problem number one is that im trying to run pro tools on my home pc (a
gateway) with the hard drive about half full (im working on that as i type).
my studio experience was all analog 24 track - so i wanted to dable in the
ever evolving digital world - i fought it off for years because i despise
ADAT's and the "digital" sound. anyways i dumped the 32 track version today
and im running the 8 track demo version. it's useless with this latency
problem. there must be an adjust within the pro tools preferences to manage
this, but i dont what it is or what to do with it.

Subject: Fantomas/Melvins
I wanted to say I really didn't think the Bigband disc was all that bad. I
used to own quite a few of the Melvins discs but traded them away, I sure
would like to hear them one more time because the old mind is weak and I
can't remember much. But anyway heard the live Melvins album the other day
and really couldn't take it. Just like Merzbow, I can't take the harsh stuff.
Although I didn't get the joke with the Melvins disc. I held onto both
Fantomas discs but maybe you could point me to the one Melvins disc to own
again. I sure would like to listen per the posts.

Subject: Re: japanese singers/mmw - uninvisible
i wasnt aware this conversation was occuring, but i recently
heard a mr. bungle show where mike patton sings a couple
verses in japanese. it caught my ears and i have been going
around singing these unknown words for the last couple days.
can anybody recommend some well known japanese singers (male
or female)? it doesnt have to be avant garde related, maybe
better that it isnt. somewhere in the realm between
traditional, commercial and avant garde i guess.
also i havent noticed anybody bring up MMW's new album
'uninvisible' which was released yesterday. i picked it up
today and i've been playing it non-stop all day. defiently a
step back towards the 'shack man' era. the disc is not as
dark as say combustication and the dropper, but it defiently
has the elements that made those records amazing. billy
martin's percussion is well represented as well. i would
highly recommend it even for the uniniated.

I enjoyed it for what it was - a goofy, rowdy free-for-all. I generally like Patton in theory a lot more than I like him in practice, though, and I wish he woulda kept his mouth shut during "Night Goat," cuz it doesn't seem like he knew all the words. Maybe that's not the point, but it's one of Buzz's better numbers. It was fun to hear the audience getting obnoxious and surly during Dave and Dale's hi-hat duet, though.
I need to buy more Melvins, that's for damn sure, and I was stupid not to see them last year. (But not as stupid as I was to miss the Prince show last night that Kurt was gloating about earlier, which I completely forgot about because it was barely promoted...)
