Subject: (TrekTrade) Bad Traders...
OK everyone, enough is enough. This list is for TRADING! Let's get it
back to that please.
As for bad trader alerts... Sometimes they are necessary. However, they
definitely need to be handled differently on this list. Since I am the
list-owner here and have final say I'm going to try and be an arbitrator
(just call me Jean Luc) to help resolve these problems. I will then post a
message that includes the two parties stories as well as my decision on
whether to remove anyone from the list or not.
So, if you have a bad trade with another member of TrekTrade please contact
me with all relevant info on the bad trade. (e.g.: who it was with, what
it was for, how much time has elapsed, what's been sent, what's been
received, what's been done to resolve the problem).
I will contact the accused to hear their side of the story. If necessary I
may request other trade references from each party (these will be kept
private). I may also ask the list for info on any previous trade dealing
with either party.
I do have a couple of other options available to me but both would require
alot more work on my part and I don't have the time. Hopefully this type of
problem won't come up very often.

From: "C. Curtis Engel" <curtis@open.org>
Subject: (TrekTrade) Aftermarket TOS1 trading slump?
This week, I realized that since TOS1 came out, I've gotten only two trade
offers involving them through my web page. (For comparison, I get several
offers every day involving other post-1990 sets.) Usually, I get a lot of
offers involving recent releases, but no one seems interested in these.
Any comments on this? Maybe, because its a limited edition, relatively few
people will even attempt to collect them?
After I get my TOS2 haves/needs listed, I'll have to post my lists for
TOS1+2 to Trektrade.

Subject: (TrekTrade) Topps 76 singles
I have 74 singles from the Topps 76 set. (The full set is 88 cards....)
Wanting to sell singles (or as a set if there is interest) If you have
needs for singles, email me your list! $2.50 each, I was thinking! Less
for larger quantities!

In a message dated 98-05-30 16:06:40 EDT, BAMacF@aol.com writes:
<< If you are truly sincere about dragging me into this, as you say, then here
is
your opportunity to get me out.
First: the details of my trades are in my reference.
Second: I will not provide you with reference names, some of whom subscribe
to trektrade, because I got into this mess because you asked for and I sent
you a reference. I will not be party to dragging another 50 plus names into
this battle. I won't even name the 3 traders who have listed me as a good
trader on their own web pages. (Out of common courtesy, I didn't even name
the trader who would not trade with me, and I don't even know him.)
.....if u gave him the names of the people who u have traded with.. he would
ask them for references too... and he would probably post bad things about
them without ever having dealt with them... as he did u...
he doesnt care who he hurts or what effects what he does has..
he is only interested in trying to make himself look good... and taking the
attention off of himself... and fabricating stories so that he is backed up..
his postings are obviously fraudulent... and he lies horribly...
that much is obvious... barbara.. u should not have to offer him references
to prove that u are a good trader to him after he assumes that u are not...
that makes no sense... thats the kind of thing he does... and look how fast
he rushed into doing what he did... when posting a bad trader alert on u..
he doesnt even know u.. but cuz i used u as a reference.. he figures
u must be evil too... im amazed that anyone on this list puts up with him...
but obviously some of them dont see thru what he is doing...
i have been ignoring the majority of his mailings.. as im sure most others
are as well... they seem to come in duplicate to me anyway... so i just
delete them... i have had many many things to say back but i figure
thats not the point of this mailing list.. so i decided against it...
i know he lied.. u know he lied.. others who know me and u know he
lied.. but its a shame that he uses this method to redirect negative
attention away from himself.. making it appear that hes doing a good
deed when in fact he is the one who has stolen from me.. and taken
advantage of the power of the posting procedure...
You do this instead, if you are truly sincere:
Put postings asking for references for me on the trading boards and allow the
people I have traded with to speak for themselves. Post me on dejanews, all
the non-sport boards, the web rings, wherever you think a trader might be.
Be
sure to include the international boards as I have 3 Canadian, 2 British
and
1 German reference. And remember ebay - I have a 10 star rating there (I
don't buy alot of cards, I trade mostly).
...i have been on ebay for months.. now.. a few months.. and i have
41 positive references on ebay... under another name... which shall
remain unknown to prevent any undue negative attraction...
god knows he would just become a member of ebay and post bad things
on there... to hurt me.. and he will probably do that to others too...
it would be interesting if he was offered that option to see what he
does with it... but i dont think its a good idea to let him have that option..
This is not alot to ask, you did more planning and work to get my reference.
If you mean what you say above, then you should not mind doing this.
I'll expect my retraction to be posted very shortly and, of course, posted
more than once since my name was in your postings more than once.>>
....yes he did... he went beyond normal measures to deceive me.. to get me to
send him a list of references.. and to get more info from me...
how else would he know that i still have some of the items that i have sold
and traded off in my collection or list??? he uses several names and spends
and exhorbitant amount of time online plotting and scheming to hurt others
reputations.. and the whole time.. the purpose is mainly to turn attention
away from himself... and onto others... so everyone thinks.. gee how nice
and wonderful of him to warn us about so and so...
well... thankfully it hasnt worked.. and i have been trading a lot of
people...
some from this list.. who have seen that i am honest.. and i do send what i
say i am going to....
i am part of atleast ten other mailing lists.. where trading is done...
and i have never had any problems with anyone... other than the two
from this list...
it is a pity that one or two can ruin such a good list of trading and
selling...
my reference list stands up.. and i maintain that i have never ever ripped
anyone off... and that i have been in the mail order business since
1980... and online since 1995...
in my many many 1000s of postal transactions.. in that almost 20 yrs..
i have never had this kind of trouble...
but then again.. i didnt deal with that many 22 year old children...
who have little else to do but post derogatory comments and lies
about others.. some of whom they never even dealt with...
how sad... and to use some facts with the lies only makes all the
comments .. fraudulent or otherwise.. seem all that much more
believable...
thank u for reading...
