  279. I just saw Access Hollywood here in NYC and Oh my Lord, Jason and =
  280. Brendan both looked AMAZING. Linda, Denise, Cherry, Emma and all of =
  281. other fellow Jason lovers, his arms looked INCREDIBLE in a short sleeved =
  282. black shirt.Sorry about the shallow post but I'm allowed a few every now =
  283. and again, no? :) Also, it's great exposure for the show, though I =
  284. objected to Access Hollywood referring to them as the "WB hunks" They're =
  285. so much more than just "hunks" and "prettyboys" but that's neither here =
  286. nor there. Enjoy when it airs locally! Gina :)

  854. Well, there it was. The episode that we Max and Liz 'shippers(dreamers) =
  855. have been dreading for a long time. Though many of you like Tess and =
  856. relish in the thought of someone, anyone, coming between Max and Liz, I =
  857. have to admit that this one hurt. Putting the relationship stuff aside =
  858. for now though, I have to say that I really thought this episode was =
  859. brilliant. Absolutely brilliant I was on the edge of my seat the entire =
  860. time despite the fact that I had read some of the spoilers and saw some =
  861. of the clips beforehand. It seemed this episode was even faster in pace =
  862. than "Crazy" and really incorporated some of the big issues that have =
  863. permeated the season. Roswell really is just great. Never have I been so =
  864. emotionally and intellectually fascinated by a television show. It is a =
  865. real testament to the cast and crew that it continues to expand upon =
  866. itself and improve. I am really loving the new direction the show is =
  867. taking especially since they're still utilizing all of the things I =
  868. loved and bringing them to such a heightened, almost frenzied, =
  869. crescendo. Anyhoo, here are some thoughts and observations:
  870.  
  871. 1) Tess: Let's just get this out of the way. I've tried to like her. I =
  872. swear I have. I think Emilie is adorable and a real "firecracker." I =
  873. just think that her character is so blatantly out of place on the show =
  874. that she sticks out like a sore thumb(and not in a good way). All of the =
  875. teens and adults in Roswell are sort of tortured. They all have big =
  876. issues and are all pretty subdued in manner. Though I would think Tess =
  877. would be a breath of fresh air in contrast to that, she really doesn't =
  878. do it for me. I think a lot of it has to do with my not really =
  879. understanding why Isabel has gravitated towards her. By all accounts, =
  880. Tess seems as shallow and self-centered as all of the other "friends" =
  881. that Isabel has shunned. It just doesn't seem right to me. Perhaps she =
  882. is under the same spell that Max seems to be under but it still seems =
  883. forced. Surely they could have introduced her in a more realistic =
  884. manner.=20
  885.  
  886. 2) Max and Liz: Ah, this is another reason that I absolutely love this =
  887. show. Though I'm not dating an alien(though some of my ex-boyfriends =
  888. have me wondering whether they're from Planet A-hole)I can totally =
  889. relate to thinking that you know someone implicitly only to realize that =
  890. that may never really be possible. I think we all can relate. Needless =
  891. to say, I feel for Liz in a big way. The shoe dropped, the "s" hit the =
  892. fan and she never even saw it coming.=20
  893.  
  894. Surprisingly, I also really felt for Max at times tonight too. That kiss =
  895. that he planted on Liz during the opening scene at the Crashdown was so =
  896. desperate. It was like by kissing her, he would somehow cleanse himself =
  897. of all of the impure thoughts he was having about Tess. My question is, =
  898. how do you fight yourself? How do you fight how you feel? It's not easy =
  899. for humans and it certainly is going to be damn near impossible when you =

  904. That rain kiss between Tess and Max with Liz looking on was nothing =
  905. short of brutal. And to be honest, it was the first time that I really =
  906. didn't like Max. It's funny, on the surface, the problems that Liz and =
  907. Max seem to be having are so banal but underneath they are steeped in =
  908. complication. If you didn't know them, you would think it was just =
  909. another case of a straying boyfriend. Funny.
  910.  
  911. 3) Max and Michael: This relationship really is slowly deteriorating, =
  912. isn't it? It seems that each week, something happens to tear them =
  913. further and further apart. I thought it was terribly sad when Michael =
  914. emphasized that he "USED to admire Max" It's like when you're a kid and =
  915. you idolize your parents and you think they're the smartest, bravest =
  916. people in the world. Then you grow up and you realize they're just =
  917. human. That's what I kind of feel is happening to Michael and Max. =
  918. Michael is growing more independent and making decisions, good and bad, =
  919. on his own without informing Max. We have to hope that the growing pains =
  920. don't tear them up to a point where the damage is irreparable.=20
  921.  
  922. 4) Maria and Liz : Though I'm not the biggest Michael and Maria =
  923. 'shipper, I do love these characters individually. I do have to say that =
  924. Maria RULES!! I loved how she did the best friend thing by warning Liz =
  925. about Tess and how shady she appears to be. I also really loved how she =
  926. comforted a crying Liz by declaring emphatically that Max was a jerk! =
  927. Amen sister! Maria's the kind of person you want to have on your side. =
  928. She's the real deal. A friend to the end. It's always cool when someone =
  929. like Maria "has got your back." Great portrayal of their friendship =
  930. tonight. The only thing that would have made it even better would to =
  931. have included Alex in the mix. He's known them forever and it would have =
  932. been nice to see the three aliens bond like we so often see their alien =
  933. counterparts do.
  934.  
  935. 5) Michael and Liz: What an amazing surprise to see Michael defend Liz. =
  936. He had this really protective thing going on with her and I for one =
  937. LOVED it. I loved how he lit into Max about betraying Liz and how =
  938. Michael was the first to want to rescue Liz from Tess and her dad. =
  939. Michael really stepped up to the plate tonight and was a man. Nice =
  940. growth of characterization!

  942. 6) Liz: Again, I am completely biased but I thought Shiri was fantastic =
  943. tonight. She broke my heart with just a look as she stood by the =
  944. Crashdown doors and watched the man that she loves, kiss another girl. =
  945. She was also just incredibly moving when she ignored Max and then =
  946. confronted him by the lockers in the backroom of the restaurant. I could =
  947. literally feel her pain. Liz has been so good about everything so far =
  948. and it was great to just see her breakdown and feel. Just completely =
  949. feel with her heart only. Shiri was just amazing. Were you guys feeling =
  950. her too?=20
  951.  
  952. 7) Max: I think Max is trying to battle Angel for most tortured soul :) =
  953. . Jason always astounds me with the depth that he brings to his =
  954. character but tonight he was just so "on". He hated himself for what he =
  955. was feeling. He hated himself for what he was doing to Liz and yet he =
  956. couldn't deny that he was intrigued by Tess. I thought it was very =
  957. telling that he said to Liz that it was "more than just attraction", =
  958. implying that there is an attraction there to Tess. Though I screamed =
  959. "what an ass" a few times to the screen when he was on, I did sympathize =
  960. with him. He is as confused as everyone else is by what's happening and =
  961. it's fascinating to watch this completely controlled person, become =
  962. undone. Jason rocks again.
  963.  
  964. 8)Valenti and the Gang: I personally am loving the Valenti as ally =
  965. thing. He still weirded me out a bit but I think he is genuinely scared =
  966. for Max, Isabel and Michael. I'm still a little shaken by him speaking =
  967. to Max so frankly about things that have been hidden for so long but I =
  968. guess he's trying to get Max to admit who he is. Returning the orb was a =
  969. great way to try and win the trust of the aliens and I can't wait to see =
  970. how that pans out.Gotta love Valenti and gotta love William. He rules!
  971.  
  972. 9) Destiny, fate and where does love fit in?: I think it was Mala on the =
  973. boards who made this great distinction between fate and destiny.(Mala, =
  974. If you're reading this, please elaborate) For me, destiny implies a =
  975. pre-determined plan while fate is more accidental or coincidental. In =
  976. many ways, I think at least, destiny can be changed by fate. I think =
  977. fate can sneak up on us and change the course of things in a heartbeat. =
  978. That destiny is only pre-determined to the extent that it is what is =
  979. "supposed" to happen as opposed to "fate" which might not have been =
  980. planned but can open the pathway to a new destiny. In this case, when =
  981. Max said that it was "fate" that brought him and Liz together, I really =
  982. started thinking about the whole destiny, fate debate and where love =
  983. fits into all of this. Are Liz and Max fated to be together? They love =
  984. each other that's easy to see but do they belong together in the grander =
  985. scheme of things. I'm sure Max was destined to be with another =
  986. alien(whether that proves to be Tess in the future is another story) but =
  987. was it fate that brought him to Liz? Since the moment he saw her in the =
  988. 3rd grade, he loved her. Was that fate? Was that destiny? And can love =
  989. change one or both of those things? I'm not really sure but I would love =
  990. to hear what you guys think?=20
  991.  
  992. Other things I noticed:
  993. A) What was the deal with Michael pulling Max and Isabel aside to tell =
  994. them that Tess's house was empty. I can't believe he reverted back to =
  995. the 3 and 3 formation.
  996. B) Line of the night: "Oooh, I'm as flat as I thought I was"-Maria. She =
  997. cracks me up!!
  998. C) Second line of the night: "Everything I see with me eyes tells me =
  999. he's cheating on me but everything in my heart tells me he's not"-Liz. =
  1000. That is love.
  1001. D) And speaking of love, how great was it to hear Liz declare her love =
  1002. for Max. Sure he wasn' there to hear it but as a dreamgirl, I was so =
  1003. happy!!! :D :D :D
  1004. E) HALLELUJAH: I couldn't believe that Kyle was finally on the screen, =
  1005. albeit briefly. Did any of you look around for the four horsemen and =
  1006. other signs of the apocalypse? LOL :) It was good to see him back. I =
  1007. also thought it was our lucky night because Kyle and Alex were on in the =
  1008. same episode. I guess the rumors about the budgetary constrictions of =
  1009. having both of them on together were erroneous LOL! :)
  1010. F) Is it me or does the Pod Squad really need to take some lessons from =
  1011. the Scooby Gang? Could they have been more obvious standing outside of =
  1012. Tess's house? I was cracking up. I was waiting for Michael or Alex to =
  1013. hold up a sign that said, "We're out here watching you" :)
  1014. G) Is it me or is Tess's father the creepiest dude on the planet? What's =
  1015. the deal with that?

  1019. I am so loving Maria's new haircut. It looks great on Majandra! The guys =
  1020. looked really hot, especially Jason in that t-shirt(look at those =
  1021. arms!!!) and the shirt he wore during the first kiss with Liz at the =
  1022. Crashdown. Umm, it kills me to say it but that Tess and Max lab table =
  1023. scene was hot. Jason is so the man! Oh and how cute were the pics of =
  1024. Jason in the box at Tess's house? I thought for sure it was  a dreamgirl =
  1025. who took them! LOL :)
  1026.  
  1027. Again, another just incredible episode. I know this one was long but it =
  1028. was so rich in detail. I really can't wait to see how this whole Tess =
  1029. storyline plays out, how and if the relationships(all of them) will =
  1030. survive and what role Valenti and Nasedo will play.This show just keeps =
  1031. getting better and better. Let's hope our efforts to keep it alive =

  1081. fact that I had read some of the spoilers and saw some of the clips =
  1082. beforehand.=20
  1083. It seemed this episode was even faster in pace than "Crazy" =
  1084. and really=20
  1085. incorporated some of the big issues that have permeated the season. =
  1086. Roswell=20
  1087. really is just great. Never have I been so emotionally and =
  1088. intellectually=20
  1089. fascinated by a television show. It is a real testament to the cast and =
  1090. crew=20
  1091. that it continues to expand upon itself and improve. I am really loving =
  1092. the new=20
  1093. direction the show is taking especially since they're still utilizing =
  1094. all of the=20
  1095. things I loved and bringing them to such a heightened, almost frenzied,=20
  1096. crescendo. Anyhoo, here are some thoughts and observations:</FONT></DIV>

  1106. All of the teens and adults in Roswell are sort of tortured. They all =

  1108. issues and are all pretty subdued in manner. Though I would think Tess =

  1110. a breath of fresh air in contrast to that, she really doesn't do it for =
  1111. me. I=20
  1112. think a lot of it has to do with my not really understanding why Isabel =
  1113. has=20
  1114. gravitated towards her. By all accounts, Tess seems as shallow and =
  1115. self-centered=20
  1116. as all of the other "friends" that Isabel has shunned. It just =
  1117. doesn't=20
  1118. seem right to me. Perhaps she is under the same spell that Max seems to =
  1119. be under=20
  1120. but it still seems forced. Surely they could have introduced her in a =
  1121. more=20
  1122. realistic manner. </FONT></DIV>
