Subject: (ztt) Propaganda CTIS 108 - Do Well
Date: 01 Aug 1998 22:07:07 +0100
Does anybody out there have a copy of Propaganda's cassette single "Do
Well" CTIS 108? If so, I would very much like a copy (CD-R/MD/Tape), or
even better an original if it is for sale (some hope!). If so, please
email me privately so that we can work something out. This is one of
the very few Propaganda Items I am looking for and has so far eluded me.
Thanks...

Subject: (ztt) Introduction...
Date: 01 Aug 1998 22:02:33 +0100
Hi there
As I'm new to the list I thought I might as well introduce myself. My
name is Simon and I am interested in most of the old-school ZTT bands,
namely Act/Art Of Noise/Frankie Goes To Hollywood/Propaganda. I have
extensive record collection by these groups, most of which are 99.9%
complete.
My interest in ZTT started with the release of Art Of Noise's Close (To
The Edit). As a young lad on limited pocket money I could only afford a
handful of the multiple releases put out by each band. Since then I
have been slowly filling the gaps - often paying over the odds for that
elusive re-re-remix 12" or exclusive white label promo mix! I have been
blessed with a few chance finds - how about the Act CT01 promo of
Snobbery And Decay - well I paid 50 pence (85 cents) for an unplayed
copy of that from a local market stall!
I have not followed much of the stuff put out by ZTT in recent years,
although I do have some 808 Sate stuff. I have followed the careers of
AON and Propaganda post-ZTT.
Well that's me introduced - I look forward to my time on the list.
Simon

For some reason I can't get beyond the intro web page at

missing something obvious on the web page to get further into the site?
Just curious...
Also, anyone willing to give up their CD of Anne Pigalle's "Everything

This is in reference to AMG's habit of not confirming information before

Hi Zteven,
I no longer write the ZTT fanzine - Outside World. By 1994 and Issue 3
it had transformed into many things including ZTT Ten, FGTHQ, TARA-
email, www.feedback.com and this mailing list (which was initally
christened Outside World Electronic).
I'll dig out the article (which I remember was a particularly huge
challenge to research and write) and post it to the list when I get a
moment! If anyone can point me to some PC shareware that can read Mac
disks and documents, it would greatly speed up the process!

Hi all. Sorry if this topic has been exhausted before, but I've just gotten
my copy of the Japanese A Secret Wish from the ZTT Now and Then Series and
I'm looking for info on the rest.
I've checked the discog for catalog nos. with WPCR in them and found quite a
few, AON's Who's Afraid?, Daft; FGTH Welcome, Liverpool; and the 808 Thermo
Kings comp.
I'm wondering which of the above (and the others) are worth a second copy
and which aren't (somewhat subjective, I know). I can only readily pick out
a few of the "extra tracks" or different mixes looking at the Lazlo's. Some
of the releases look almost exactly like the ones I have already, some
don't. Help!
Love the extra stuff on the Propaganda, and would appreciate any help in
identifying similar treats. Thanks.
PS - Am I missing a whole bunch by only searching for WPCR catalog numbers?

Well, my measurement of what's worth an extra copy usually depends on the
track listings, which you already have access to. But if you let us know what
other kinds of things would make these worth your while, I know I have a few
of 'em and can tell you more.
> PS - Am I missing a whole bunch by only searching for WPCR catalog numbers?
Well, again, it depends on what you're looking for. Searching for "CD:.*JP"
will get you a more complete list of Japanese CD releases, which leads to
quite a few more bonus tracks at least. But anything pre-WPCR is probably out
of print (some of the WPCRs are out of print already, even)...

Hello!
Did anyone hear some of the latest ZTT output yet?
Recently I got the new Adamski's Thing single "One Of The People" and the
Heights Of Abraham album "Electric Hush" - and I find it's all damn good!
Both pretty unique.
It would be hopeless for me trying to describe how they sound - I can only
recommend it anyway. Maybe you can have a listen in the shop (however the
HOA album actually needs concentrated listening to get into and really
only works as a whole thing).
BTW, my favourite mixes of the Adamski single are the Shark Tank mix and
Ashley Beedle's Dog Funk version.
Any other opinions?
Cheers
Joerg
P.S.: Heard Adamski's been on MTV's Partyzone a few weeks ago. Did

Dunno for 'Excess', but the Novecento singer/people (i.e. Nicolosi family)
had a few italo-disco hits in the mid eighties under the name Valerie Dore,
for example "Get Closer" and "The Night"...
BTW, there's a Nicolosi remix of p:Machinery-95 (italian promo only).

Hello Everyone,
Just saw this review on Dotmusic's web site at:
http://www.dotmusic.com/rm/vinyl/980824reviews.shtml
Does anyone know anything about this release? Is
this AoN's first single from their upcoming album?
ART OF NOISE `DREAM ON' (ZTT) (HOUSE)
Way Out West have produced three superb new mixes
of this Art Of Noise track. Their Excellent
Extended Mix is a dreamy orchestral journey into
breakbeat house, with beautifully moulded sounds,
lightly-aired female vocals, elegant strings and a
funky edge. The Clubbable Club Mix sees WOW opting
for a slightly more beat-driven approach, and so
will be most suitable for club play, while there is
also a condensed radio mix. Definitely one out of
the top drawer.

I just checked the ZTT site, and they have infact a lot of DREAM ON
under 'i' in artofnoise. Choose any of the numbers.
The idea is that in a limited time we - the AoN fans - can dream on with
AoN, as a warming up. The 12" is infact the anounced LP track Dreaming
in Colour ! The DREAM ON single is a 12" in a limited edition ! There
are 3 mixes: day dream, wet dream, your dream or mine.

I've just purchased an Elvis tribute CD, _The Last Temptation of Elvis_, and
one of the tracks has Holly Johnson singing "Love Me Tender". Just thought
I'd send this to the list, because I haven't seen it on the discography
under Holly's outside/compilation appearances. I don't think that the two
disc set was a commercial release, because it doesn't have any barcodes, or
anything. The only markings on it indicate that it was released in 1990 by
the NME, "In support of Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy". The catalog number
is: NME CD. 038\039
As for Holly's new single, does anyone know if he has a distributor? Does a
test pressing necissarily mean that the single will actually be released?
Please keep us informed on this, since Holly information is pretty limited
here in the US.
