  5. I have recently added a new soap recipe to the collection at Majestic
  6. Mountain Sage.  I call it "Winter Sunshine".  It is my attempt to remind
  7. me of warmer and brighter days.  It is scented with Lemon Zinger,
  8. Stressfree (a chamomile type) and sandalwood fragrance oils.  The soap
  9. is a base of palm kernel, sunflower and shea butter.  The soap is
  10. colored a bright lemon yellow by using the Lemon Yellow dye.  The soap
  11. lathers wonderfully and has a bright lemon scent.  Any changes that I
  12. might make in the future would to increase the sandalwood from 1 ml to 3
  13. ml and increase the Stressfree from 6 ml to 8 or 9 ml.  Other than that
  14. small change, this soap recipe is a keeper!

  39. Hey Sage-News Friends-

  41. Last week I spent a couple of days at home taking care of a sick 
  42. little girl.  As a result I had the opportunity to put the final 
  43. touches on a number of recipes I had started ages ago and never got 
  44. around to finishing.  I thought some of you might enjoy trying them 
  45. and giving me a little feed back.  I'll release them over the next 
  46. couple of days as time permits.

  48. I have found through teaching classes and doing a variety of 
  49. different workshops that people are very divided when it comes to 
  50. salt scrubs. They either prefer the oily gooey ones or the paste 
  51. variety.  I have created two different recipes, "Spa-erific" is a spa 
  52. style scrub, it has oily texture much like many of the commercial 
  53. brands that I'm sure many of you are familiar with.  Plum Wild is my 
  54. second version, it has a much more solid feel to it similar to a type 
  55. of body scrub paste.  Hope you enjoy them.

  62. Plum Wild Body Scrub-

  65. Ingredients-
  66.  
  67. .50 lb fine salt
  68. 3 ounces jojoba oil
  69. 1 ounces sunflower oil
  70. these two oils and their amounts can be interchanged to cut costs.
  71. 4 ounces Melt and Pour Soap Base
  72. ( I used transparent )
  73. 1 ml Lemon Zinger Fragrance Oil
  74. 1/2 ml Pear Fragrance Oil
  75. 1/2 ml Currant Berry
  76.  
  77. Measure your ingredients into a large enough container to allow for 
  78. adequate stirring.   I like to use an 87 ounces bucket. After your 
  79. ingredients have been weighed into bucket in the above order, mix 
  80. thoroughly and transfer into desired containers.

  82. This is a  more viscous salt scrub it's not as oily and drippy as the 
  83. Spa-erific salt recipe.  Yields approximately 10 ounces.

  110. Spa-erific Salt Scrub

  113. 24 ounces Fine Grain Sea Salt
  114. 1 ounce Jojoba Oil
  115. 3  ounces Sunflower Oil
  116. 4 ounces MMS Liquid Soap Base
  117. 2-3 ml desired fragrance
  118.  
  119. Mix all the above ingredients together. Add your fragrance. Once your 
  120. scrub has been transferred into the desired containers and allowed to 
  121. sit for awhile the salt will settle. There will be about a 1/4 of an 
  122. inch or so of liquid/oil on the top. Don't panic this is very typical 
  123. of this type of scrub.

  125. I like to pick up a pair of exfoliating hand mittens and a jar of 
  126. this scrub, combined  with a nice long shower, I feel like I spent 
  127. the day being pampered at the Day Spa.  Well...., almost!
