Ad copy = text for advertisements. But Lucas did more than write marketing
blurbs for Columbia - he was responsible for Tim being signed.

I've known Tony Buck for over a decade and released a CD of his with Otomo
Yoshihide, Kato Hideki and Michael Sheridan called "Peril" in 1992/3 (see
Patrice's Otomo discography). I'd like to reissue it if Tony and the others
would grant me the right. I will confess to finding the Necks on CD a bit
too slow but if you listen to Peril you will see that my tastes run wilder.
The Necks are absolute media darlings in Australia and their shows are well
attended. It is hearsay (never made it through the door) but they impress
with virtuosic playing and their ability to entrance a room full of people
over a long minimalist repetitive set or two.

5. CHARLES WUORINEN - Epithalamium (Tzadik 7077) Four masterworks
from one of the greatest composers of the 20th century, spanning
over
three decades. Mr. Wuorinen is a NY born composer who has always
pushed the limits of instrumental and electronic music. Chosen
for
this exclusive Tzadik release by longtime fan John Zorn, this cd
features the Pulitzer Prize winning composition "Time's Encomium",
"New York Notes" which brilliantly blends electronic tape with
acoustic instruments and two extraordinary miniatures from the
nineties - "Epithalamium" for two trumpets and "Lepton" for
celeste,
harp and piano. Marvelous! $14.

Did you miss that whole brushfire that K8 accidentally set off a few weeks
back by innocently refering to Wuorinen's aesthetic as "shit"? Methinks s~Z
was yankin' the collective chain...
