Has anyone seen the new "rockumentary" on Fred Frith? The name of it is Step
Across The Border and, here in Toronto, the reviews have ranged from
brilliant to mediocre. I'm wondering what the general reaction is over here
(or there (?)).

should be released late Summer.
I saw Pipgen twice last Saturday and both shows were amazing. The show at
Lois and Clark college was the more "rock" of both (they played all their
repertoire of "quick ass" tunes). The one at Satyricon (the CBGB of Portland)
was, surprisingly, softer, with fewer of their most energetic compositions.
Two different shows but both really exciting, without the slightest weak
moment. The audience at Satyricon was packed and I have never seen the public
so receptive about a show (meaning: listening + cheerful applause). This band
has one of the most incredible groove I have seen in a while (specially when
Wayne turn his synthesizer on "Hammond organ" position!
Future shows? You might be right, but the possibility of a tour is not
excluded (although Wayne was not too optimistic about it). I don't know for
Mike, but Fred and Briggan are very excited at the idea of touring, and the
time has never been better (two recently released records).
At Lois and Clark college, there was also Buckethead trio and I have only
two comments:
- this guy is not human
- not very exciting music (more of a showcase for Buckethead)
Patrice.

Subject: masada dates?
I was just wondering if Masada is playing anywhere in the NorthEast or
Pennsylvania area anytime in the near future. I have never seen Zorn
play live and would love to do just that. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like your store is great. For those of us not living in NYC,
could you please answer a few helpful questions?
> Downtown Music Gallery is on the Zorn Mailing List.
Could you please post the address to sign up for this list?
> We have all Masada, Avant, Tsdik.
Do you have the fourth Masada disc that is supposedly only available via
Japanese mail order?
> We are also the authorized mailorder supplier for Axiom records etc...
Do you have a catalog and what is your mailorder address? I would bet
you have many potential customers on this list!
Thanks a lot,
Mitchell

Not being a fan of 99.9% of ambient music, I found
the second disc to be quite excellent. Intense
and industrial. It sounds like it could be an
RRR release. :)

Sigh. Audio Sports is not Eye's group. He contributed
his voice for a couple of tracks but he has said in
interviews that he is not a member of the group.
In fact, he has said that he doesn't like the music.
