Subject: Zorn/Frith
I just read the slag of the new Incus release and had to counter: I
think it is really good, just really abstract improvisation. It's nice
to know that these guys can do this sort of work. I would place it in
the same category as Naked City/Heretic. Not for the people who are
brought to Zorn by the notecard compositions or the full out Naked City
shiftfest stuff, but well worth the investment by those of us who also
have an interest in, say, Jim O'Rourke or Biota.
Speaking of whom, does anyone out there know how to get in touch with
Biota? I've been trying to figure this out for a while.

ouch! does this imply that you have a problem with "_total_improvisation"
what possessed you to buy a CD by these two stalwarts of free improv then?

minimal sqwaks by Zorn and Frith.
the record sounds pretty much exactly as anyone familiar with these two
players would expect

this is the kind of shit that bugs me! how many records will you buy even
though you don't like them before you take Zorn off of the pedestal you've
put him on?
