Well, why not just aim your browser to slcd.com ? While you're there,
check out the stuff they have for Depeche Mode and Duran Duran. Now, bear
in mind that you will need to set up an account; but, I feel that it is
very much worth it. Hell, I even got a copy of an album from a band called
Ethyl Meatplow from these guys! That's been out of print for a few years.

I'm trying to put together a full list of artists who have sampled Art
of Noise. Is there such a list on the WWW somewhere? I haven't started
the list yet, but from memory it should include:
Janet Jackson
Norman Cook
Definition of Sound
Prodigy
Any other thoughts?

A few more off the top of my head:
Marilyn Manson
Bingoboys
Noise Unit
Rodney O & Joe Cooley
I know there are a lot more. I *think* Art of Noise are the third most
sampled artist of all time after James Brown and Kraftwerk..

Subject: (ztt) aon's debussy review/opinion
well i've heard it twice, and can say its a good listen, but, it is
definately an 'album' --meant to be listened to as a collective, with a
recurring melodic 'theme' throughout the work. There are many
Debussy-esque interludes and elements of his music, and there is also
narrative bits about debussys' life throughout each track.
the album version of 'dreaming in colour' is quite good and very
different from the promo mixes. the opening track "il pleure" (many
vocal samples of the spoken words:"and it rained") and the 'holy egoism
of genius' are each about 8 mins a piece.
there are some small 2-ish minute tracks near the end which are more
reprisals of themes ("pause" and "approximate mood swing no:2") with a
small musical nod to 'moments in love' at the end of 'mood swing'.
track 9 "out of this world" is very soft quiet and ambient and you get
shaken out of your skin when Rakim very loudly begins track 10 rapping
on "metaphor on the floor".
he also raps on track 6 "metaforce".
the production is beautiful, rich string arrangements on the first 2
tracks (and others), anne's gorgeous piano playing, and the soprano that
just wont go away (it seems she's on almost every track). Craftful drum
programming.

They, evidently, have run out in the past few days since I placed my last order with them. I'm looking into whether or not
they will get more. They show that "Seduction..." is on backorder, but, that doesn't mean much until they get the actual stock.

You got lucky. The copies I've seen on there have gone for about $30. One actually went for nearly $40, last week. The more
press time they get and the closer we get to actual release date, the higher they're going to go for on there.
