(No, it's not a X-Files episode!)
I'm watching the soccer meeting DORTMUND-MANCHESTER - the referee
is Swiss (!) and named MEIER !!!
It is not Dieter (!), but is it a person of his familly ?!
The surname of my granny is MEYER (!) and there are a lot of people
named like this in Alsace (my department) without to be of her
familly !
All the way... it is a funny coincidence, isn't it ?!

(Y)hello,
Europa Park (Rust) - for those who don't know - is an attraction parc
very famous in Germany.
In their Laser Show On Ice 97', I had noticed last sunday a Yello
participation with GOLDRUSH. The show was, moreover, very good too -
a very nice day !!!

(Y)hello folks,
Boris (very tired) and Dieter (wearring sunglasses!) was interviewed
on MCM (french music channel) there are some days ago to talk about
their work in general and to Pocket...
Between some clips (To The Sea, Jingle Bells, Rubberbandman and How
How), Dieter confessed that his idea to work with Carl COX came
because he likes what he was doing in his work. They are old friends
and it was sure that they had to work together a day !

There are 3 albums of Carlos PERON availables to my CD store :
La Salle Blanche, Impersonator 3 and Pipper Und Unholde.
What is the best for a first time, knowing that I would like to
buy something close to Yello style and with good melodies if
possible ?! But did Carlos really like to YELLO' (and Boris) style ?
Thanx ahead,

Subject: (yello) POCKET UNIQUE WORKS
Date: 01 May 1997 23:13:38 +0100
(Y)hello colleagues !
I've made my own *Pocket Voyager* (Gismo) - the little creature on
the booklet of POCKET UNIVERSE ! For those who want, here are my
recommendations to make it in the best conditions - and they are
F R E E !=B0)
You'll see... By connectic, and authentic and... bEaU<tI<fUl, you
will success !!!
You need (a lot of patience and...) about 15$ :
- 1 black electronic socket (*1)
- 2 blue electronic sockets (*1)
- 2 yellow electronic sockets (*1)
- white plasticine (*2)
- 2 resistors (take your booklet and ask if they have those on it in
your electronic store - it means that brown is old!)
- 1 set of POKER dices
- 1 metal tube (diam. 2mm) about 45cm
- 1 round wood tube (diam. 15mm)
(*1) it's called like this in France !!!
(*2) I think that the author of this work doesn't used a dryable
dough ! But I recommande you to buy one if you want to keep
it ! After tons of plasticines tried, I can tell you that a
good air-hardening clay (like OMYA COLOR - Plastiroc) is the
best way to make a perfect work.
PREPARATION:
-----------
1> Cut a piece of wood tube about 20cm. Make a point of 2,5cm with
a cutter to an extremity and paint in blue. Let dry.
2> Make 18 pieces (about 2,5cm) of metal tube with a saw.
3> Cut (very badly) the 12 angles of 2 dices with a knife.
4> Unscrew (a bit) nuts of each sockets to place them like on the
picture and then block them with a point of *super glue* that you
put under each nuts.
5> Bend brooches of elements to make a *L* like indicate following:
.-******-.
--=B0 =B0--
- ATTENTION !!! ELEMENTS HAVEN'T THE SAME SIZE -
=2E..if you can : solder the points of elements to make it more robust !
View from above : .--****--.
/ \
\ /
=B0-******-=B0
ASSEMBLE: LOOK ALWAYS YOUR BOOKLET TO MAKE IT CLEAN!!!
--------
1> Make a square (2,5cm X 4cm) of clay and take away some of it to
place eyes.
2> Place dices without to forget to put a right clubs (at left) and
another turned (at right) >>> BOOKLET
3> Place the two elements in the middle (brown at left and green at
right) and hide metal brooches with some clay and water.
4> Place the 5 sockets like following :
- BLACK in the middle, BLUES near and YELLOWS next -
...well, like on the picture what!?
5> For metal hairs... BE CARE-FUL !!!
There are only TWO ways to drive them in (oblicle) and... THAT'S
ALL !!! If you want to do it like on the model (like me), Do It -
if not, drive them in like you want (you're free) ! Begin to drive
tubes by the middle, in front.
6> Drive the blue tube piece in the head and let dry now.
> Keep 2 dices leaving, you can make him a girl-friend with 2 leds <
>>>> as earrings and small shoe nails for hairs per exemple !!! <<<<
I haven't done the original box, but it looks like a floppy disk box
painted with a special ink that you will found in a toy store - the
small candle on left (and maybe right!) side could be a transfert !
Okay now...
Good work (c),
!=B0)

The name MEIER or MAYER is the most common surname in Germany and Austria
(and maybe in the German speaking part of Swizerland too)
It is like Smith or Miller in the English tongue countries.

Well, I decided to test the MPEG audio myself and now I have put
the Unbelievable available to ftp://ftp.funet.fi/pub/culture/
music/western/Yello/songs/. This must be as rarity as the Nuns
On The Run in the soundtrack CD --- no, I don't have the NOTR.
Remember how we disliked the Unbelievable when it came out?
Time passed by and I learned to like the song; it is actually
quite nice. The melodies are okay, vocal effects are okay, and
the song works!

I didn't know Nuns on the Run was so rare... I bought a copy a few years
ago and like the version of "On the Run" on there better than the one on
Baby. It sounds more organized or something, and "cleaner" if you know
what I mean! My humble opinion, of course...

I haven't heard this for so long...my copy of the remix has been in storage
on the other side of the state for years! I've gotta get it back. One of

Both the Nuns on the Run and the Unbelievable are available only
on the soundtrack albums. At least I have not found either of them
and thus I wrote they are equally rarities.
Don't listen to Unbelivable remixes! I wrote only about the
Unbelievable made by Boris and available on the soundtrack album.

Is that one on the 12" single? I can't remember, it's been so long... but
I think I only saw the soundtrack once, and at the time I had no idea Yello
had anything to do with it. I was young and ignorant then... now, I'm
older but still a bit ignorant.. :)
