Goldberg, Schott and Dunn (3/4 of the band, minus drummer Wolleson) did an
album called "Almost Never," which you can find on the Nuscope label:
http://www.nuscoperec.com/ Really cool stuff.
It's the same kind of gentle, swaying stuff, minus the Americana
atmosphere, if I remember right. Goldberg and Schott also perform as a
duo around the Bay Area once in a while and get a very "Ghost of
Electricity" sound going.
Most of their stuff hasn't been in that vein, however. As people pointed
out, the first Junk Genius had a faster, jazzy pace. Goldberg's other
albums, like "Twelve Minor" (on Avant/DIW) also are more directly "jazz"
sounding, although that one's got some slower, more meditative tracks too.
Haven't heard Schott's Scrambledisk project.... Trevor Dunn's album,
"Debutantes and Centipedes," is way way different, mixing acoustic bass
and slow slow power-chord guitar metal.

The Improvised Music from Japan website lists Ron Anderson and Elliot
Sharp and others (http://www.japanimprov.com/haco/schedule.html).
Hope it helps,

There's a big difference between, say, Eldritch or Ubik and Valis. Vails is
autobiographical, and it would be hard to understand the book without
knowing the author's obsessions, his way of writing, etc. Of course, reading
it would not hurt, it's a great book anyhow. PKD '50s stuff is not as good
as hois later output.

CDNOW now has a release date for the new Naked City
live album as May 7th!
Is this more trouble with the art work or
something? I've been waiting for this album since
Feb.
