LOL, I know I'm on the edge of my seat waiting fot the boy millionaire one.
And I'm sure the rest of you would prefer to watch Bette Midler over your
favorite Roswell cast member. ;-)
Well, I guess some of you got some TV Guide spoilers recently. I'll place

Okay, now that we know Tess isn't [apparently] Nasedo (although some believe
it's Ed Harding, Tess' father), she gets captured. I'm guessing at this
point that she'll probably be killed... so you Tess haters may have
something to look forward to? :) Actually, I don't feel she fits with the
rest of the cast either. It's just too weird...

tess is going to be captured? by whom?
i am one of those that does not like tess AT ALL.... and i do not believe
that she is "one of them"... i think that all the "flashes and flashbacks"
have been tess induced and not at all true... i believe she is manipulating
everyone.
i don't know *who* tess is, not sure *who* her dad is.
since Roswell has moved to monday night, this show has picked up a pace that
leaves me with questions/confusion and jaw dropped.
i luv this show! i have from the first ep to the most recent one, and i want
MORE!
i hope that the article in Time gets attention from the powers that be at
the WB.
bette midler? what is that all about? ewwwwwwww!

Subject: [roswell] Four Square Inconsitency
I finally got to see Four Square on Saturday, and I
really enjoyed it. But one thing really bothered me.
They seemed to re-write some of the history to
make this episode work.
In The Balance, Max told Liz that he and Isabel
found each other first, but that they could sense
someone else. Then they found Michael.
But in Four Square, they all came out of their
pods together (with the exception of Tess) and
left together.
I hate inconsistencies like that!
Also, I've always wondered if Max, Michael or Isabel
had gone out into the desert to search for the pods they
came from. If I just mysteriously appeared in the
desert, I know I'd go back frequently searching
for clues to my identity! :)

But Tess seemed to be helping Max remember something. So either she was
faking the whole thing, or the children's memories weren't very stable and
Max's memory from back then isn't particularly reliable. He was six, after
all.

Maybe, but if they don't remember where they were picked up, they could have
given up. And they could only start searching recently when they got their
car.

All three aliens were getting flashes from their human partner during that
episode, although a big deal wasn't made out of Michael or Isabel. Liz was
the only one getting flashes from the aliens. But whereas the aliens got
flashes of their human's lives (at least from Liz and Maria) Liz was getting
memories of... at first you might think the aliens on the ship, if they were
put into suspended animation, but the orb-burial memory is from either Nacedo
or the orb. So either that memory was implanted into Max, and Liz was picking
it up in lieu of his childhood, or Nacedo or the orb was basically
actively transmitting directly to Liz through Max.
Currently I'm thinking that Nacedo isn't that friendly toward humans, and
thinks the four aliens should be with their own kind, and is helping Tess
achieve. The other part of this is that the orb either wants the kids to be
happy or wants them to intermingle with humans; the orb was calling to Liz
because it likes her, because of her attitude, and possibly is able to only
because Max's healing of her left things inside of her which it can control.
But my evidence for this is none. Gods know if _anything_ was actively
contacting Liz in the writers' minds, or if they're just spewing what seems
cool at random times.
> stepping in and changing his destiny.now max and tess don't really have
> a connection,tess seems to have more of a connection with isabel.the
Under my theory, each pair of aliens does have a connection, either
established in the pods or hooked up arbitrarily now. This connection
consists of "they're strongly drawn to each other, because that's what Nacedo
wants"; references to impersonal destiny or fate are meaningless. All three
aliens _want_ a human; this is not the same kind of psychic/chemical attraction
they are finding for each other. Without other interference Maria and Alex
are in for heartbreak as their partners get dragged together.
Max, in addition to wanting Liz, also has a sort of connection with her, from
healing her and mind-melding with her and the orb slowly trying to turn her
into an alien. (I'm way into my little world by now, in case you can't tell.)
So he has an extra defense against Tess, and will be severely torn. Pressure
will be put on to pull him away from Liz or scare her off. Or kill her.
And while I'm babbling, I might as well say that I think the spiral is meant
to be the galaxy (duh) and is a basic symbol of alien civilization, which I
would like to think is based in several source species, which have all
engineered themselves into the psychic shapeshifter form. The 'book' Tess
rescued I'm guessing is some quasi-religion text; what is 'written' in it is
either Nacedo's own rantings or some isolationist/elitist belief system: at
any rate, that aliens should stick together.
But tomorrow I'll learn what Nacedo has in store for Liz, so I guess I should
stop wasting time here. It may destroy everything.

OK,first I'd like to say that this is my first post, so I hope I'm actually
doing this right. We'll see soon, I guess.
Anyway, this is not really that big of a continuity error, I mean it doesn't
really have an affect on the plot or anything but I thought I'd mention it.
In Four Squared, when it shows the Isabell coming out of the pod she has
long hair(down her back), but in the pilot when Liz is connecting with Max
and gets the flash of Max and Isabell in the headlights of the Evans' car,
her hair is short(above her shoulders). Not really something important I
suppose, but when I watched Four Squared, it was something that I noticed
right off.

You did just fine, Harmony, and I have to add a couple of things to this
thread:
First of all, I just got finished seeing tonight's episode, so I won't spoil
it too much for that mysterious RayneFire2 (and others who have to watch it
on Saturdays), but it was an *incredible* episode. Definitely a
heart-pounding sequence of events, and the promo for next week must be
especially good since they even advertised the title of the episode ('The
White Room').
As far as the inconsistency, I had a big problem with this too. The first
thing that bothered me was the intro/teaser was too closely wound together
and if someone hadn't seen the previous episodes, they would have been very
confused as to whether they were watching prior shots or the current
episode.
Anyway, as far the mini pod squad, this too bugged me. But I suppose we're
meant to believe that Tess was able to stimulate Max's memory to before they
were even wandering in the 'desert' (never mind they hatched at some ranch.)
Then, Isabel's fear that she might be pregnant; This bothered me most of
all, because it seems that 'dying' shows tend to pull stuff like this to get
viewers, and I certainly hope that isn't what it was about. I also certainly
hope that reviewers won't take it the same way, and dismiss the show to be
canceled.
But after seeing tonight's episode, it's clear that it should have been a
two-parter since it really helped build upon the next. As a stand alone
episode, it was too hard to focus on all the turn of events.
Okay, that's all for now. :)

Jason and Shiri are magnificent actors. It was a tear-jerker of an ending
and next week's does not look to be any happier. I really hope I can keep
myself busy for the days until next Monday b/c I do NOT want to wait.

Hey Guys,
Wow. I am completely amazed by this last episode. I really thought that =
though there were some weak points, that it led to some amazing plot =
developements. Overall, I thought what pulled this together was Jason =
Behr's acting. I know some thought it was questionable last week and =
that he was "phoning it in" but I thought he was just incredible =
tonight. More on that later though. Here are some thoughts and =
observations:
1) Isabel and Michael(non romantic): Even though she didn't have that =
many scenes tonight, what struck me first struck in this episode was how =
adament Isabel was that Tess and her own pod memories were wrong. For a =
long time, we've known that Max wants things to remain the same. If he =
could have his way, he would probably marry Liz, have kids and live =
happily ever after. However, we've only once or twice(most notably in =
The Toy House) seen how important it is for Isabel to maintain the =
status quo too. I just thought it was interesting that Isabel kept =
saying that "this can't be right." Did that strike any of you? I thought =
it was just fascinating to see Isabel be confronted by her alien side =
and panic. I also found it interesting that yet again, Michael is the =
only one that really wants to know about his origin. I guess in many =
ways, Michael is quickly becoming the strong one. He wants the answers =
to his past and doesn't seem to be afraid to confront them, no matter =
what the consequences.=20
2) Tess: Okay I again hate to say it but I really am having a difficult =
time feeling anything for this character and in this case, I do blame =
the actress. I'm sure Emilie is a great person but she just isn't doing =
it for me. Rather than coming off as someone who has been "suffering" =
for many years, she comes off bratty. I almost laughed during her scene =
with Mr. Harding/Nasedo in the rock formation. She was acting so =
insolent and child-like, not scared or victimized as she has tried to =
portray to Max. I also had many issues with the big revelatory scene =
with Max and Tess at the jeep. I felt nothing. Tess speaks of Nasedo not =
having a human side and yet the acting was so stilted that it seemed =
that neither did Tess. In the hands of a better actress, I would feel =
she was a threat to Max and Liz. I would also feel for her and =
sympathize with her situation. I feel nothing. Any Tess lovers/Emilie =
supporters that can help me see things differently?
3) Michael and Maria: I am really more concerned for this couple than I =
am for Max and Liz. As Max and Tess have more scenes together, and their =
lack of chemistry becomes more evident, I feel even more strongly that =
Liz and Max are soulmates. Michael and Maria on the other hand have me =
wondering. I really like Isabel so for me, she is a legitimate contender =
for Michael's heart. I also think that Katy and Brendan have an =
interesting chemistry, that has made me believe that something could be =
there. I've seen Isabel "mother" Michael and I believed it. I also =
believe this new incarnation of their relationship. Call me crazy, but I =
think there's something there. Then again, that doesn't make it any =
easier for me to see Michael be so cruel to Maria. "Our stupid =
relationship" Oh that was wrong in so many ways.=20
4) Destiny and Fate (again) and Engineered versus Birth: It seems we =
have a new ingredient to add to the pot. We've all been questioning and =
debating the twists and turns of fate and destiny but now we have =
something else to consider. If Michael, Max and Isabel were in fact =
engineered and not born, then perhaps their emotions have been also. Max =
can proclaim, "We control our own lives. I won't let any book tell me =
what to do" all he wants but he's still having visions and fantasies =
about Tess. Destiny and fate may play a huge role in human lives but how =
about lives that have been pre-determined already. I am dying to see =
where this goes and to see in what ways, if any, Michael, Max and Isabel =
have been affected.=20
5) Liz and Nasedo Max: Okay, was I the only one creeped out by Nasedo =
Max? Jason was just awesome! I think what made their scenes together so =
frightening for me was how callously Nasedo manipulated Liz's feelings =
for the real Max. He knew that she would go with "Max" anywhere without =
question. He was so shady.=20
6)Valenti and Pierce: I really liked the game of cat and mouse they were =
playing. I liked that Valenti was so suspicious of the new deputy and =
that he was treating him like a peon. I also loved how the deputy turned =
out to be Pierce and that Valenti is now quickly becoming an ally to the =
aliens even if he isn't aware of it yet. Either way, Valenti's =
involvement is necessary at this point I think. He has to get involved =
if we want this character to continue to grow. We need more William =
Sadler and this is a great way to do it.=20
7) The Carnival Scenes: Though I thought the mirror fun house scenes =
went on a minute or two too long, I really enjoyed the symbolism behind =
it. The distortion of the reflections. The not knowing who anyone really =
is. The inability to trust anyone anymore. It was great. I also thought =
it was quite a moving scene to see Liz and Max touch hands through the =
glass. It was like their worst nightmares come true.(though it looks =
like next week's episode is going to be even worse) Being so close and =
yet so far. Wanting to be together but having a barrier, no matter how =
transparent, come between them. Max isolated from Liz because of "who he =
is" It was brilliant.=20
8) Jason's acting: This is the part where I gush. I really thought he =
was amazing again tonight. Jason has the most expressive eyes I have =
ever seen and tonight was a perfect example of that. I could tell during =
the carnival scenes which Max was which just from the softness in his =
eyes(the real Max) or the coldness in them(Nasedo Max). Once again, =
another stellar performance from JB. As a side note, I was able to watch =
Rites of Passage of this weekend(Jason's Victor Salva directed movie) =
and he was awesome! Those who haven't really seen Jason do anything else =
other than Roswell will be surprised by the transformation.
9) That horrifying ending and its implications: I was literally crying =
along with Liz when she broke down and said that "they have Max." This =
is the culmination of 20 episodes of hiding and pretending that the =
aliens were "untouchable." This is what they have been afraid of all of =
their lives and it's finally happening. When Jason squatted down to the =
ground and wrapped his arms around himself...I was just so moved. I can =
only imagine what is going to happen to Max next week. Pierce has =
finally gotten the alien he wanted. Next week is going to be so =
difficult to watch.
Some minor observations:
A) Did anybody else want more emotion from Maria tonight? I couldn't =
believe that she didn't rip Michael a new a-hole when she overheard the =
pregnancy discussion between Michael and Isabel. What happened to =
firecracker Maria? Have they completely changed her character again?
B) Where the hell is Kyle?=20
C) I loved how Michael was the one to hug Liz after Max was taken. I'm =
not sure if it made sense but I certainly like how he instinctively did =
it.
D) I hated the Isabel and Alex scene at the Crashdown simply because I =
thought they should have let us see Alex's reaction to the "pregnancy."
E) Have the writers just completely obliterated the Jim/Amy =
relationship? That sucks. I thought they were so cute together.=20
My Weekly Shallow Post: A shirtless Max. That jeep scene was devoid of =
any sensuality but by God, it's always nice to see a shirtless Max. Next =
week looks like dreamers all over the world are going to be =
happy!(including me) :) I thought the car scene with Liz and Nasedo Max =
was pretty hot too(the way they flirted and she climbed aboard the =
Behrminator was so cute) Sure, it turned out he was a killer which is =
always a downer but up until that point, I was a happy camper. ;) I love =
Majandra's new hair and Katy has never looked more beautiful. Brendan is =
always adorable. I wanted more Alex in this but at least got a few =
scenes with him which is more than I can say for poor Nick. What's the =
deal. More William Sadler has been cool too. I am liking Valenti more =
and more each week. :)
All in all, another great episode. I wanted more romance in this one but =
I guess we can't always get that. I'm sad to see this season end soon =
but am confident that our fight has not been in vain. Can't wait for =
next week. Take care all! :) Gina :)

<BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff>
<DIV><FONT color=3D#000000 size=3D2>Hey Guys,</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT color=3D#000000 size=3D2></FONT><BR><FONT size=3D2>Wow. I am =
completely=20
amazed by this last episode. I really thought that though there were =
some weak=20
points, that it led to some amazing plot developements. Overall, I =
thought what=20
pulled this together was Jason Behr's acting. I know some thought it was =
questionable last week and that he was "phoning it in" but I =
thought=20
he was just incredible tonight. More on that later though. Here are some =
thoughts and observations:</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3D2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3D2>1) <STRONG>Isabel and Michael(non =
romantic)</STRONG>: Even=20
though she didn't have that many scenes tonight, what struck me first =
struck in=20
this episode was how adament Isabel was that Tess and her own pod =
memories were=20
wrong. For a long time, we've known that Max wants things to remain the =
same. If=20
he could have his way, he would probably marry Liz, have kids and live =
happily=20
ever after. However, we've only once or twice(most notably in The Toy =
House)=20
seen how important it is for Isabel to maintain the status quo too. I =
just=20
thought it was interesting that Isabel kept saying that "this can't =
be=20
right." Did that strike any of you? I thought it was just =
fascinating to=20
see Isabel be confronted by her alien side and panic. I also found it=20
interesting that yet again, Michael is the only one that really wants to =
know=20
about his origin. I guess in many ways, Michael is quickly becoming the =
strong=20
one. He wants the answers to his past and doesn't seem to be afraid to =
confront=20
them, no matter what the consequences. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3D2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3D2>2) <STRONG>Tess</STRONG>: Okay I again hate to say =
it but I=20
really am having a difficult time feeling anything for this character =
and in=20
this case, I do blame the actress. I'm sure Emilie is a great person but =
she=20
just isn't doing it for me. Rather than coming off as someone who has =
been=20
"suffering" for many years, she comes off bratty. I almost =
laughed=20
during her scene with Mr. Harding/Nasedo in the rock formation. She was =
acting=20
so insolent and child-like, not scared or victimized as she has tried to =
portray=20
to Max. I also had many issues with the big revelatory scene with Max =
and Tess=20
at the jeep. I felt nothing. Tess speaks of Nasedo not having a human =
side and=20
yet the acting was so stilted that it seemed that neither did Tess. In =
the hands=20
of a better actress, I would feel she was a threat to Max and Liz. I =
would also=20
feel for her and sympathize with her situation. I feel nothing. Any Tess =
lovers/Emilie supporters that can help me see things =
differently?</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3D2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3D2>3) <STRONG>Michael and Maria</STRONG>: I am really =
more=20
concerned for this couple than I am for Max and Liz. As Max and Tess =
have more=20
scenes together, and their lack of chemistry becomes more evident, I =
feel even=20
more strongly that Liz and Max are soulmates. Michael and Maria on the =
other=20
hand have me wondering. I really like Isabel so for me, she is a =
legitimate=20
contender for Michael's heart. I also think that Katy and Brendan have =
an=20
interesting chemistry, that has made me believe that something could be =
there.=20
I've seen Isabel "mother" Michael and I believed it. I also =
believe=20
this new incarnation of their relationship. Call me crazy, but I think =
there's=20
something there. Then again, that doesn't make it any easier for me to =
see=20
Michael be so cruel to Maria. "Our stupid relationship" Oh =
that was=20
wrong in so many ways. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3D2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3D2>4) <STRONG>Destiny and Fate (again) and Engineered =
versus=20
Birth</STRONG>: It seems we have a new ingredient to add to the pot. =
We've all=20
been questioning and debating the twists and turns of fate and destiny =
but now=20
we have something else to consider. If Michael, Max and Isabel were in =
fact=20
engineered and not born, then perhaps their emotions have been also. Max =
can=20
proclaim, "We control our own lives. I won't let any book tell me =
what to=20
do" all he wants but he's still having visions and fantasies about =
Tess.=20
Destiny and fate may play a huge role in human lives but how about lives =
that=20
have been pre-determined already. I am dying to see where this goes and =
to see=20
in what ways, if any, Michael, Max and Isabel have been affected. =
</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3D2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3D2>5) <STRONG>Liz and Nasedo Max</STRONG>: Okay, was I =
the only=20
one creeped out by Nasedo Max? Jason was just awesome! I think what made =
their=20
scenes together so frightening for me was how callously Nasedo =
manipulated Liz's=20
feelings for the real Max. He knew that she would go with =
"Max"=20
anywhere without question. He was so shady. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3D2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3D2>6<STRONG>)Valenti and Pierce</STRONG>: I really =
liked the game=20
of cat and mouse they were playing. I liked that Valenti was so =
suspicious of=20
the new deputy and that he was treating him like a peon. I also loved =
how the=20
deputy turned out to be Pierce and that Valenti is now quickly becoming =
an ally=20
to the aliens even if he isn't aware of it yet. Either way, Valenti's=20
involvement is necessary at this point I think. He has to get involved =
if we=20
want this character to continue to grow. We need more William Sadler and =
this is=20
a great way to do it. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3D2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3D2>7) <STRONG>The Carnival Scenes</STRONG>: Though I =
thought the=20
mirror fun house scenes went on a minute or two too long, I really =
enjoyed the=20
symbolism behind it. The distortion of the reflections. The not knowing =
who=20
anyone really is. The inability to trust anyone anymore. It was great. I =
also=20
thought it was quite a moving scene to see Liz and Max touch hands =
through the=20
glass. It was like their worst nightmares come true.(though it looks =
like next=20
week's episode is going to be even worse) Being so close and yet so far. =
Wanting=20
to be together but having a barrier, no matter how transparent, come =
between=20
them. Max isolated from Liz because of "who he is" It was =
brilliant.=20
</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3D2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3D2>8) <STRONG>Jason's acting</STRONG>: This is the part =
where I=20
gush. I really thought he was amazing again tonight. Jason has the most=20
expressive eyes I have ever seen and tonight was a perfect example of =
that. I=20
could tell during the carnival scenes which Max was which just from the =
softness=20
in his eyes(the real Max) or the coldness in them(Nasedo Max). Once =
again,=20
another stellar performance from JB. As a side note, I was able to watch =
Rites=20
of Passage of this weekend(Jason's Victor Salva directed movie) and he =
was=20
awesome! Those who haven't really seen Jason do anything else other than =
Roswell=20
will be surprised by the transformation.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3D2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3D2>9) <STRONG>That horrifying ending and its=20
implications</STRONG>: I was literally crying along with Liz when she =
broke down=20
and said that "they have Max." This is the culmination of 20 =
episodes=20
of hiding and pretending that the aliens were "untouchable." =
This is=20
what they have been afraid of all of their lives and it's finally =
happening.=20
When Jason squatted down to the ground and wrapped his arms around =
himself...I=20
was just so moved. I can only imagine what is going to happen to Max =
next week.=20
Pierce has finally gotten the alien he wanted. Next week is going to be =
so=20
difficult to watch.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3D2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3D2><STRONG>Some minor =
observations</STRONG>:</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3D2>A) Did anybody else want more emotion from Maria =
tonight? I=20
couldn't believe that she didn't rip Michael a new a-hole when she =
overheard the=20
pregnancy discussion between Michael and Isabel. What happened to =
firecracker=20
Maria? Have they completely changed her character again?</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3D2>B) Where the hell is Kyle? </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3D2>C) I loved how Michael was the one to hug Liz after =
Max was=20
taken. I'm not sure if it made sense but I certainly like how he =
instinctively=20
did it.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3D2>D) I hated the Isabel and Alex scene at the =
Crashdown simply=20
because I thought they should have let us see Alex's reaction to =
the =20
"pregnancy."</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3D2>E) Have the writers just completely obliterated the =
Jim/Amy=20
relationship? That sucks. I thought they were so cute together. =
</FONT></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT color=3D#000000 size=3D2><STRONG>My Weekly Shallow =
Post</STRONG>: A=20
shirtless Max. That jeep scene was devoid of any sensuality but by God, =
it's=20
