Don't forget that tastes differ. If you don't like something it doesn't mean
that this something is bad! Motion Picture is great album, as usual, and you
seem to be rude!!!

A man came to a circus and asked a manager, "Won't you be so kind to employ
me?" "Well, what is your skill?", a manager asked. "I can imitate the birds",
said a man. "Ha, it's so easy! Many people can imitate the birds. No, I can't
employ you".
"As you like", a man said, opened a window and flew away."

Hi all!
Have you ever heard of this strange 'Golden Collection' of Yello? I just
found it in an auction at ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=514151396
Still one day left to bid for it!
Anyone with further information about the origin of this compilation?

Hi,
I know that there exists a serie of Russian bootlegs called 'Golden
Collection'. It might be one of those, as I dont think it is an official
release...

Subject: (yello) Yello "sighting"
Date: 09 Dec 2000 16:45:46 EST
I sold a non Yello item via eBay to a person that happened to live near me
here in Southern California. He stopped by to pick it up rather than go
through the mailing process.
We got the talking about collecting & he , being an LAPD police officer, had
begun collecting police related items. When he asked what I collected I was
reluctant to answer Yello as it is so often followed by "Who's that?" When I
fessed up, he admitted to knowing the popular songs & had a story to tell.
A few weeks earlier while he was on the job, he responded to a well-to-do
section of L.A. where a bomb threat had been called in. He described going
into what was once a wine celler of a historical site house that had been
converted into a state of the art studio. There were four men there that knew
the bomb threat was bogus and called in by a disgruntled sound engineer (or
similar) that had been fired earlier that day.
As they looked through the dwelling the parties inside told them they were
the recording group Yello. I showed the officer some pictures & he thought
both Boris & Dieter were present and in his estimation were working on a film
project.
Funny thing ending this story, when the suspect was arrested & given his
mandatory phone call-he called in another bomb threat to a different
location.
I have since become friends with this policeman as a result of our exchange
and promise to fill in the empty spaces in this story.
happy holidays
Fred

Is there a problem with the Yello Universe Web Ring? I have recently
added a small Yello section to my web page, and applied to have the site
placed in the Web Ring, but haven't heard anything since. Also the Yello
Universe 'Home' page is no longer in existence. Is there no longer a
Ringmaster?

I believe David John has retired from that.

-> Mark, All,
Yello Universe.
The Yello webring is more or less retired for several reasons:
When I first initiated Yello Universe it was my thought and intention to
bring all Yello webmasters a bit "closer together" to share and interact our
sites and content. But - despite the large interrest in the webring - the
interaction was lagging a bit. Of course I, as ringmaster, could've tried to
drive things forward a bit but... *cough* ...never got around to it ;-)
When Webring.org merged with Yahoo! it became close to impossible for me to
maintain management of the ring.
The new "mildly challenging" interface at Yahoo!. A signup procedure which
was caught in an errorloop ( something had happened to the Yello Universe
account ). - And my limited time, brought me to close down the ring about
month or two ago while I was/am in the progress of shutting down SUITE 909.
However, I couldn't find the contactlist of members and queued sites when
shuting down the ring, so I appologize to all Yello Universe members (and
queued sites like Marks') who've been wondering what was happening. Marks
message reminded me that it probably would be a good idea to let you all
know :-)
Kindest regards,
Ex-Yello Universe Ringmaster
David John

Subject: (yello) Which Web Ring should I choose? and the Yello server.
Date: 27 Dec 2000 19:34:46 -0500
I noticed that there are two different web rings for Yello. The "original"
Yello Universe http://nav.webring.yahoo.com/hub?ring=yello&list (14 sites)
and Yello United http://nav.webring.yahoo.com/hub?ring=yellounited&list (3
sites). My question is: Which is the "correct" one to sign up to. I was
originally part of the Universe ring. Does it really matter?
I've held off the FTP and HotLine Yello servers due to the lack of interest.
I only saw one person that was very enthusiastic about it. I may still do
it, but it will be a while.
Still enjoying all of my Yello collection. I can't get tired of it (I can,
however, get tired of waiting for new material ;) )

Thanks David. Yep. It's been TOOOO long ;) Ever since I got a real job, it's
been hard to keep up with the Yello Pagez and all the other projects I have
on hold, including a Sound Theme for the new Desktop Theme, and a Sound
Theme for every album that Yello has put out (At least the ones I have in my
collection ;)) I guess if and when I get some vacation time, maybe I'll be
able to get something done.
I'll get myself switched over to the new ring ASAP.
Greetz as always :)
