  128. in a safety deposit box, and sleep in a padded envelope.

  191. Another Frenchman to stick up for Cibo Matto... I think you should give their 
  192. first album "Viva! la Woman" a try ("Stereotype A" is quite disappointing 
  193. compared to this unfortunately). It also has some downtowners on board such as 
  194. Dougie Bowne and Dave Douglas. And as Patrice said, the most important is that 
  195. it is a fun record to listen to. Buy it, invite your best friends for a party 
  196. and play this record. It's rad.

  262. i'll agree with patrice, XRedbirdxx. cmatto is just a fun band. very fun live.
  263. not especially important, but a good time. but lemme add to that that if all you
  264. know is stereotypea, you're missing the point. i think that record's a bore, and
  265. i do sorta wonder if it's over for them. too glossy. viva la woman and the first
  266. ep are far better, more quirky and better, funnier, more unusual lyrics. viva
  267. has similiar guests, too. unless lighthearted fun bands don't hold your
  268. interest, trade in the stereotype and get one of the first 2.

  362. What is this?  I'd like to be filled in on it too.  I've got the 4-disc
  363. "Collected Works" and Rituals but I haven't heard about more material being
  364. out there.  I found Rituals one day in a used CD store, got it for about
  365. $9 - still sealed and with the OBI, believe it or not.  Very raw stuff, even
  366. compared to the live disc in the Collected Works set.

  543. this fairly thoroughly. this will be the third record Douglas releases on 
  544. BMG, available in June of 2001. at least some of it's already been recorded.

  599. I can't get to my copy immediately, so I can't name off specific artists.  
  600. Musically, it's all over the place- a bit schizophrentic at that- but such 
  601. diversity is the allure of this sort of release.  I've always looked at it as 
  602. the "downtown" version of Duncan McKay's ReR-related _Miniatures_ 
  603. album/project, released on the Tube label back in the early 80's (and 
  604. recently re-issued on Voiceprint, IIRC) that introduced this type of multiple 
  605. artists/one minute songs thing.  It's not something that would stay in my 
  606. player for weeks on end, but something I've listened to more than just a few 
  607. times.  You'll find music you enjoy and some you won't enjoy so much.  I'd 
  608. recommend ownership, indeed.

  690. a really disappointing lineup, at least to me. I'm probably skipping it this 
  691. year after attending the last 4, although I am considering driving up just 
  692. for the Saturday shows. I hope this is a one-year phenomenon, because I 
  693. really enjoyed this festival the past few years. I wonder if their funding 
  694. was cut; there are considerably more Canadian and US artists than in previous 
  695. years.

  698. Musician's Collective festival in late May.
