Hello ZTT people,

I have been a ZTT newsletter subscriber since 1994. I am a big fan of
Propaganda. I can't wait till their new album comes out in 2000. Is it me or
is this band a little lazy. Two albums in 14 years. Whatever.

I decided to place some rare Propaganda MP3 files on a web page for you to
download.

Back in 1988 I bought two 3 Inch Propaganda CD singles from Japan at my
local CD Shop for $8.00 a piece. I noticed over the years that people
subscribing to this newsletter have been looking for these discs. (Dr.
Mabuse and P-Machinery)

Hi ztters,

While I think of it, has anyone ever mentioned BBC 1's 'The Other Half' here
in the UK? [well I have now I suppose]

Fact: It makes use of a medley of songs by ArtOfNoise using 'Kiss' as the
main hook. Does anyone know who put this medley together? perhaps it is a
'BBC version'. If no one knows, i'll ask at the beeb.

Hi all,
last night i`ve seen an old MTV video from ACT on a recorded tape. MTV writes
in the left lower corner: Group; Title, ALbumtitle; i think everyone knew this,
but here was the inexplicable.

"PANDEMONIUM"

Does anyone know, if "PANDEMONIUM" was the working title for the album, as for
"A secret wish" it was "Devils advocates" or is this a MTV pandemonium ??????

Hi Jordan,
The track you'd be looking for is called 'Close (to the edit)' and thats the
track that went down a storm in the mid-eighties (though not played all that
much on the Radio now).

Also AON remixed Tom Jones' 'Kiss' a few years later. A Medley of AON hits
can be heard today being used these days on BBC 1's 'The Other Half' using
'Kiss'/'Close (to the edit)'/and that other one with Duane Eddy - that
guitar-twanging one.

Though I'm not an AON connoisseur, I know that this will be on at least one
of their albums. The only version I have is 'Closing' which is a rare
version of 'Close (to the edit)' used as a 'promo' on IQ6.

I think it was probably the working title.  The single came out nine months
before the album and things change quickly in ZTT-land. :-)

Sorry to bring this subject up again. I ordered my Seduction of Claude
Debussy CD at CDNow with a Bonus CD of Metaforce mixes. Yes, you've guessed
it, it came without the Bonus CD. Could someone who did get the bonus CD
let me know if the bonus CD was a separate item or came in a double CD pack
with the Claude Debussy CD?
I wrote to CDNOW a week ago, but haven't heard from them...

Strangely enough I did get the custom CD, but of course only after writing
to CDNOW demanding the key...

Thanks in advance for any help on this matter.

It was packed in the same jewelbox with Seduction -- I think they just put the
early pressings in slimline 2CD cases with "metaforce" as the second CD.

Haven't anyone noticed the new "Action" numbers on the AON Seduction
realese? It is called "art of noise as the image of a group at the turn of
the century:". Here are the "images" i have:

Image 0003 : The seduction of art of noise
                    ZTT epk VHS video (Duration: 12:34)

Image 0022 : Masked
                    A-side of "Dream On" ZTT113TP

Image 0023 : Unmasked
                    B-side of "Dream On" ZTT113TP

Image 0024 : Cover of "Dream On" ZTT113TP

Image 0031 : "Dream On" US 12" promo
                    U8P-1420

The booklet of TSOCD states that the album includes images 0007 to 0023,
but that's makes a problem with the UK "Dream On" A and B sides (wrong
counting maybe?). The booklet also says the images are catalogued on the
web site. Can't find it myself...

Does anyone got another item with the 4-digit image number?
I have the 12-trk promo CD - no image number there.
Also no images on the "Metaforce" singles.

Also wanted to note that the address sticker on the pack of the "Dream On"
i got from ZTT (Thanks, Zang!) is a special one, saying
"ZTT (DREAMING IN COLOUR?)". I kept the pack... :)

Funny you should mention this :)

I ordered 'Seduction' a few weeks back because of the bonus disc.  The CD
came, but no bonus disc.  So, I wrote CDnow and explained the situation
to them.  They were very kind and told me to keep the disc I got shipped
mistakenly, and they would send me the correct release (with bonus disc)
free of charge.  A week later the replacement came -- no bonus disc.  So,
I wrote them again and explained the (now very complicated) situation.
They were again very nice and told me to keep the two discs, and they
would try it a third time.  The disc came a few days ago -- no bonus
disc.  I know have three copies of 'Seduction' with no bonus disc :)

I think I'm just going to give up :)

    Well, "Beat Box", "Close to the Edit" and "Moments In Love" were, all,
managed to crack Billboard's Top 40. Their longevity, popularity and legend
status belie their low chart positions. "Paranoimia" spent 2 months at #1 on
Mtv's Top 20 and hit around #5 on Billboard. It was so popular here in Tulsa
Oklahoma (not worth writing home about) that the DJs eventually broke their
copies. They did the same thing with Weird Al's "Eat It" and Devo's
"Satisfaction". "Peter Gunn" (that twangy guitar piece mentioned) reached
somewhere around 30-35 on Billboard and 15 or so on Mtv. It also scored them a
Grammy with Duane Eddy for best instrumental of 1986. Subsequent releases
didn't do so well after that until 1988's entry, "Kiss", with Tom Jones.
Nothing else ever hit it big on the pop charts (emphasis on the word pop). But,
they have always managed to maintain good circulation in the clubs; and
probably always will.
    This is not counting the myriad (master?)pieces that they've produced for
other people, sometimes incognito.

material, for that matter) based in any way on their chart position?
