Subject: (ztt) The Art of Noise discography
I downloaded a copy of the AoN discography from Lazlo's site perhaps three
years ago; now that I'm looking for the updated version, I can't seem to
locate it. (Every band on earth except AoN is listed in the "discography
machine" and while the search has an impressive output, I don't know for a
fact that it's the entire discography file.) If someone could just drop me
an address, I would appreciate it.

The AoN discog doesn't exist as a standalone document, and hasn't for probably
five years. If you search the ZTT discography for "Art of Noise" you'll get
everything.

Just a quickie. There's some been some development on the Art of Noise
pages on the ztt web site. Looks like they're starting to gear
themselves up. And it looks as if Paul Morley's been near the PC as
well!!!

This is without doubt the greatest day of my life. No news is not only good
news, it's the best news I've heard since "In No Sense? Nonsense!" And I
haven't even *heard* anything yet.
Can't wait for the album.
WOO HOO!!!

Subject: (ztt) FGTH Reference in Wedding Singer
Warning: Following is the rather unsurprising line of dialog in "The Wedding
Singer" that goes along with the appearance of a FGTH "Relax" shirt in that
film. Scroll past this post if you don't want it revealed (but, seriously,
it's not anything impressive):
I don't think I'm ruining anyone's moviegoing experience by revealing that
the line is simply, "Relax, don't do it." Like most of the movie, it is just
another '80s reference among many that is not especially clever or funny,
but instead conveys nothing more than a pleasant sense of nostalgia.
And why "The Wedding Singer"'s closing credits feature a REMAKE of "Video
Killed the Radio Star" (by the President of the United States of America)
instead of the Buggles version is a mystery, considering that the rest of
the soundtrack is all pure-'80s originals. It was kind of jarring to be
brought back into the comparatively awful present-day music scene so
abruptly at the movie's end...

There's also another mix - which I have on a 7" acetate... I dont think
it appears anywhere else (certainly not officially)...
ALSO -- nice to see ZTT's mistakes catching up on them: MC Tunes
brilliant new band Dust Junkies were on prime time UK TV (TFI Friday)
last night - Tunes back again, 7 years after being dumped by ZTT... and
on the same show that says All Saints are the sexiest band ever...

Copkiller (6:20) is available on Hoodlum Priest's second album 'Beneath The
Pavement ... The Beach', which was released in 1994 on Concrete Productions
in a limited edition of 1200.
It is not listed on the sleeve, however, and it isn't even a proper track on
the disc. In fact it is in the gap between track 2 and 3, which means you
won't even find it when skipping through the tracks.
Cheers,
Alberto

Subject: (ztt) 12" mixes on cdr of some groups you might like....
Well, I'm sending this message to my fave mailing lists since you might be
interested in this. I've had a big response for those Orb cd-rs I'm making
and I thought I'd do a whole series of artists also since I know many of
you probably would like some of those cool 12" only mixes on cd, or you
just don't want to wear out the vinyl. I'm eventually going to put my
entire collection on cd so if you want a copy of stuff I have, let me know.
The following is a listing of some stuff I was going to put on cdr for some
of my fave groups. Let me know if you're interested in any of them (I'll
customize them for you if you want.) Each cd-r is $15.00 (for anything you
want and that includes shipping). I'm not going to do anything that's still
in print since that's just not right, but I figure out of print stuff isn't
too bad...If you have different suggestions for what you want, let me know.
All 12" remixes are going to be cleaned with Cool Edit Pro and Sound Forge
to reduce the noise from the original source. I hope to have the cds
sounding better than the originals...
All of the remixes come from white labels, promos, deleted or limited
singles and stuff. I do have some Dj mixes, let me know if you want em. If
you want to forward this to other interested mailing lists, that's okay,
but I am trying to keep it low key....=o) Here's a brief listing of the
bands you'll find:
Check out the following page for synth artists:
www.groovemusic.com/synthpop.html

Beloved, Boxcar, Brilliant, Gray Clail/Tackhead, Dead Or Alive (Fan the

Without Hats (Interview), New order/Electronic (Until the end of time), Pet
Shop boys, Pop Will Eat Itself, Real Life, Re-Flex, Propaganda, Swing Out
Sister, Talk Talk, Lost Tracks and One Hit Synth Wonders...
Electronic artists featured at:
