Well, I had only known his work from the Ground-Zero samples and a
borrowed disc from Jon or Tom which I liked a lot. This one's a bit
different in that he's collaborating with some musicians from the jazz
tradition, including Kazutoki Umezu and Wolfgang Puschnig. I think the
mix works pretty decently, though Kim's sound is so strong (and I like
it so much) that I find myself concentrating on him and hearing the
others more or less as accompaniment (less so with regard to the
percussionists who seem more naturally integrated). So, I like it but
figure I'm missing industrial strength Kim, which I'd guess would be
more likely achieved in a "traditional" (insofar as you can refer to him
as such) Korean context. He'd be about 79 by now--is he still
performing/recording?

yeah, the only one I've heard so far which I'd place in this category is
Shamanistic Ceremonies of the Eastern Seaboard (JVC). it's a cultural crime
that there aren't more prime examples of Kim available on CD.

I have no idea, sorry. it's very hard to find; I think I found mine at one of
the major chain stores in NYC.

Yeh, well, try google-searching "Chomsky" and "holocaust deniers" or
"Chomsky" and "Khmer Rouge."
I'll leave it at that. (Sigh.)

Just some arrogance here,
if you allow me.The Bitchney Spears cover is NOT Mr.Bungle, but instead a ''band'' called ''The ping pang band''.They just released this song,as far as I know, and,if you notice,in one part the guys sings ''my loneliness is killing Mike''...funny.Also,the romanian song-is it instrumental? If so,my guess is that probably it isn't Mr.Bungle, but the Secret chiefs 3,a more arabic/jazzy/surf-music like project...finally,most of this Zorn/Bungle/Patton related stuff can be found (and downloaded!) at ftp.bunglever.com .Now,something I'd like to ask:what is Dying ground?I only know Eyving Kang, who played with the SC3,is on it...what does it taste like?
