Not to mention that the music is fantastic! It is supposed to be mainly
improvised, but it sounds to my ears like quite a bit of structures are
involved (which knowing Wayne and Bobby should not surprise anybody).

I post this only because I have had many =09
questions on the topic:
The way to download an entire real audio file,
rather than just listen to the streaming audio is:
1) Go to the site and hit the sound link.
2) Let the link start playing in real audio.
3) Stop real audio player.
4) Go to the cache directory of your browser
5) Find the most recent *.ram, something like M0rhpt6n.ram
6) open that *.ram file with the most primitive text editor you have
(MS Notepad will suffice).
7) You will find that the contents of the *.ram file are one line,
something like
<bigger>pnm://orang.orang.org//RIS-DATA/907253290/98_10_01.rm
This is the location of the 6MB music file
8) Using Netscape 3.0 or 4.0, go to =20
orang.orang.org//RIS-DATA/907253290/98_10_01.rm
</bigger>Do not include the pnm://
9) This will bring up the "Pick App, Save File" Dialogue Box.
10) Choose save file. This will save the file as the *.rm file of your
choice
This works just fine.=20
This method works so long as the site which holds the *.rm file
is not password protected (as are major commercial sites.)
I say do this with Netscape, but I suspect you can do the same thing
with MSIE. I just haven't tried.

Subject: Naftule's Dream celebrates new Tzadik CD at Boston Sublingual-Tautology show
Sublingual Records (Along with fellow Boston label Tautlology Records)
has been presenting a series of avante garde jazz, rock, electronic music and
noise at The Middle East in Cambridge, MA, and on this Sunday night (for
those of you in the area) we will present a CD Release party for Naftule's
Dream (along with Cheap Suit and dissemble, which features members of
Lawrence Cooks Disaster Unit 2000, Saturnalia, etc.). Naftule's 2nd Tzadik CD
"Smash Clap" is available now.
"This is without a doubt the most startlingly original, audacious music I've
heard since the previous Naftule's Dream CD, last year's 'Search for the
Golden Dreydl'. What else can you say about a band that combines klezmer
music and free jazz with feedback guitar into an organic, fully realized
whole? It's a remarkable balancing act of discipline and unabashed noise,
technical brilliance and a completely contrary punk/no-wave aesthetic." -
Bill Milkowski, Jazz Times, April 1999
The group is comprised of:
Glenn Dickson - clairinet, David Harris - trombone, Michael Mclaughlin -
accordian, Peter Fitzpatrick - guitar, Jim Gray - tuba, & Eric Rosenthal -
drums
Also cellabrating the release of their new CD on Tautlogy Records, Cheap
Suit (featuring Peter Warren - guitars, Jeff Hudgins- reeds, Nate McBride -
bass, Mike Bullock - bass, & Curt Newton - drumset) will perform. The
musicians have worked with such top area groups as Debris, Lombard Street,
the Joe Morris Trio, Dull Thud Trio, Saturnalia, Mass Eye & Ear, etc.
"Cheap Suit is 'all over you' with exciting, post-chordal improvised music."

For whoever asked about the availability of Mingus and Dolphy sessions
on Candid. I checked the on-line All Music Guide and see reviews of discs
like Charles Mingus Presents Charles Mingus and Mingus with late
1980s/early 1990s publishing dates. I guess if those Candid CDs aren't
still available-- who distributes Candid these days, da music? -- check
used CD stores. There's even something called Eric Dolphy on Candid, made
up of sidemen gigs he did for the label.

i know there have been a lot of questions about zorn scores. the book

Ignore that. I was wrong. Doing that just saves a link

David's method works w/ MSIE, though.

You don't know what you are talking about.
I just repeated your prescription above
with MS Internet Explorer version 4.0
and what was downloaded was the 1 KB *.ram
file. This still forces you to stream the
6 MB sound file. This thread was about a
method to download the sound file, not the
real audio link to the sound file.
