  5. Please ignore this message.  Xmission has been having severe problems with
  6. a hacker over the past week, and so I'm just checking to make sure the list
  7. is up and running.

  11. ObGH/PC:  Am I the only one who spent most of last week muttering either
  12. "Shut up, Stefan," or "Shut up, Jax"? <sigh>  Bleah.  Although, I did LOVE
  13. the face off between Jason and Stefan.  I agree with Bobbie, I would LOVE
  14. to see Stefan take on Jason.  I don't necessarily think Jason could win,
  15. but I think he would CERTAINLY give Stefan more of a run for his money than
  16. he'd expect -- when Stefan looks at Jason all he sees is a punk in a black
  17. leather motorcycle jacket.  He'd be in for a rude awakening.  I also loved
  18. the scenes with Lucy and Nikolas, as Nikolas was having his stroke.  I
  19. think my favorite of all of GH last week, though, was Alan telling Jax that
  20. he was no better than Sonny.  FINALLY!
  21.  
  22. As for PC... am I the only one who sees Eve and Chris and is reminded of
  23. early Scott and Lucy?  I loved Scott and Lucy (in the pre-Doc days), and so
  24. I'm enjoying the hell out of the two of them.  I'm really glad they are
  25. involving Eve in so many storylines, because she is so much fun to watch in
  26. so many circumstances.  I do adore her with Scott, but with Chris she
  27. really, really reminds me of an old Lucy.  Maybe that's why Lucy has such
  28. an aversion to her. ;-)

  48. totally missed out on the dreams that Scotty has been having the past

  50. on what has been going on in them?

  113. behind him all the way...  Was this more like a "nightmare" for Scotty as
  114. opposed to the way Dom shows up for Serena "in real life"?  I hope you
  115. understand that question!  What I'm trying to get at is if this is what
  116. Scotty is imagining Dom thinking about all of this compared to the
  117. reassurance that Dom is giving to Serena....

  141. Yeah, I get what you're saying, but no, that's not what happened.  It still
  142. could, though, so don't lose hope. :-)

  148. Well, I mean, since the audience knows that Dom is really there, we would
  149. definitely be led to believe that Dom was in charge of that dream.  As it
  150. is, I'm sure Scott is just feeling a little freaked and slightly paranoid.
  151. He's not like Lucy -- he's not going to find a reassurance and comfort in
  152. the thought of Dom *really* being there, because (at least so far) he
  153. doesn't actually really *believe* she is there.  He just knows that he had
  154. a dream that not only predicted what he fears most, but that he's also
  155. going to be disappointing the love of his life.

  188. Are we sure it was Serena that she was referring to?  I got the impression
  189. that maybe Dom sees Eve as Scotty's great love (after herself, of course), and
  190. that he might lose her if he doesn't try harder.  It seemed to fit, especially
  191. right after that scene with Eve and Chris where Eve said something about
  192. Scott, and then ended up kissing Chris.

  211. attempt, of course, to prevent anyone from getting any hairbrained ideas
  212. about sepereating Kevin & Lucy, in favor of Scott and Lucy... but now...

  214. I am REALLY loving Chris and Eve.

  216. OTOH, I think it's at least partially that Eve is just so completely
  217. watchable.  I don't think I've ever been bored watching her with anyone
  218. (I've been bored watching Julie moralize at Eve, but not actually bored
  219. with Eve).  I love her interaction with Kevin, Lucy and Scott; she and
  220. Chris are really great (and are reminding me every day of a slightly
  221. sweeter early Scott and Lucy); she cracks me up whenever she's with either
  222. of the Scanlon brothers; and she's adorable with Serena.

  225. keep showing during the promo that airs during GH, too.

  284. said I agree with completely.  Scott and Eve had chemistry from the get-go
  285. but Chris and Eve chemistry slowly built and I change my mind of who I
  286. want her with depending on who she is with in the scene.  I used to like
  287. Julie but her character never fully developed and bores me to tears now.
  288. She and Frank make-out like a bunch of love-sick teens (Eve said something
  289. to that effect Friday). What you said about Eve and the Scanlon brothers
  290. she has chemistry with them as well.  I could even see a Frank and Eve
  291. pairing.  I love her scences with Ben, Serena, Rex, etc.  If PC would
  292. develop everyones character as much as they have developed hers the show
  293. would be much more watchable.  Other than Eve many of the new characters
  294. are isolated in their own groups of people and most of them are
  295. one-dimensional.  Lucy and Doc just don't belong with these people in my
  296. opinion and I wish they would go back to GH with Scotty visiting the show
  297. often.  I miss Mac and Kevin.

  406. I agree.  I really liked her in the beginning when she was insisting on her
  407. independence and wouldn't let her father influence her career at all.

  423. Well, in the case of Rex, I would certainly agree.  Julie, too, for the
  424. most part.  And Jake -- though I think Danielle's death has gone a long way
  425. toward improving him.  I wouldn't agree, though, when it comes to Matt,
  426. Chris, Karen or either one of the Scanlon brothers, really.  And the
  427. storyline they are starting right now with Ellen should go a LONG way
  428. towards developing her character more.

  430. But, actually, if you look at it, about half the cast of PC started out on
  431. GH.  Kevin, Lucy and Scott (and Karen) are just the ones who are front and
  432. center on PC the most.  I think the primary objection I have to the GH/PC
  433. transfer of characters is the handling of Mike -- they TOTALLY neglect him.

  439. Well, I disagree with that -- if for no other reason than because (a) I
  440. think that the way Lynn Latham writes Kevin and Lucy is just magnificent
  441. and I remember all too well how badly Guza does the two of them.  And (b)
  442. because when Kevin and Lucy were on GH they spent YEARS (literally)
  443. straddling the back-burner.  I'd rather have them on almost every day, with
  444. great dialogue and snappy raprte, but seperated from much of their old
  445. context, than back on GH, showing up once or twice a week as window
  446. dressing for the ongoing Spencer/Cassasinde, soon-to-include
  447. Quartermaine/Morgan war.

  449. I kind of miss Mac and Kevin.  The only GH relationship with them that I
  450. REALLY miss, though, is Luke and Lucy.  And I do whine about that every so
  451. often on the K&L list. <g>

  514. Hi everybody. I am back from my new York vacation, and I have a lot to say
  515. about Tony. God I hate Tony!!! The presumptuousness of that man. He accepts
  516. the fact that Carly has had an affair. He logically knows that the time he
  517. thinks Carly and Jason slept together could have resulted in her pregnancy.
  518. However he calls the baby his son. That man is in denial about a few things.
  519. Also, today he had no concern for Carly's welfare. This is a woman that he
  520. was planning to marry an is the mother of what may be his child. He actually
  521. said that he didn't care about Carly, and Jason could do whatever he wanted
  522. with her. I know that isn't verbatim, but oh well that was the main gist of
  523. it. I don't know if Bobbie told him of the gravity of Carly's situation on
  524. the phone.However he should know that a woman that delivers a month early
  525. might possibly have some kind of medical problems. There wasn't even a
  526. "What's her condition like". I don't want him to fall back in love with her.
  527. That is most definitely not what I am saying, but even I would wonder about
  528. the condition of my worst enemy if he or she was injured.

  530.     I have to say Bravo to Bobbie. I loved her pleading with Jason over
  531. Carly's surgery. I can't believe that Carly is basically leading the same
  532. life that Bobbie did: mothering a child and not being sure who the father
  533. is, having something wrong with your uterus that could ultimately lead to
  534. the loss of it. I also loved that Jason said that he would tell Carly that
  535. it was Bobbie that convinced him about what to do. I have a question. Does
  536. Jason have power of attorney over both Carly and the baby  or just over
  537. Carly? Carly said that the lawyer never asked if Jason was the real father.
  538. Can someone have power of attorney over a child whose paternity has not yet
  539. been decided? I know that tomorrow Jason says"Nothing will be done to that
  540. boy unless I say so". I am so glad that Guza is back. Have I said that
  541. already? I am so glad that General Hospital is getting good again. I don't
  542. know if you all noticed, but it was getting boring there for awhile.

  660. to dial Felicia but will he be able to warn her before Tess returns? ---
  661. Carly's baby has a heart problem and Carly slips into a coma, needing

  752. As The New Year Begins

  754. Helena and Stefan are both focused on Nikolas' well-being, but these have
  755. different methods of handling such matters of importance. Helena wants a
  756. secret alliance with Katherine, who feels that silence is not golden and
  757. wants to tell all to Stefan. She might *want to,* but will she is the
  758. question and Helena warns Katherine:  "piss me off and pay the
  759. consequences."
  760.  
  761. Jason rebuffs Brenda and tells her that avenging Sonny won't bring him back
  762. into her life: "face facts, he's gone ... period, end of discussion."
  763. Completely thrown by what Jason says, Brenda begins to believe that she's
  764. completely losing it. When Jax returns to the cottage he finds Jason and
  765. Brenda alone, and both men perceive Brenda's problems different. One believe
  766. things are rooted in her heart whereas the other feels they come from her
  767. head.
  768.  
  769. Brenda receives a call from the one person who fully understands what it
  770. means to lose someone you love:  Robin, and her spirits are momentarily
  771. lifted, but not for long. Although he remains by her side "through thick and
  772. thin," Jax watches Brenda's emotional state slowly unravel. Like pulling the
  773. stitches out of a knit sweater, Brenda's behavior goes from good to bad and
  774. finally to worse. Convinced that Sonny is out to destroy her life one way or
  775. the other, Brenda's paranoia culminates in an action which could make her a
  776. danger to herself or to others, Jax sees what the problems are and tells
  777. Brenda that she will have to face her problems head on if she is ever to get
  778. well.

  780. When Jason returns to the penthouse he finds Carly lying in her pool of
  781. blood and calls the paramedics to rush her to GH. Upon arrival, Carly is
  782. prepared for surgery and she begs Bobbie not to let anyone take her baby. A
  783. short time later, Bobbie holds the newborn  totally unaware that this is her
  784. grandson, and at the same time Carly goes into cardiac arrest. Looking back
  785. on her own life, Bobbie pleads with Jason to not allow a hysterectomy to be
  786. performed. More problems arise when the newborn needs surgery, and Jason and
  787. Tony argue over the proper medical treatment --- but it is Jason who makes
  788. the final decision.  Following surgery, Tony discovers that he is not the
  789. child's biological father. Bobbie shares the news of the baby's paternity
  790. with the Q's, and Edward makes plans of his own for the new Quartermaine
  791. heir ... plans which irk Emily.   When Carly awakens she believes that her
  792. child is dead, but is reassured by both Bobbie and Jason that her child did
  793. not die.

  798. Bobbie Helps Carly Deliver
  799. Her Baby on GH
  800.  
  801. Carly's stressful pregnancy ends with the emergency delivery of her son this
  802. week on GH.  Immediately, both mother and child face medical crises, and
  803. Bobbie, who has no idea she is the baby's grandmother - winds up with the
  804. newborn baby in her arms.  Jason rushes Carly to the hospital after having
  805. found her at home passed out in a pool of blood.  Bobbie, who is on duty,
  806. scrubs for surgery, and a terrified Carly begs her not to let anyone take
  807. her baby.  Despite their bitter history, Bobbie tries to do the right thing
  808. not only for the child but for Carly, convincing Jason not to allow doctors
  809. to give her a hysterectomy.  "Bobbie bonds with the baby immediately in an
  810. uncanny, very strange way,"
  811.  
  812. Jacklyn Zeman says.  "She says, 'Oh, I bond will all the babies I deliver'
  813. even though she doesn't actually deliver this one -- but there is a genetic
  814. pull which can't be explained.  I think it's also the first time Bobbie sees
  815. the vulnerability in Carly, and as much as they have been at war with one
  816. another, and there's been so much dysfunction in the relationship, Bobbie
  817. really understands when Carly says "Don't let them hurt my baby.  Don't let
  818. them take my baby."  That really opens up Bobbie's heart to her, and she
  819. sees her on a different level."
  820.  
  821. Things take a turn for the worse after the delivery when Carly goes into
  822. cardiac arrest and the baby develops a problem.  Jason finds himself in the
  823. middle of both situations, and does battle with Tony over the proper course
  824. of treatment for the child. Surgery proves successful, but also provides the
  825. answer Tony has dreaded: that he cannot possibly be the father.  Bobbie
  826. feels very sad for Tony, but her sympathies and allegiance are with the
  827. mother, having been there herself (as an unwed mother whose child - Carly -
  828. was taken away from her at birth). Bobbie is totally in sync with Carly
  829. being the mother, and maybe Tony was excited about the baby and did spend
  830. all those months thinking it was his, but in reality it's not.  The fact
  831. that he spend nine months preparing for the baby and wanting it doesn't mean
  832. he gets to keep it, because it's not his.
  833.  
  834. Although Zeman thinks Tony feels betrayed by Bobbie, she doesn't think she
  835. is taking sides.  "It's just so simple to Bobbie: What's right is right, and
  836. that is that you've got to give the real parents a chance.  Carly doesn't
  837. deserve to have her baby taken from her and Tony is really set to do this
  838. custody battle.   That's something you can't win unless you fight dirty and
  839. tell lies, because Carly really hasn't done anything wrong.  She lied to
  840. him, but there's no law against that.   Tony made his bed and now he has to
  841. lie in it.  It's not Carly's fault that Tony threw away his wholel ife, his
  842. wife and family, and is now looking around and saying, "Oh gee, I gave up
  843. everything."

  952. Dominique is the Ghost of Christmas Past as she takes Scott on a special
  953. journey, to help him understand what changes he has to make in order to
  954. offer Serena the best future. Along the way Scott learns that he must open
  955. his head and heart to love again.

  957. Scott , taking his cue from Dominique, hosts a New Year's Eve party and
  958. shares a passionate kiss with Eve.  If he had his way, Scott would've stayed
  959. in Canada living alone with his daughter.  He is involved with friends and
  960. family now because of the bind he is in.  What he did not realize is that
  961. children learn from example.  And the example that he has shown Serena is
  962. that he is always looking back, constantly regretting the past. Scott
  963. probably would've ignored Dominique's plea if he thought only his own future
  964. was in danger.  But seeing the effect of his attitude on the people around
  965. him, especially Serena, spurs him into action.  Opening his house up to
  966. friends and family, he's going to begin opening himself up emotionally to
  967. other people. In truth, he is terribly attracted to Eve.  As the clock
  968. strikes 12, it doesn't look like Scott & Eve are on the brink of a romantic
  969. relationship: She is kissing Chris.  Chris grabs her and Scott looks over
  970. and feels a pang of jealousy.   He looks back to hug someone else, then he
  971. and Eve wind up next to each other, and it is a spontaneous kiss, but they
  972. are both aware of what's happening.
  973.  
  974. Ellen and Matt are also at the party.  Earlier in the evening, Matt kisses
  975. Grace, but at midnight he happens to be talking to Ellen, who previously had
  976. rejected his overtures.   Grace is talking to someone else.  He's not
  977. seeking Ellen out; it's just a situation.
  978.  
  979. Frank and Julie also find themselves well situated to take their
  980. relationship to the next stage.  With all that Julie has been through in the
  981. past six months, she is not really ready for a serious relationship.  She is
  982. afraid that Frank is looking for something more serious.  In truth, Frank is
  983. no more ready for commitment than Julie is, which they discover when they
  984. finally broach the subject.  Once they resolve that issue, they are ready to
  985. take the next step, and they make love for the first time.
  986.  
  987. Joe & Karen, alone at his friend's cabin, are forced to ring in the New Year
  988. in front of a roaring fire, naked, after their clothes get soaked. So now
  989. you take one young couple with eyes for each other . Throw in some sexual
  990. tension ... no electricity ... a leak in the closet which drenches their
  991. clothing ... add a cozy blanket and a roaring fire ... and then top it off
  992. with no condoms, and what do you get?
  993.  
  994. There's just so much patience that anyone has, and Kevin is about to run out
  995. as "Juicy Lucy" plans to put the moves on Rex, whom she believes is totally
  996. unsuspecting - but won't she be surprised! Anger and fear turn to passion,
  997. and Kevin & Lucy make passionate love. Later on, Kevin's worries surface
  998. again when he knows that Lucy will be toasting the new year with Rex. ...
  999. and Rex certainly wants to start the new year off "with a bang" when he
  1000. confiscates Lucy's fertility pills before preparing to trip the light
  1001. fantastic.

  1088. Ok, I'm probably going to write something that most people won't agree with
  1089. (since I seem to detect A LOT of pro Carly/AJ talk... not altogether bad,
  1090. but people are being almost venomous against AJ and Tony.  I am going to
  1091. write in defense of their actions...
  1092.  
  1093. Tony.  So, I feel sort of sorry for the guy.  When you have been acting
  1094. like a total jerk for so long and are starting to come around to what a
  1095. pathetic life you have been living for the past two years (and even longer)
  1096. it is REALLY going to hurt.  I will never, ever forget the scenes he had
  1097. when BJ died.  I think those defined his character since then.  He is
  1098. ruthless when he tosses women out (and I can't forget that, either), but
  1099. this guy has had reasons for acting like he has.  Then, for seven months he
  1100. has been looking forward to a new baby.  Forget how he treated Carly (and I
  1101. do believe it was terrible), but if I had to go through the hopes and joys
  1102. surrounding the promise of a new baby that I thought was my own flesh and
  1103. blood, it would take me a lot longer than a month to get over it.  This guy
  1104. looks like he is heading for one HUGE mid-life crisis to hit and he has NO
  1105. ONE that in any way, shape or form, is going to give him any sympathy for. 
  1106. If the writers play it right, Brad Maule may have another emmy nomination
  1107. performance coming up.  The look on his face today when he knew that the
  1108. baby was NOT his...  this guy is going to be heading for a bigger dose of
  1109. reality than he may ever have had to deal with, barring BJ's death.  This
  1110. may very well get him past that and finally on with the rest of his life...
  1111. and maybe I could enjoy his scenes again.  I would be more interested in
  1112. this particular breakdown than the one Brenda is going through because I
  1113. can relate to this one a bit more.  I do agree with comments about his lack
  1114. of perspective in the surgery needed for the baby, though.  I thought his
  1115. reaction was irrational, but he might have a hard time being rational about
  1116. anything right now.  The baby's needs should be first, however.  How
  1117. ironic, though, that the baby had a heart defect since BJ's heart is the
  1118. only thing of her that remains alive at this time.
  1119.  
  1120. AJ...  Unless they are going to pull a fast one on us, AJ is definitely the
  1121. father of that baby.  I think the biological father has a right to know the
  1122. baby if he has fought for that right all along.  AJ is a perfect example of
  1123. someone who possibly had his whole life screwed up because his own father
  1124. never bonded with him in a way father's should bond.  Why does everyone
  1125. want AJ out of the picture as having any rights to the baby?  The deed is
  1126. done, the biology is there.  We now have daddy AJ.  I think he would make a
  1127. great father.  His comments about his needing to be pealed off the ceiling
  1128. of the waiting room during the baby's surgery were very appropriate and
  1129. natural.  I only wish he would stand up to Jason and the rest of the Q's
  1130. and tell them WHY he believes so strongly that he is the real father.  The
  1131. lack of a strong enough backbone is the biggest flaw I see in the AJ
  1132. character at this time.

  1134. Jason...  I love his scenes with Carly.  No doubt about it, the scenes are
  1135. terrific.  It would be more interesting to me, in a way, if he were the
  1136. father, but he isn't and knows it.  But that is why those scenes work so
  1137. well.  If I had any doubt that he was the father and a mobster at the same
  1138. time, I would be out of there in a minute.  No baby is safe around that
  1139. group.  As long as the mob keeps missing with their bullets and others get
  1140. killed, how could Carly assume that she and the baby are safe?  My maternal
  1141. instincts would kick in and I would be out of there!   (An aside...  Jason
  1142. and Carly remind me of Scotty/Lucy, the early years, in how they relate to
  1143. each other.  I have my fingers crossed, but can't reconcile the mob
  1144. business.)
  1145.  
  1146. None of this is meant to criticize the writers in this storyline.  I like
  1147. the present writing as it leaves so much material to work with.  I LOVE the
  1148. twists that the story has taken!  I love how many people are affected by
  1149. all this and I really, really loved Luke's reaction in the hospital when he
  1150. was looking in on Carly.  He cares and we know it.  I wanted him to blurt
  1151. out the whole relationship to the Q clan (aren't they going to be
  1152. surprised!) but settled for his wishes for a happy new year to the whole
  1153. blood-sucking Quartermaine family!  Dealing with Jason as his nephew's
  1154. supposed father also tightens that relationship for the time being, only
  1155. Jason knows that it is all fiction.
  1156.  
  1157. This is easily the most interesting storyline to come out of GH in a long
  1158. while for me.  Theoretically, it should be hard for the writers to blow it.
  1159.  I wouldn't put it past them, however.
