I have heard on this list rumors about Pro Pinball 4.
Does anyone know (and can say) something
more about it e.g. when it will be finished...

Pro Pinball 4 is in development, and it should be finished well before the
end of the year. When it gets released is another matter! :-)

Could you write something more about your project? What will be the theme of the table?

For those of you who need to catch up, I saw the Pro-Pinball combo
pack containing both The Web and Timshock! for $19.99 at CompUSA.

Date: 06 Apr 1999 14:36:17 -0600
Pro Pinball: Big Race USA (BRUSA) has been released to retail outlets
throughout North America, according to a press release issued by
Interplay. The title is part of Interplay's recent agreement with Empire to
distribute three of their titles in North America.

States, using 16 major cities as play areas. The game also features a cast
of wacky characters including Monster Truck, Mini-Beetle and Police
Car that players will encounter as the progress through the game. Using
an enhanced version of the Timeshock! game engine, BRUSA features
such key gameplay features as spin and slide ball dynamics, up to ten balls
in simultaneous play, four table flippers and real-time head-to-head
gameplay via LAN and Internet connections.
BRUSA also features 3D graphics, a full operators menu to enhance
gameplay features, five different skill level settings and for the advanced
player, the ability to adjust the physical parameters of the table (such as
slope, age, flipper strength, etc.).

Yep, I found that combo too, at Comp USA as well. You will have to
download the Timeshock! patch though or the high scores won't count...

Subject: [PS] BRUSA: Combos+1 on Empire High Score site?
Date: 07 Apr 1999 22:50:48 -0700
Hi,
has anybody else noticed or experienced that when submitting a BRUSA Combo
Champion score to Empire's Web site, the count appears on the site as one
higher than in the game? I noticed it twice now. I guess if it's the same
for everybody (their script decodes the hs code wrong or something) it's
not such a big deal. I sent e-mail to the web(mail)master anyway (hoping
I'm not spoiling something that everybody is in on but me and Empire...<s>).
Best,
-Martin

Yes! You don't want to have your early-but-lucky highest ramp count ever
and not be able to submit it and then never reach or top that count
again... This is not fiction... ;-(

Subject: [PS] Wildfire Studios Newsletter #2, 17-Apr-1999
Date: 17 Apr 1999 09:58:36 +1000
Hi,
Welcome to the Wildfire Studios Newsletter! We have finally have
some news to report, so here it is!
--- BOS 1.2 released ---
The official version 1.2 update for BOS is now available. You can
get all the details on the download section of our website at:
http://www.wildfire.com.au/projects_downloads.htm
The main change is the addition of DirectDraw display support,
which means that the game will now work with a much greater range of
video cards. (Make sure you go to the Options screen and select
DirectDraw if you've been having video problems).
If you are currently using a pre-release version of the update, we
recommend downloading the official version at some point, as it does
correct a few problems we found at the last minute.
If you have any difficulties with the update, please let us know.
--- Devil's Island ---
We've had a number of people asking about the expected release
date for Devil's Island. For various reasons, we can't give a firm
date at present, so we'll have to say "when it's done". However, one
way or the other, the website *will* be updated with new Devil's
Island details by the end of the month...
The good news is that Devil's Island will now offer support for
resolutions up to 1024x768 in the scrolling view, and 1600x1200 in
the single-screen view, as well as other improvements, so the wait
should be worth it.
