Please don't do this! Or a coat hanger or anything else that can scratch your
skin! DH and I were ortho medics in the AF and have seen the results! Nasty
infections!! Yuck! You won't even feel it cutting your skin probably, but
then all that sweat and moist, dead skin breeds the germs. You don't know how
bad it is until your cast starts to leak and ooze (sorry, but that's what
happens!)
Best recommendations: take some benadryl, try to ignore it, use an ice pack on
the cast (one that won't leak)--but don't leave it longer than 15 minutes, or
use your blow dryer on cool or air setting to dry out the area under the cast.

Hello All:
I found a company on the Internet that sells UM's in full 5x7 or 8x10
sheets.
5x7's are $10.00 and the 8x10's is $15.00. I lost the address. So if
this sounds like a company you know, please let me know. It's not

I want to add my thanks for the adorable butterfly RAK you sent me this week.
I think mine got broken, tho'--was it the kind that is supposed to flutter out
of the card? There were a couple of small pieces of clay in the envy that
looked like they came off the butterfly. I think I saw this demoed once, but
didn't think it would be something I'd ever master. Thanks for thinking of
me--it was still a very nice card and pretty butterfly. Mona

My friend and I just went through this this weekend. I told her I wanted
to attach the pin backs with a plain white label to hold it to the back of
the laminated piece. But the DH's wouldn't listen. First they tried hot
glue, fine, until it dried for awhile. Then it popped right off the
laminate with very little help. Then they tried some other glue, then
apoxy, then linoleum seam sealer, none of them worked. FINALLY, they used
my labels! Ta Da !!
Good Luck!!

Nisa,
I'm going to make some assumptions:
You received either 2 pieces of plastic or 4 pieces. If 2, one is =
rectangular and one is pretty square with one corner lopped off and a =
rectangular hole in the middle. If 4, two rectangles (different sizes) and =
two lop-cornered squares (different sizes).
Work with 2 pieces: Lop-cornered square and the rectangle that is just a =
little bit smaller than the rectangular hole in center of square. Put the =
rectangle aside for the moment.
1. Lay out your paper, pretty side up. Put square on top with corner =
opposite lop-corner facing up (this corner is the envelope flap). Move =
around paper until you have located the prettiest/most-complete scene or =
whatever showing within rectangular "window".=20
2. Hold plastic down firmly and rip the paper around the edges of the =
plastic.
3. Turn paper over (pretty side down, same position otherwise) and replace =
plastic (same position).
4. While holding square in place, move rectangular piece (previously put =
aside) into the "window". Center the rectangular in hole and hold it down =
firmly while you remove square piece.
5. Pretend rectangle is your card and wrap paper around it in this order: =
left side, right side, bottom (lop-corner side), top.
6. Unfold top and slide rectangle out. Refold top and crease all sides =
firmly.
7. Use double-stick tape or glue to attach inside sides of bottom =
(lop-corner) side to the left and right sides.
8. Apply envelope glue to inside edges of top side for future licking =
(yum) or close with a sticker!
If any of this is unclear, feel free to write.

Lynda B. lent me her kreate-a-lopes because I'd never seen them before and =
'cuz she lost the directions and was hoping I'd be able to figure them out =
(me figure this out ,yah, right - I didn't even know you could lift that =
clear plastic bar on my little Fiskars paper cutter until Sunday and I've =
had the thing for 3 months!). Anyway, I can't figure it out - can someone =

Okay, I admit I'm bored. I want to know the strangest thing you've ever
recycled in your stamping. Mine is not very imaginative. Bubble wrap
for backgrounds until it's shot! Anybody else?

From: Bob Richie <rrichie@idt.net>
Subject: RS: RS Rainbows Recvd.
This was such a lovely and amazing group of cards! Everyone took the
theme and came up with something different and lovely. Deep cardstock
was used, a pastel look, a bold and bright card and watercolors and a
book. Everything so different from the other and so gorgous! Thank-you
to Sandy for hosting and for her card
Sandy used deep purple cardstock, stamped and embossed a most beautiful
poem about rainbows in black and also some rainbow like sparkles coming
off the ep. She then made a rainbow over the side of the poem, using
gold and interference colors that shimmer. (Hope I am getting this
right, not sure that is what you used here) and also a fancy edged cut
out of Greetings from somewhere over the rainbow. Inside was yet
another lovely verse-God's Love is a Rainbow We Can Carry in Our Hearts.
Such a lovely card.
Anita B. used glossy cardstock to color with bright rainbow colors,
which were then ep'd over with clear, The verse in the middled of the
rainbow is "It takes both rain and sunshine to make a rainbow! A sun is
in one cornor and a rainbow ribbon with some fine gold cording attached
on the other corner. Lovely card.
Rubbearheart -Paula used a pastel look to produce another lovely card.
It took me awhile to figure out how she did the background and then I
realized, this is pastel rainbowy wallpaper. It looks so well, used
this way as a background to the 3'd Rainbow is my favorite color. The
bottom is fiscar edged and she sponged in or colored in pale pink on the
cardstock that shows beneath and with a rainbow ink she stamped inside
and embossed Your Friendship Lifts My Heart. Lovely card.
Raine for a totallly different look, used watercolors and used them to
such great advantage. Makes me want to take out the watercolors. She
cut out her card with fancy edging all around and layered a background
water colored, fancy cut background in blues purples and greens and on
top of that background sits a rainbow colored fish. Lovely card.
Sue made a little book. I thought I would only get to see pictures of
little books. Can't beleive I get to examine one and see how really
neat they are. Lovely little rainbow book If we Look Down We Will Never
see Stars. Used wire to put in the little holes and beads, a little
heart charm. Fun.
Thank-you all so much!!

I don't think most people mind, either. I had a big stamp
made that says "all our packaging materials are reused or
recycled. Please pass them on." I stamp it all over the box
before sending, so people know that *I* know I'm sending out
used boxes.

I mail old shoes to people on a regular basis. Paint 'em, paste stuff on 'em,
slap
some postage on it, and they're gone. Also rubber Swiss cheese.

From: PAR521 <PAR521@aol.com>
Subject: RS: Two part image swap
BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND
Please read carefully and make sure you want to commit to the entire swap. We
did one of these earlier in the year and it was great fun.
This swap is to be done in two separate steps.
Part A:
1. On 5 sheets of 81/2 x 11 cardstock stamp and emboss 4 or more images of the
same stamp. Use your judgement to decide how many will comfortably fit on one
sheet of cardstock. (An extra sheet for the hostess would be nice but not
necessary)
2. Write the name and/or company of the stamp and your email addy on the
sheets.
3. Color one of the images on each sheet. (Your choice of medium)
4. Send to me by April 30. When you sign up, I'll send you my addy.
Part B:
1. You will receive 5 sheets with different images.
2. Make a card using one of the images from each of the sheets and return to
the hostess by June 1. Do not use the colored image you received in the card
you make. That is there only as a guide. You will actually make 5 cards.
3. You will eventually receive 5 cards for the images you submitted.
Send two return labels and $3 postage or cash (no strips or checks) to cover
both exchanges.
If interested email me.
There will be a limited number of players because I want to be able to keep
everything straight.
Pat

Robin, thought you might like to know this, too:)
At places that sell art supplies for schools, you can sometimes find ethnic
markers--in everyone's flesh tones--and Crayola markers also come in these
colors. Our Learning store had colored pencils, markers, and crayons in these
colors. Also packs o paper, and shapes like hands and little people.
