I recieved my package. I loved the ediable. The magnet i thought was a
valintine not easter. the pin was nice but it was more Christmas. I
liked the sack with the eagg and ribbon. The tissue paper was nice too.
The imagies and the background paper I used to make my Easter cards,
thanks. I have a hard time beliving that the stamp cost $8.00, it was
cute but small. The embossing powder was nice, I loved the color but it
was only half full. The pad was nice too. The confittie wasn't easter
either. This was my first swap like this and Iam not sure I want to do
this again.

Gee, I wish this was a "big" birthday. With all these cards coming it
would help. Today brought a wonderful card, envelope, and picture from
Carolyn Woo. Thanks, Carolyn, wish I'd thought of that. It's a nice
idea. Love the dancing couple on the front of the card.
From Paula Jo a pretty postcard in my favorite shade of blue with a
color coordinated stamp. Quite clever!

Subject: Re: RS: Shipping Containers
Just a quick question for Martha (or anyone with great shipping container
ideas).... .....when you have received these great and imaginative shipping
containers, how do they look. What I mean is, for example, do they cover up
the peanut butter label with a label they have made? or just stick a label
over the peanut butter label so it can still be seen (and did they tape the
lid on...I assume they did). And the same for when then sent pop tart boxes
or tv dinner boxes. Did they just stick a label on the box? This sounds so
wonderful!! The only "unusual" thing I have sent is a pop bottle, which is
pretty tame by todays "standards". Any other neat container ideas to send
through the mail are always welcome. Thanks

Subject: Re: : RS: TAN: Cast Itching BIG NO NO!
Judy,
When my mom had to wear a cast on her ankle for nearly 6 months, the
itching was awful. She was also told not to put anything sharp or metal
down her cast for the same reasons CowPost noted.
What she ended up doing was crazy but it worked..well better than getting
an infection! She tied cotton ball to the end of a chopstick <G> and
saturated it with one of the cortisone creams or the numbing salves/creams.
She then worked the 'loaded' cotton ball and rubbed it where the worst
itch was. It seemed to work and I'm assuming it's relatively safe.
Blessings and I'm thinking anti-itch thoughts!! <G>

From: "Kimberlee" <kdick@bc.sympatico.ca>
Subject: RS: 04/15 Technique Swap update!
Here is an update for this swap!!!! We are getting some neat ideas. Come one
everyone, you all know a technique that you can share with the others. This
will only be successful if we get a wide range of ideas in the book!
Duplicates of some technique would be ok, such as Pearl Ex - there are lots
of different things you can do with it. You might want to email the other
person to make sure you are doing different things.
I will break the book into three catagories:
1. card making techniques (shaker cards, flinger cards, pop up cards,
stained glass cards, etc)
2. stamping techniques (aluminum, velvet, shrink plastic, water, air etc)
3. other techniques such as backgrounds, paper making, watercolor, chalk,
dry embossing, etc.,
SWAP: The Technique Book Swap
HOSTESS: Kimberlee "The Hockey Widow" kdick@bc.sympatico.ca
DETAILS:
1.You choice:
a. a small sample of your technique for each participant. This will mean
that you will recieve a sample for every technique in your book. This is
the most popular idea. It will be great to have all these examples.
b. 6/5 or 11/10 or 21/20 (yes some have already said they want to send
20!) cards using the technique that you are submitting
2. You also send an black and white 8 1/2"x11 page that gives instructions
on how to do your technique (if you send cards, please describe how to make
the card). It has been asked that we decorate this sheet however we want. I
would like everyone to put thier name on it and a little bit about
themselves, other than that do whatver you want.
WHAT YOU RECEIVE: You will recieve a booklet (I will supply the duotangs -
pls dont request colors, I will go nuts!!!) of all the technique submitted
plus the amount of swaps that you sent (minus the one for the hostess)
SIGN UP DETAILS: I will allow signups until April 15th. I will post the swap
signups every day so that you can see what has already been taken and choose
a different technique. After the 15th I will no longer be taking sign ups
(unless I get an emergency drop out and need someone to take over that
technique).
POSTAGE: I will price out the copying costs and will post them asap.
DEADLINE: Postmarked June 1st. The reason the postmark is so far down the
line is because I want to ensure a good turnout before people start making
thier items. The booklets will be copied and returned as soon as everyone's
stuf has arrived. I will not hold this swap!!!
IDEAS FOR TECHNIQUES:
Water cards, stained glass cards, brayer ideas, book style cards, tri-fold
cards, Swing-a-ling cards, Roller Shade cards, Hidden Message cards, etc.
etc. etc
Joseph's Coat, Shrink Plastic, Pergamano, Scrapbooking with stamps,
layering, stamping on leather, 3-D laquer, Neon Embossing, Blending (Dove

Hey Deb
I like your idea of the recycling stamp! I always reuse containers. I have
a hard time hearing that someone actually complained about a mailer that was
not new! I also use tons of packing tape because I've had problems in the
past with boxes and mailers tearing. Anyway - recycling is definitely the
way to go!

My cast didn't stay on long enough for an infection! Also I didn't
scratch, just slid the knitting needle up and down. I told the doctors
and they didn't say a thing. The cast was taken off and redone about
every two weeks.
I think I also said IGNORE IT. Easier said than done.....
