Subject: (yello) New subscriber saying hello!
Just found out about this mailing list - talk about behind the times! Anyway
nice to have joined it at last. Having read my way through the archives it
seems that there was a lot of discussion about PU when it was released - but
not much seems to have been said about Motion Picture yet. So I thought I'd
be one of the first to say how much I love this album - I think it's their
best since One Second without doubt! I think it's a brilliant and natural
progression of their "original" sound - it's the album PU should have been.
For those of you that want to know - I "discovered" Yello when The Race was
released (back when I was a youthful 16), I caught a glimpse of the video on
TV and was immediately drawn to the fact that there were two
fortysomethings(?) prancing about like teenagers having fun, and that the
song itself was a slice of brassy perfection. I haven't looked back ever
since! Anyway here's my list of my top five favourite Yello albums;
1. One Second
2. Motion Picture
3. Stella
4. Flag
5. Baby
Yep, they're all what you would term "new" Yello - I make no apologies for
this!
No doubt someone has said this already - but as a fan in the UK I'm finding
it very difficult to find a record shop in the London/South area that does
more than one copy of the latest album, can anyone recommend a good import
shop for all the CD singles I've missed?
Matt Faithfull.
