- that up in the atari-source download section. Alive magazine number 4 is
- available from the Alive Homepage. While many areas of Atari are dying, this is
- one I would highly recommend looking into. Many hard hours of work have
- definately gone into these things.
-
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- I found this report by accident on the website listed above. It looks like the
- author of this article hit the nail on the head. Nowadays the disk-mag scene
- looks far better than some time ago. Alive, Undercover and Chosneck - that's
- enough strong publications for serious rivarly! :o) I hope we won't kill the
- existence of each other as happend with atari paper magazines ;o) (e.g. STraTOS
- vs ST Magazin in France - finally both faded away from the market at the same
- time with a big loss for atarians).
-
- LONG LIVE OF ATARI DISKMAGS!

- Great job with Chosneck, great interface too ! I hope there will be more sound-
- tracks for the 2nd issue :)
-
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- Salut Toxic-dude! You were always so kind to us :o) I am so sorry to dissapoint
- You but 2nd issue is as silent as the #atariscne channel <GRIN>. Simply 'coz
- the 2nd issue doesn't exist at all... :o)
-

-
- I've only been able to enjoy REMO's intro for this issue of Chosneck and this
- is definitely cool!
-
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- 'llo SebaSTien! Well, maybe only watching REMO's intro wasn't such a big loss?
- ;o) If all goes to plan you should get a chance to read all the stuff from
- existing issues of Chosneck! (read the editorial for more details!).
- Stay Alive!
