  53. You know, as much as it annoys me (and BOY does it annoy me) that Guza
  54. tends to turn GH into "The Cassadine and Spencer Show" I must confess, that
  55. the reprocussions from Lizzie's story are making for some incredible grist
  56. for the mill around there.

  87. Robert and Anna were my absolute favorite characters on GH.  I loved them.
  88. That whole storyline where Anna was kidnapped by that Grant Putnam guy was
  89. one of my favorites!

  119. please, please, please tell me that TPTB are not putting Robin together
  120. w/Nikolas! It certainly would stir up the ol' Spencer/Cassadine story,
  121. but c'mon now. No way did I ever buy Tyler being the 17 yr. old Nikolas,
  122. now he's gonna be the "younger" guy to Robin. I must say though, if this
  123. story would give Robin some back bone, fire away guys. This Lucky/Liz
  124. pairing is the best couple in such a long time. Isn't it funny that they
  125. are the L&L of the 90's, when the L&L of the 80's was in fact Luke &
  126. Laura...Lucky's parents? Seemed a little funny!

  142. they did it with Lily's death.  We had some idea what was going on, 
  143. but it never hit the newstands that LM was leaving the show until 
  144. after  it happened.  I hope that Genie is going to surprise us.

  148. I don't know about that.....I would have doing a dance if I had known 
  149. in advance that Lily was leaving the show.  (before I realized how 
  150. her death was going to come about)  the fans felt very strongly about 
  151. her and the whole J/B/S/L storyline, so I wouldn't put it past them 
  152. to do it again with Genie knowing how much everyone wants her back.

  180. back. Also, has anyone ever noticed, when a character is coming back,
  181. hints are dropped, like mentioning them more than before...Nikolas'
  182. letter, Lucky, Luke & Bobby mentioning her name...then the
  183. kicker....usually showing pictures! Did anyone catch the scanning of the
  184. pictures on the refrigerator @the Spencer house? Then again...Lily's
  185. death was a shocker!

  205. (did anybody else find it odd that they would have such OLD pictures on 
  206. their refrigerator???  one of those luke & laura pics was positively 
  207. ANCIENT!)  but yeah...it definitely seems possible that they're hinting.

  210. on the other hand, it would be pretty impossible to do this storyline 
  211. without at least MENTIONING laura!  (and EQUALLY dumb to do it without 
  212. her there, if you ask me...we all know she has to come back EVENTUALLY, 
  213. being under contract and all.  so wouldn't you think they would have 
  214. waited?  which also gives me some hope that she'll be heading back 
  215. soon.)  oh well, we shall see...

  236. The point about seeing the pix is, 1st of all w/Laura, I don't think
  237. they'd be crazy enough to even imagine recasting Genie, Bob Guza has
  238. said in interviews he'd do "anything" to get her to come back. And
  239. regarding the contract issue, people have been released from their
  240. contracts early for many reasons. (Melissa Reeves-Days of Our Lives is
  241. an interesting candidate here!) I agree, I can't even believe that GH
  242. would go full steam ahead w/this storyline w/out Laura front & center.
  243. There's going to be the most important point of view missing from this
  244. story, the victim, being Laura (but how many victims end up marrying the
  245. rapist, really???). This could make things more viotile being Luke &
  246. Lucky & that may just be where all the storyline lies!

  934. not going to just say "oh well, michael's gone.  pass the salt please."

  1100. Well, it's only taken a few days to recover, but Cagey and I are here in
  1101. LA, dying of the heat, and I am still a seriously happy camper over the set
  1102. tour.
  1103.  
  1104. So, details (spoilers at the very end)...
  1105.  
  1106. Well, we went on Tuesday morning, we needed to be there at 9:15 a.m.
  1107. because Jon and Lynn were both supposed to be taping around 9:00.  Of
  1108. course I was awake and staring at the ceiling at about 5:00 a.m., so we
  1109. were a bit early.
  1110.  
  1111. We finally found the right gate and made our way to the studio.  We got
  1112. pictures of ourselves in front of the Emergency sign that they use on the
  1113. oudoor set, which is actually the main enterance to the building.  
  1114.  
  1115. The girl who was taking us around led us out of the GH building and to the
  1116. PC one.  We slipped onto the set and made our way to the back, where we sat
  1117. (and where I shamelessly drooled) and we watched Jon and Lynn shoot three
  1118. of their four scenes.  The crew was all very sweet; some of the guys gave
  1119. up their chairs so we wouldn't have to stand, and everyone kept offering to
  1120. get us something to drink.
  1121.  
  1122. Sunny (the girl who was giving us the tour) seemed to think we were bored
  1123. with the shooting process.  HA!  They were having some technical problems,
  1124. and you could tell (especially from Lynn) that things were not running as
  1125. smoothly as they usually did. 
  1126.  
  1127. And right about here I have to break and say that Anne and Razz were 100%
  1128. dead on with their report:  Lynn Herring is beyond beautiful.  WAY beyond.
  1129. She was gorgeous.  Best of all, though, she was gracious and very sweet and
  1130. funny and friendly.
  1131.  
  1132. So we watched them work and in the middle of it Lisa Ann Hanley, who plays
  1133. Julie, showed up and was talking and joking around with the crew while they
  1134. were blocking and rehersing for K&L's scenes.  Sunny brought her over to
  1135. meet us.  She was also very sweet and said that she just got online about
  1136. four months ago, and is enjoying it, but hasn't got it all figured out yet.
  1137.  She was very cute and animated, and DAMN, that girl is tiny.
  1138.  
  1139. After the third item Sunny went and got Jon and Lynn, because our clock was
  1140. ticking down, and, after all, we were there to meet them.  She brought them
  1141. over and both of them were seriously cool.  We told them that we ran a
  1142. Kevin & Lucy list, and Lynn, who doesn't have internet conncetivity at all,
  1143. wanted to know what exactly that meant.  Jon asked if it was like a newsgroup.
  1144.  
  1145. Jon, BTW, looked sensational also (big shock there).  He was wearing a
  1146. gorgeous, slightly billowy, off-white shirt -- almost a poets shirt, dark
  1147. charcoal grey pants and a VERY nice dark burgendy blazer.
  1148.  
  1149. So we talked for a few minutes, but they had to get back to work and we had
  1150. some more stuff to see, so we said good-bye and Sunny took us upstairs to
  1151. see who else we could find.  We went into the make-up room and Julie Pinson
  1152. and Lisa Ann were there.  
  1153.  
  1154. About that time it occured to me that I forgot to ask Jon and Lynn WHAT the
  1155. hell is up with Kin and those apples, so I figured Julie would be the next
  1156. best person to ask.  She said that Kin just wanted something that he could
  1157. turn into an on-running joke, and he did eat apples all the time.  It
  1158. didn't start out of anything other than Kin's desire for a little amusment.
  1159. ;-)
  1160.  
  1161. So Cagey pulled the apples out of her bag that we bought to give Kin (who
  1162. didn't end up coming in until after we left).  I pulled out the green one
  1163. and handed it to Julie and said:  "Here.  Give this to Kin -- just for a
  1164. little variety."
  1165.  
  1166. She laughed and said that they JUST shot an ep where he ate a green apple,
  1167. but that she'd give it to him for us.
  1168.  
  1169. And Lisa Ann asked whose birthday it was.  I'm still not sure where that
  1170. question came from, because *I* never said it was my birthday, and for all
  1171. I know she was speaking to someone else entirely, but I said that mine was
  1172. last week, and she was just really sweet and sincere.  (Cagey says:  I told
  1173. them it was Taiyin's birthday <g>)
  1174.  
  1175. So Sunny took us upstairs to the dressing rooms, but most of them were
  1176. empty.  The only person up there was Michael Deitz.  That boy looks AWESOME
  1177. in his glasses.  Simply awesome.  But even cooler was the five and a half
  1178. month old puppy he had bounding out the door as soon as he opened it.  She
  1179. was SO cute, I only wish I remembered her name.
  1180.  
  1181. Of course, I chose that moment to have foot-in-mouth disease.  The phrase,
  1182. "Oh!  Even the actors aren't as cute as the puppy!" popped out of my mouth.
  1183.  Thankfully Cagey smacked me in the arm, because that was NOT what I meant
  1184. to say (just shoot me.  I've had puppy fever lately and she was ADORABLE).
  1185.  
  1186. Sunny then took us downstairs again, and on our way back downstairs we ran
  1187. into Nolan North (Chris) and Rib Hillis (Jake) downstairs.  They were so
  1188. funny.  Rib hadn't heard them call his scene, and as Rib went tearing to
  1189. the set, Sunny commented to Nolan something along the lines of "Sorry we
  1190. stole your playmate."  Nolan looked at us and said, "We run around here
  1191. like a couple of kids."
  1192.  
  1193. But at various times several people put Sunny on the spot a bit and asked
  1194. us if we were going to get to see the GH set, too. (Cagey says:  I will be
  1195. eternally grateful to Lisa Ann--she was the first who asked, and she made
  1196. it sound ludicrous that we *wouldn't* see the GH set, and Sunny felt
  1197. obliged.  Thank you Lisa Ann!!)  
  1198.  
  1199. Anyway, we headed back to the PC set, because Jon and Lynn were wrapping
  1200. up.  We were WAY off to the side, but Lynn saw us and waved frantically.
  1201. As they wrapped and went to leave, they said good-bye again, and I
  1202. shanghaied them for a picture.  We got two shots of all four us of.  Jon,
  1203. me, Cagey, and Lynn all in a line, and then when Sunny asked if we wanted a
  1204. second one just in case, Lynn said, "Switch!" and she and Jon switched
  1205. places on either end of the line.
  1206.  
  1207. We didn't get to talk much, but I did <ahem> manage to ask Jon how long he
  1208. planned to keep the beard. <g>  He said, "Until I get tired of it."  And he
  1209. didn't sound as though it would be ANYTIME real soon.  He said that he had
  1210. to shave it Wednesday night after work for something, but that he'd be
  1211. growing it back over the weekend (he and Lynn only worked Monday -
  1212. Wednesday this week). (Cagey says:  I think Taiyin is just gullible <g>)
  1213. Lynn asked if my question about his beard was a complaint and I almost
  1214. tripped over my tongue saying no, certainly NOT a complaint.  (Cagey says:
  1215. She nobly refrained from comment! Bwahaha!)
  1216.  
  1217. So Jon and Lynn had to go -- Jon is doing a crossover to GH, and he was
  1218. being ushered off to John York's dressing room (after a bit of humorous
  1219. commentary on the fact that he still has his OWN dressing room over there
  1220. "with his name on it and everything").  So Sunny took us down the set a bit
  1221. to see the next scene they were shooting.  
  1222.  
  1223. Jake, Frank and Lark were in it together, but we didn't get to watch for
  1224. long, because we were on the clock and hitting our time limit.  (Cagey
  1225. says:  We didn't get to meet Jay Pickett, but he looks just as intense in
  1226. real life as he does onscreen.)  So on our way back to the offices (to give
  1227. Sunny our addresses so she could send us autographed copies of the script
  1228. and pictures) we swung through the GH set.  Since we weren't cleared ahead
  1229. of time to be there, though, we mostly just walked through -- we saw a few
  1230. sets, Cassadines in particular.  One of them, though, was one we haven't
  1231. seen before.  We couldn't tell whose it was supposed to be and Sunny didn't
  1232. know, either.
  1233.  
  1234. When we got there, though, they were shooting a scene with Jonathon Jackson
  1235. (couldn't see who, if anyone, else was in the scene), and Sunny ushered us
  1236. out because it was "top secret" and we weren't supposed to see it.  
  1237.  
  1238. She took us through the halls of GH dressing rooms and we ran smack into
  1239. Jon coming out of John York's dressing room, heading towards the set.  He
  1240. was wearing a very nice dark suit. :-)
  1241.  
  1242. She checked the schedule and though there were lots of people on it, the
  1243. building was pretty deserted.  She went to Billy Warlock's dressing room to
  1244. find him and found Real  Andrews (Taggart) instead.  So he came out and
  1245. talked to us.  He was SUCH a ham.  Cracked me up.  He asked us all kinds of
  1246. questions, including what we thought of Taggart.  I said that I liked
  1247. Taggart except when he was sexually harrassing Dara.  He got this sort of
  1248. crooked smirk on his face and said, "Sexually harrassing?  But she's the
  1249. ADA, if anyone can smack him down it would be her."  At which point I
  1250. clarified what I meant:  What I don't like is that she lets him get away
  1251. with it.
  1252.  
  1253. He grinned and said, "Yeah, she shoulda smacked me a couple of times, huh?"
  1254.  
  1255. Then he talked about the SOD Awards and how much fun they were.  He told us
  1256. about a billboard that he and a few other soap guys had (supposedly on
  1257. Santa Monica Blvd.).  We've been up and down that road about 20 times this
  1258. week and have yet to spot it, though.  We got a picture with him (Cagey
  1259. says:  Real has animal magnetism by the barrell-full.  Mrrooowr) and then
  1260. he told Sunny why we couldn't find any of the people who were on the
  1261. schedule:  they were all on the schedule because they were updating the
  1262. credits, so they all came in, were there for fifteen minutes, and then left.
  1263.  
  1264. We said good-bye to him, and headed out.  Sunny tried one more time to find
  1265. some more people around for us to meet, so Cagey and I waited in the hall,
  1266. at which point Cagey pointed out a poster that I SOMEHOW managed to miss:
  1267. Kevin and Lucy in a bathtub, fully clothed (or as "fully clothed" as they
  1268. EVER dress Lynn, anyway), with Sigmund sitting on the edge.  But the
  1269. coolest part was that the shot was taken from directly above the tub,
  1270. looking straight down on them.  Their heads were at opposite ends of the
  1271. tub, and their legs were all tangled together, and they were both looking
  1272. up at the camera.  
  1273.  
  1274. At the bottom of the full-sized poster (which I would sell almost any
  1275. relative I have to get) there was Lucy's "Chardonnay, Debussy, my man and
  1276. my duck" quote from a few years ago.  And there was the slogan from one of
  1277. their old promos "(more tomorrow)" below that.  (At which point I believe I
  1278. started ranting, yet AGAIN, about the fact that, the shot of Ned and Lois
  1279. hanging on the opposite wall was from that same campaign and that any
  1280. online GH fan would have to hurt themselves to try to avoid tripping over
  1281. it, but die-hard K&L fans couldn't find THEIR promo shots anywhere to save
  1282. their lives.  Grump.)
  1283.  
  1284. Cagey pointed out that while breaking the glass on the frame, and ripping
  1285. the picture from the wall would probably NOT be the coolest idea in the
  1286. world, we COULD take a picture of it.  So we'll have to wait and see how it
  1287. turns out.
  1288.  
  1289. Other observations:  the sets looked really, really small.  It seemed
  1290. strange, because they didn't seem NEARLY as big as they do on-screen.
  1291.  
  1292. The scenes they shot are on the revised version of the old lighthouse set.
  1293. On screen the remodel job annoys me because it looks all beige, and too
  1294. similar to the den set for my enjoyment.  But in real life the set is
  1295. actually a lot of greys and light blues.

  1316. Well, the K&L scenes we saw them shoot were very cool, and DEFINITELY
  1317. storyline turning point on a couple of different levels.
  1318.  
  1319. For starters, Lucy is reading a murder mystery, written by Anomynon, and
  1320. the character named "Nancy" seems to bear an uncanny resemblence to our Ms.
  1321. Coe.  At the beginning of the ep Lucy is furious and throwing the book
  1322. across the room, because Nancy was killed "at the Nurses' Ball."  Kevin
  1323. walks in the door just as she pelts the book, and then Lucy launches into a
  1324. tirade about how she knows that Rex was the author of this book and he's
  1325. just doing it to torture her and he's enjoying killing her in effigy.
  1326.  
  1327. As Lucy is about to launch into some sort of legal action against Rex, Doc
  1328. confesses that he knows who the author is:  he wrote the book himself,
  1329. while Lucy was living at the hotel and then with Rex.  It was his own form
  1330. of therapy to deal with everything that happened.  And the only reason that
  1331. his name wasn't on the cover was because the publisher was trying to drum
  1332. up mystery to boost sales.
  1333.  
  1334. Lucy's reaction is less than delighted.  She is upset that Kevin didn't
  1335. tell her, but then the little bit about Lucy not being the world's greatest
  1336. secret keeper came up.  She tried to defend herself by declaring that she
  1337. COULD keep secrets... at which point (thank you, Lynn Latham!!) we get
  1338. Kevin reminding her about the time that she took all of his paintings to
  1339. the Outback for the whole town to see.
  1340.  
  1341. The other interesting bit in there is that **Victor is living with them at
  1342. the Lighthouse.**  
  1343.  
  1344. He returns from a walk to the duck pond as they are discussing the book,
  1345. and heads upstairs to take a bath and finish the "remarkable book he found
  1346. on the hall table."  He takes one look at Kevin, snickers "Anomynon" and
  1347. heads upstairs. 
  1348.  
  1349. And THEN, the last interesting bit, and the one that is in all likelihood,
  1350. the BIG storyline on their horizon:  apparently at the end of Kevin's book
  1351. (which is called "General Homicide," btw) there is a scene that Victor
  1352. recognizes (I couldn't hear exactly what it was, because that was the last
  1353. scene they shot and we weren't very close to the set at the time, and we
  1354. missed most of the rehersals) from Kevin's childhood.  Victor says to
  1355. Kevin:  "I didn't think you remembered that."  Kevin's reaction is shock,
  1356. because he DOESN'T remember anything and has no idea what Victor is talking
  1357. about.  (Cagey says:  Another possible take, because the dialogue was a bit
  1358. vague out of context, is that Kevin somehow vented his feelings about his
  1359. relationship with his father in the book, and Victor picked up on it.  But
  1360. I was further away from the set at that point, so Taiyin probably heard the
  1361. dialogue more clearly than I did.)
  1362.  
  1363. The whole tone of it, though, was the "beginning of a mystery" thing.
  1364. Kevin tried questioning Victor about what he meant, but Victor back-tracked
  1365. and never really said.
  1366.  
  1367. And then the only non-K&L spoiler we have is kinda spooky, actually:  Lark
  1368. and Jake start dating, she lies about her name and age, they SLEEP TOGETHER
  1369. <shudder> and then Lark sets them both up for Frank to find half dressed in
  1370. Jake's apartment.
  1371.  
  1372. And, as another aside, I must say that Jay Pickett (Frank) is incredibly
  1373. good looking in RL(tm), too.  And, as Cagey noted, he is every bit as
  1374. intense in real life as he is in character.  
  1375.  
  1376. Anyway, the scene we watched part of had Frank freaking out and Jake trying
  1377. to fix things, while Lark was being a twerp again.
  1378.  
  1379. And that was about it.  Sunny took us back to the office, we gave her our
  1380. addresses, we told her which actors we'd like autographs from, and we split.  
  1381. (Cagey says:  We were supposed to get lunch in the commissary, but they
  1382. didn't mention it at all!  I'm very bummed about that.  Also, we left a
  1383. card for Nancy Grahn and the baby.  Sunny said that mom and baby are doing
  1384. very, very well, and Nancy's still out for maternity leave.  And we looked
  1385. for Tony Geary's gold Porsche in the parking lot, but didn't seat it.)
  1386.  
  1387. And the reason ya'll didn't get this report on Tuesday night was because we
  1388. came home and I nearly imploded and it's taken me this long to recover. ;-)
